Overal great experience Good environment for the dine in, But a little too low on the lighting. Ordered 2 burger combos and the service was quick. Slow n’ Low burger was great. New it would be messy but the bottom bun was a bit too thin and soft. Grilled bun and maybe thicker would make it perfect! Fries are a solid win too. Don’t even need to be salted, maybe a bit too salty for sensitive tongues. And the ketchup packets are huge! Plan on visiting regularly and can’t wait to try the onion rings.

We were staying at a local B&B. We Unilocaled to find a good restaurant. There were several. The one we chose was closed when we got there. So when we headed out, we saw Pop’s Burger Stand. It looked fun from the outside. So we decided to try it. Great decision. It was fun. The staff was super friendly and the burger definitely fresh, made to order, and«old fashioned». You gotta get the handmade onion rings. Great place!!!

Great customer service and food. Burgers were delicious and served in a timely manner. It feels like you step back in time as soon as you walk in. Cool décor throughout. We enjoyed it and will return!

Ok, the service was mediocre, the food was good. So, the main drawback with service is that they don’t have a phone. Which means if you like their product you must go to the location of business to order your food and then wait for it. This is fine if you have nothing to do but for those who work and simply want to pick up a food order for lunch this place is a no go. A landline is pretty inexpensive. So this needs to get fixed. The food. The burgers are actually pretty good if you like your burgers so greasy that the bread gets so soggy it falls apart. I happen not to like my burgers that way however, many people do. The taste of the burgers is very good. The biggest problem is with their side items. They are pretty terrible. From fried pickles that have no taste(I mean how do you mess up pickles) to shredded battered onions they call onion rings. Stay away from the sides.

The place was really cool and unique, the burger and onion rings were pretty good! The best thing they had was the Iced-Mug Old Fashioned RootBeer — that was awesome! Will come back and share with others!

After hearing about this burger stand we decided to give it a shot. Friday Sept the 25th, 2015 we go to Pop’s .Arriving at about 8PM or so There was no line but a decent crowd either eating or waiting on order We went for the Tank which is a 13 ounce burger The price is 7.50 ea. Plus one order of fries at a 1.99 I have to say the meat has a great taste and the bun is not bad either The problem we had was the Condiments that go on the burger The tomato was paper thin and only one slice, a few real small pieces of lettuce and the pickles and onions were not anything to write home about I would like to see a bigger bun when making a burger with that much meat, it is two pieces of meat fairly thick I won’t pay the difference in it and what they charge for a double meat regular again The fries I am undecided on as they are cut small so it is hard to say if you really have 1.99 worth I know when I order a Whataburger combo, I rarely eat all of the burger and fries .I was able to eat all of this and the fries so think the additional condiments and size in bum is the difference in Whataburger and Pops Pops meat does beat the other hands down in my opinion Will we eat here again I am sure we will Would we go out of our way to eat here not likely The other thing we noticed and I finely said something was one waitress was walking around calling out a order by number. The problem she was calling a number that was 10 back I finally ask her if she was sure it was not number xx and she looked again and said oh yeah So you have to listen for your number and maybe question when they start calling the wrong one

It’s okay. The place has a good environment. Lots of nostalgia hanging all over the place, which gives it a lot of character. It’s not that I don’t enjoy their burgers, I do. However, they are heavy, not greasy, but just feels heavy on your stomach. The wait is long, so make sure you have time!!! I’ve waited every single time I’ve went in, doesn’t matter the day of week or time. The prices are average for a burger place that serves real burgers. It’s a lot of food. I do recommend their old fashioned root beer. Super tasty. Plenty of seating, and a front patio. Again, just give yourself enough time to sit and wait. Friendly service.

Wow! What an amazing burger! I had the Low and Slow Burger. Premium Angus Beef, crispy bacon, grilled onions, cheddar cheese and topped with Pop’s low & slow BBQ sauce. With a side of onion rings and a Pop’s world famous draft root beer to wash it all down! The juiciest tastiest bestest burger ever!

I have taken my family here twice. Root beer on tap, served in frosty mugs. The burgers are thick and juicy, with fresh buns and fixings. Fries are thin cut fresh and the onion rings are the bomb. This is one of the best burgers in DFW and we will frequent this joint. An added bonus were many flat screen tvs with football on.

