Simply the best British tea place in the area. They have a scone of the month and a broad tea selection.

I didn’t know what scones should be like until I visited. Like the top of a toasted muffin, crunchy and warm with a softer inside. I had a group of 6 for classic high tea. The meal felt very special. We received three tier towers on beautiful plates with individual teapots. The top was an assortment of lovely desserts with fresh cut strawberry accents. The second was scones of our choice(I went for the chives and cheddar) with small pots of jam and butter. The third was an assortment of tea sandwiches. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was fast. This place would be perfect for Mother’s Day or a ladies brunch.

I’ve been coming to taste of Britain since my adult daughter was three. I’ve been to three different locations and have always been a big supporter. When my friend suggested we meet there for early tea in the morning I thought it was a great idea. She met me at the door and out of the side of her mouth suggested that she doesn’t always get a friendly welcome when she arrives. Further, she suggested that when she shows up to an empty room the hostess asks her(slightly rudely) if there is a reservation. Oh no that can’t be so I don’t remember it always being warm and fuzzy but not intolerable… Sadly I feel like we were also greeted Bu an indifferent person who seemed like we were not exactly welcome. Luckily for taste of Britain the waitress was beyond friendly and accommodating. She was charming and it turned the morning around. Ugh, I wish people who were welcoming patrons to the restaurant would realize how they’re making the patron feel when they’re not friendly. The hospitality business is just that, people need to be hospitable. The scones were delicious the tea was warm the atmosphere cozy. I enjoyed a wonderful relaxing time catching up with a dear friend. I would consider going back again for another chance because of our history. I’d even change my remarks when I am faced with a more happy greeting. How about we just try to treat people the way we would want to be treated… I feel guilty writing this but it’s really not the way a patron should be greeted. If you were looking for some English imports up snacks, crisps, jams etc. They have a really cute store too.

I had my bridal shower and the server was not very friendly. I was not pleased with their service. I don’t know if I would go back.

Always a great experience at Taste of Britain. The tea selection is amazing, the food delicious and the service warm and friendly. There are also goodies and gifts from the British Isles for sale. Tip: for a more quiet space, ask to be seated behind the cash register area versus in the main room.

Caveat emptor: to be fair, this may not have been the restaurant. But I figure that it’s worth posting, in case other people have had the same experience. Got very sick with what is most likely viral gastroenteritis a bit over 48 hours after eating here. Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good-tasting food. But I have never eaten here before, and won’t again after getting that sick(and I’ve never had a stomach flu before either; not very pleasant).

The tea and food was delicious. There wasn’t a single thing we didn’t think was excellent. We always share the Afternoon Tea and a pasty so that you get a good variety of items. I’ll be back!

I love this place but the hostess/manager is so miserable and cranky that she should not be working the front. Will not be going there again til they can staff this place with someone who doesn’t hate life!

I took my granddaughter here for the two of us to celebrate her eleventh birthday. We were so excited to share a special time together. My granddaughter loves tea and was so excited with all the choices. Our wonderful server helped us make some menu decisions. We decided to share a full tea with an additional scone and pot of tea. We each started with a cup of delicious mushroom soup. We enjoyed everything ! There was even a candle on the dessert which excited my granddaughter. I am sure this tea will always be a wonderful memory for both of us. Her younger sister asked me if I would take her for tea for her birthday in December, and of course I said yes. Looking forward to a return visit. Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. We made a reservation for four on a Sat morning at 10:40am– I came from center city so there was some traffic(took around 45 min). There’s free parking in the shopping center– place is located in a corner– look for the sign with the tea cup. We got two sets of the«full afternoon tea». This comes with two teas(your choice) and a selection of 8 Tea Sandwiches plus scones(I picked the buttermilk) with clotted cream and lemon Curd. There was also an assortment of mini pastries(cake, strawberry, brownie). Since there was 4 of us, 2 of us picked teas that came with this set and the other 2 got their own tea pots as well. I picked the honey ginger tea– delicious! We also got the pâté(chicken liver served with toast) and sausage rolls(this came with homemade mustard– NOM). I LOVED the pâté– creamy and delicious. The pâté is pretty filling so be careful not to eat too much… sharing is caring! The sausage rolls are basically sausage wrapped in pastries– comes in two(shareable for 4 people just cut the 2 in halfs– decent amount). This place is quaint and super cute! I really liked our server, she was super sweet and made sure that our tea pots were filled with hot water and such. I will def come back to try the other dishes on the menu and to have high tea with my friends!

I took my wife here for afternoon tea several times, and it never disappointed. The scones are so good, we usually bought a couple to go at the end of the meal. The staff are always friendly, and the décor is perfect for tea.

