Purely based on service, I Would not recommend coming here. We came in this past Saturday evening and it took us almost two hours to go through two rounds of sushi. The sushi itself was pretty good, except for the small hair that we found in our ginger, but we tried to overlook that. It appeared as though they were understaffed which is unfortunate for a weekend evening. The first round of sushi came out within 15 – 20 mins. Devoured that. And then ordered two more rolls. And those took at least 40 minutes, if not more, to come out. The waitress said it was because the one roll was deep fried, but honestly I think they just forgot. Asked for the check and after waiting for 5 – 10 mins, the waitress came back and realized she forgot to give it to us. Needless to say we would not be coming back. Seems to be Plenty of sushi places in the area, so you may want to give another place a try.

Food is good but service is awful. We waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive. When we asked what the hold up was they said they have our order to someone else. They didn’t compensate us in any way for their mistake and delay. Thai so not the first time we have had poor service.

Why this place isn’t always packed, I don’t know. Quality is on par or better than most sushi places in the area, but $ 23AYCE makes this place a no brainer when you feel the need to get your sushi on. Service is very good and the owner is always accommodating.

Mountain, Tokyo, and Angel rolls are my favorite. They’re generously filled inside and outside with a huge variety of fish. Take your time and sample all the awesome rolls. Friday and Saturday nights fill up quick so reserve beforehand.

Food’s good. The all-you-can-eat pays for itself if you have 2−3hrs to kill. Service is very slow but if your not in a rush and want to make an outing of it it’s a good deal for some B+ sushi.

came here tonight with a small group, sushi was average, the service was absolutely horrible for 5 tables in the dining room(food took forever & getting refills was a pain) kind of found it hilarious when a waitress at a byo place doesn’t even know how to open a bottle of wine and tells the customer to do it! Overall definitely more better sushi restaurants to visit.

I’ve been here a couple times and each time the sushi has gotten worse and worse. It never tastes fresh and the whole place often smells like fish(I understand it’s a sushi place and there’s fish everywhere but no other sushi restaurant has a smell so potent)

I love this place. I’ve been going for at least 10 years, since the original location in Lincoln Park. It is family owned and the owner, Jack, is a very sweet. Always a good time and even our cousins from NY make their way down to come to eat here with us. The food is delicious and I always come out satisfied. The one thing I warn others about is that the food takes a while to get to the table. My family usually orders the second we sit down because we know what we want. If I ever want sushi, this is my go to place in the area.

Literally the best sushi I have ever had. Service is hit or miss. It can be just good or terrible. Just a heads up… It’s all you can eat but it’s just sushi. A lot of all you can eat places also offer a kitchen menu. Mr sushi does not but the amazing sushi makes up for it. All you can eat comes with soup and salad as well so that’s a plus! They also offer a regular menu but I highly recommend getting the all you can eat.

Very yummy. Nice options on the AYCE. The miso soup was very flavorful. The edamame basic but tender. Californian is solid crab not a mix Spider Roll was traditional Angel Roll had tempura crispies New York could be spicier Peter Roll was tasty Fish seemed fresh. I like my spicy tuna a little more chunky but it was still good. Friendly service and fair pricing.

This place is a treasure. The sushi is delicious, and it’s made to order, unlike those buffets where the sushi is pre-made. To top it all off, it’s BYOB. We roll out of there after two or three hours completely stuffed. The service is slow, but we go as a social outing, so we make the service part of the experience, timing how long it will take for the food to be delivered. Usually it’s about 45 minutes for the first round. We always get a second or third round and oddly those come very quick. Hana and her staff always get the order right and they’re fun to joke with too. They always end our meal with sliced oranges, which no matter how full we are, is a good way to finish the meal. I’ve been coming here for longer than I can remember, back to the old location by ShopRite, and will continue to do so.