This place is pretty good. So much better than any fast food choices. Everything is made fresh, the staff are exceptionally nice and the restaurant is clean. It has a 50’s-60’s feel with the music and décor. You can’t go wrong eating here.

If you are old enough to remember the burgers at diners and Woolworth’s lunch counter get in the car and head here now. Burgers have that perfect caramel used crust plus they know to grill the bun next to the burger so it picks up the flavor. Yes. They are a little greasy… Just like they were before the tofu generation. The onion rings are crispy and flavorful, as are the fries. Four stars instead of five because the cheese needs to be doubled and they use styrofoam for drinks… I HATE styrofoam… As a food writer I try food all over DFW. And I’ve had few burgers that take me back to when I was a kid … These are in that category… And I just happened to stop in – I wasn’t asked to review it…

Let’s get this started: We went on a Friday night around 6:45pm and there are quite a few folks here. Basically, you walk in, order in line and then find a table and they bring your food to you when it’s ready. Pretty cut and dry. THEMENU: It’s a pretty cool burger menu. They have lots of variations of burgers and add-ones such as grilled onions, bacon and pico de gallo. They also have a pretty good looking desert menu but aren’t really serving it right now because blue bell isn’t making ice cream. THEWAIT: Actually, not too bad. They only have one register but it moved pretty quick. We got our burger about 10 minutes after ordering. THEBURGER: Good. It was simply a good burger. The bread was solid, and it had just a little chew to it. The patty was thick but not too thick and had just a bit of crust. The American cheese was nicely melted between the two parties on my double cheese burger and the bacon was nice and crispy. Look, this wasn’t the best burger I’ve ever had in my life or anything but it was solid. It filled me up and wasn’t so greasy I was sick after. THEFRIES/ONION RINGS: Also solid. The onion rings were the most Pleasant surprise to me. I’m so used to Texas sized onion rings with too much batter and thick, undercooked onions. These were thin, almost like shoestrings, and lightly battered, almost tempura style. The fries were also thin and pretty good. Nothing special here but a good compliment to the burger, which is the main attraction. THEEXPERIENCE: It was good. It’s a little hot in the joint. If you remember the BBQ place before, it didn’t have AC or hear. They added AC so there is nice air flow. Just a bit hot. The décor is pretty cool. Mostly old 40s/50s man cave style décor. I posted a few pics. OVERALL: There is a new burger sheriff in town. Pop’s is better than Oma’s and I appreciated seeing«Pop» himself working the kitchen and talking to customers. They have frosted mugs for root beer and big red, which flows in tap. It’s just a better experience and a better burger than Oma’s.

Pop’s Burger Stand was awesome. This was my first visit to this restaurant and I didn’t know what to expect. They greet you with a smile, and make your burgers fresh and fast. The homemade root beer in an ice cold mug was just what I needed to wash it all down. I will definitely be eating here often.

Don’t you love it when… A whole in the wall ends up having really great food. Let me explain… Awesome local place to grab a good simple burger. Visiting from Arizona where McDonalds are on every corner and In&Outs are abundant I definitely don’t think these taste branded/factory. Yes, a bit greasy but homemade with flavor and finally a place with lightly seasoned fries that actually taste like potatoes instead of salty fried air.(Oh and everyone is so polite here!)

Decided to try this new burger joint in Waxahachie. I got the double meat burger with fries and a drink. This burger was delicious. It tasted fresh and came out hot. My fries were perfectly salted. The owner himself gave me a ranch for my fries as a courtesy. The ranch sauce tasted home made. I will be coming here more in the near future. The theme is styled as a classic car showcase. I will be trying the root beer float next time. I will also be bringing my 1977 trans am the next time i visit. Classic car burger joint/great burgers. Im sold!!!

My wife and I came in to try the new burger place in town. It has a neat old time look from the outside with a nice view toward the Waxahachie square looking at the top of the courthouse. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted with a friendly«welcome to Pop’s.» Everyone working here was extremely friendly and attentive. I ordered the El Camino with fries and my wife got the double meat with onion rings. We both got the house-brewed root beer which was served in ice cold frosty mugs. While we were waiting on the food, we drank root beer. I have to say that it was the best I have had in a long time, maybe ever! The burgers were ready pretty fast and they were both very tasty with fresh tasting beef and quality buns and condiments. The fries were abundant, fresh,& hot with adequate seasoning. The onion rings were uniquely thin, crisp, fresh and plentiful as well. I will be back!
