A good casual place for lunch when in Waxahachie. Limited lunch hours, so check first. Good service and sandwitches(and quiche, and soup). As for the«antique» shop. No, it’s more of a gift shop. There are a few random old items, but most items there are new, repurposed and redesigned items. If looking for rustic décor pieces, you’ll like it.

The Doves Nest is a perfect place to have lunch with the girls & then pick up a one of a kind little gift @ the antique/gift store. The Chicken Salad Sandwich is sooo good… made with apricots! They also serve Quiche, Soups, different Chicken Dishes, yummy veggies & Salads & I especially like the specialty teas. They serve a variety of deserts… pies, cakes, cookies. Everything is fresh & homemade! This is a MUSTSTOP while visiting Waxahachie. It’s great @ Christmas. I can always find that perfect little gift I need.

Fun, unique place to shop and dine on Waxahachie’s historic town square. Browse the items in the store for unusual gifts or a treat for yourself, then enjoy lunch in the dining area. This«nest» is known for their chicken salads, made with yummy apricots. They also offer a variety of savory quiches, delicious soups, toasty sandwiches, and their iced tea is to die for; a real treat if you like flavored tea. Many hot entrees are offered as well; the menu is always evolving & everything I’ve ever eaten there is delicious. This is a perfect place for a ladies’ lunch, but it’s also quite a comfortable spot for a husband to dine with his wife. I’ve visited the Dove’s Nest numerous times, and always see more than one couple enjoying a meal together. The Dove’s Nest offers catering services, too; I attended a wedding reception last year & their food was just as good as it is in the restaurant. As a former Waxahachie resident, I can honestly say that this place is a sparkling gem in this little town, and well worth the drive south for those who live north of the Trinity.