I gave this a 4 star not because of the place because of the hostess. My daughter and I went here on a rainy Saturday afternoon as I was born and raised in Scotland and I knew I could shop and pick up a few things from home. There were abundance of empty tables when we went in and we decided let’s have lunch too. Well the hostess was snotty sorry but that is what she was. Ever feel like Julie Roberts in pretty woman she made us feel that way, we told her two and she replied do you have a reservations in a patronizing way I sad no she said I will see what I can do. She consults her ipad and says I can fit you in, in 45 minutes I commented there are lots of empty tables oh they are reserved. Hmm ok I shopped in the store maybe 15 minutes and only 3 ladies came in for one table. Really. As I was shopping and spent way over $ 50 she was mumbling under her breath to an other employee about us not having a reservation. This is a little gem tucked away but she needs to come off her high horse, will it stop me from going no I will still go as I do get things from home that I miss.

I came here to celebrate Mothers Day for my mom. We’ve been to the Four Season’s afternoon tea and after seeing another reviewer review, who compared the two stating this was better, we had to try this place! Plus, we live within 10 minutes and had never been. When we arrived, we were seated in the back room. A bachelor party of 10 gals were in the room as well. Since it was out first time, I asked to be in the main room, but they had no open tables. I was disappointed and felt like we were intruding the bachelor party. Thankfully, 20 min later, the party left and we had the room to ourself for the rest of the time, which made up for my disappointment. I would still ask to sit in the main room, if it’s your first time. But if you want a more intimate/quieter space, maybe request the back(small) room. We got chicken liver pâté with toast, and 3 Full afternoon tea for $ 18/each. We got a pot of lavender chamomile tea, which was great! There’s a scone of the month, which was a chocolate chip/coconut scone, which we shared along with the lemon scone and a cherry almond scone. The accompaniments were all great; berry jam, lemon curd and clotted cream! Overall, it was a great experience & well worth the price(& free parking!)! I’d go back, now that the Four Seasons is closing for the next 2 years. BUT I wouldn’t say this place was better than the $ 35/afternoon tea at the Four Seasons. It’s just a different experience.

This place is super cute! Went here with the bestie because we adore tea parties and it was wonderful! We had the afternoon tea which was good. The scones were delicious. I also ordered a chicken pot pie with a curry zucchini and apple soup which was soooo good.(I mixed my soup in with the pie filling, totally recommend you do too lol) My friend had the roastbeef on a croissant which she loved. Our waitress Denise was super pleasant and accomodating as was our hostess who made no qualms about us being late for our reservation. We will definitely be back!

After living in the area for years, I’m not sure why I haven’t discovered this little gem until now. I had lunch here on a Wednesday afternoon with three other girlfriends. The restaurant is so quaint and adorable, and it made me feel like I was being transported to a restaurant in Europe! Loved the décor too — there were beautiful drapes, china hanging on the walls, and photos of the British Royal Family. I was the first to arrive and was promptly seated. For a Wed afternoon, this place was packed, so do remember to make reservations. Since my friends were running late, I had ample time to look over the extensive menu. The tea selection is quite long, and a bit overwhelming! I decided to go with the Himalayan tea and the Shepherd’s pie for my meal. The tea was refreshing and the pie was delicious and filling. Presentation was great too. Overall, this restaurant was wonderful — a nice place to unwind and enjoy lovely conversations with close friends! Prices were fair too. I will definitely be visiting again and again!

Great food, great service, and amazing and authentic British tea. I ordered the chicken pot pie, a tomato soup, and jasmine green tea; all of which were super delicious and full of flavor.

After searching high and low and several states for a «tea party» bridal shower spot, us bridesmaids found this place! The manager was beyond helpful, patient and accommodating all 12 of us for a bash for 4 hours for a luncheon. The space provided class, elegance, privacy and a touch of British influence to get us into character. We sat perfectly in a little nook right behind the register that’s usually set aside for parties like us. We were able to decorate the table appropriately in plenty of time before the tardy bride arrived. Good thing the parking lot was big enough in the complex — it filled up fast! Altering our length of stay was made flexible to accommodate us, and we graciously thanked them. Wonderful staff and cooking crew! We had a lovely peach and mango tea, a white tea and a chai yea to share amongst us and we eat got four finger sandwiches and petit fours for dessert. Since we had five girls that were vegan, they were able to prepare for them special meatless selections which didn’t make you miss meat! We picked from a wide variety of scones for our tea and enjoyed sampling what they other opted for. The antique china set off the antique tea cup party favor I was responsible for, and made us feel we took a piece of the china home with us. Tasty, savory, and memorable was our whole afternoon! The now newly weds recently frequented this place again and couldn’t have been happier. Great find!