3 years ago a close friend introduced me to this place. Hands down the best freshest sushi I’ve ever eaten, and I highly recommend the Koni Salad! The owners, a Lovely husband and wife always greet you with a warm welcoming hello. I love that you can BYOB and there is a liquor store just diagonally across the road! If you want a small private intimate dinner they also have a room for that! I love this place!!! Try it, you’ll love it too !! Piña

Visited this location for the first time this past Saturday for a late lunch/early dinner. No complaints at all about the sushi. I chose the all you can eat deal and had 5 special rolls. Each one was fantastic, well made, and well presented. Fish was fresh and tasted great. The girlfriend does not like sushi and opted for steak teriyaki instead. I didn’t try any, however she stated it was very good. All in all, a great informal place to relax, spend some time and enjoy sushi. It is also a BYOB restaurant, we weren’t aware until afterwards. So be sure to stop and pick up some sake before heading over.

Anytime I hear the term«All you can eat» I cringe and automatically assume that the quality of food is tantamount to slop. However, Mr. Sushi’s all you can eat special is an exception to my assumption. Mr. Sushi’s all you can eat special is only $ 23, and comes with a soup or a salad. The sushi menu is extensive and offers a variety of fish and non-fish options. The quality of fish is fresh, which is key! My favorite rolls were the sunrise roll(Peach, tuna and avocado) and the lobster roll. All of the rolls are tasty, beautifully prepared and fresh. Mr. Sushi’s décor is meh. The restaurant looks a little run down and is in need of an upgrade or two. The service is at par; but do not expect the wait staff to go above and beyond for you. In addition, service is a little slow. Overall, if you are hankering for some raw fish definitely check out Mr. Sushi.

I’ve been going to Mr. Sushi since before they opened up in Wayne. They rented a small spot in Lincoln Park in the Shop-Rite shopping center. Jack(the owner) eventually bought his own place(a former fish market) next to the car wash. Hurricane Sandy flooded his place, but he rebuilt. I’ve spread the word to so many people that they now ONLY come here when they get their craving. ATMOSPHERE: The place is a casual setting and there is plenty of parking. SERVICE: The service is typical for what you might expect in a casual establishment. The staff doesn’t quite have 100% command of the English Language — but they know just enough to take your food order. Jack will occasionally come out to visit me and my family/friends. So, if anything, it certainly makes us feel special. PRICE: They have 2 and 3-roll lunch specials. They also serve a la carte and even offer tasty cooked food for those with smaller appetites. But if you’re a sushi«enthusiast» like me, the All-You-Can-Eat option is where you’ll get the most bang for your buck. $ 33 should cover 1 person with 1 all-you-can-eat dish and a can of soda. FOOD: I can only critique the sushi. This is not a buffet place. They make your food to order… and the sushi is TOPNOTCH! I actually read an article in the Bergen Record a few years ago where a food critic secretly compared Mr. Sushi to two other all-you-can-eat sushi places in Bergen County(Sushi X and one other place). Mr. Sushi blew them away… not surprised. SUMMARY: Are there other places like this? Well, MigaSushi in Denville does a nice job. But they’re closed on Mondays… and the sushi menu is limited. Then you have Minado in Morris Plains… but it’s buffet(almost assembly line-like). Mr. Sushi offers a high-quality extensive sushi assortment that is made to order at a reasonable price.

LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOOVE this place. One of my favorite sushi places by far. I don’t know if it’s the price, the ambiance, the BYOB, or the fact that they offer all you can eat sushi, including specialty rolls. I guess all of the above. Great place for a date night or with a group of friends. Bring a bottle of wine and your favorite sushi-fan friends and make a night of it. Will continue to go back. Only problem is their sushi is so tasty, it makes me want it ALL the time. Service is a little iffy, very rushed staff and a little impolite at times, but all in all they are usually a pretty busy place so I expect it. Expect a bit of a wait in between sushi orders if you do the all you can eat, and whatever you do… GOTHEREHUNGRY! :)
