Empire Buffet

Place has been closed down for several weeks now close to a month. Note on door tells the health inspector to get keys from the neighboring pizza shop. Don’t know what to think but food lately wasn’t that great. Will probably visit again if they reopen and all is satisfactory with the health department.

We went today for dinner and there was a sign on the door from the town of Wayne stating it was forced closed. Just wanted to warn people to prevent them from making a wasted trip.

Just got back from the ER with my oldest daughter. Ate shrimp and within a ½ hr
She was having trouble breathing and dizziness! BTW she is not allergic to shell
Fish. She was diagnose with food poisoning. I’m done with Chinese buffets
Their all gross. The board of health needs to visit theses places more often
Because I’m sure they are loaded with violations!!!

I am a regular customer of this buffet, however now I will never be dining at this buffet again. My husband, cousin, and I went in for dinner and had our usual meals that we chose from the buffet. The ladies that work there are like watchdogs! They stare you down to make sure you are not choosing a lot of food! Once, I caught a waitress pointing at me and gossiping to another fellow friend. On our way out as I was paying, some lady who was wearing normal clothes with broken English told me that my husband took too much food and he didn’t eat it! EXCUSE ME? I PAID $ 14 FOR YOUR ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET! HOW RUDE AND DISGUSTING OF HER. MY husband just left 2 spare ribs on the plate because they were horrible. YOU HAVE NO REASON TO GOSSIP ABOUT US AND BE RUDE! I WILL NEVER BE VISITING THIS BUFFET AGAIN! THE STAFF IS NOT PROFESIONAL AT ALL!

Looks like this place changes names quite frequently. Had not been to a Chinese Buffet for a long time but was feeling a bit hungry and there was a 10% off coupon for a cheap lunch special. Went with my roommate and we spent about 18 $ if you factor in taxes and tips. We only had water. A few things now…
— They kept trying to push the soda. They must make more money off that than the food. Too bad I gave up corn syrup a long time ago — get over it and just give me water already!
— Everything advertised as ‘crab’ is actually imitation which is basically glued together cheaper standard fish.
— The shrimp in the seafood dish were not deveined, gross!
— The sushi was simply avocado and more fake ‘crab’. Nothing special and no variety.
— The real fish fillets were quite good and a few other of the spicier standard fare such as Korean chicken, Dim Sum (pork only), etc.
In summary, got my quick Chinese fix ‘on the cheap’ allowing me to sample a few items I did not have for a long time, however, still prefer going to spicier Szechuan places or making my own.

This place used to be Paradise Buffet, now under new management, part of the Empire Buffet chain which has locations nearby. I had not been back to the old restaurant for some time, but it looks like they did some redecorating. More booths, added some half-​height room partitions. Food is about the same. Food today was acceptable for a buffet. Two highlights — the peel & eat shrimp and the soft-​serve icecream. Service was prompt and friendly. Buffet is $ 7.75 at lunch, a little higher on the weekend. Iced tea was $ 1.35. So with tax, it was less than $ 10.
