Tiny Town Playlounge

Gross. I took my 2 year old last week at 9:45 am. 15 minutes after opening. Checking in was fine but as soon as i walked in I had to use the bathroom which is in the back of an area where shoes cannot be worn, the floor was covered in used paper towels, I highly doubt it was cleaned the night before, I waited for another restroom to become available (they have 2 and the other one seemed cleaner). As other reveiwers have mentioned the toys were mostly old and gross and half broken, it looks like someone grabbed them off the curb on trash day. There is a tile wall with tiles missing, the lines on the tile «road» on the floor are made from peeling duct tape. There is a chalk room with blackboard walls but chalk marks were all over the whole play area, another sign that no cleaning had been done the night before. There is a dress up room with a tub
full of dress up clothes that look like they have never been washed. The play house has a metal mailbox that says 123 iny Place. Clearly the owners do not care about this place. We won’t be back. It is very sad, I went when it first opened with my son and we had a blast but since then it has gone from town to hood.

We took our granddaughters here — and for the price, the service… your money is best spent elsewhere.
1^st of all — there is no staff walking around, picking up anything — it is a free for all — the little ‘store’ toys are either missing, old, dirty or found somewhere else than they should be.
Ball pit stinks and small.
The ‘movie room’ — there is nothing in there. No chairs, nothing, just a closet basically — boring.
The computer equipment is also not clean — and ½ the equipment is broken!
Most of the equipment here is not maintained — is sloppy and unorganized.
For the price of entry — this place needs help with creativity and better and much more equipment and activities. AND more comfortable seating for the adults!

Seemed expensive for what it is. My son loved the ball pit, but everything else seemed very used and dingy. If you’re going to spend the 8.00 I would suggest funtastic in canton.

This place closes at 530pm on Saturdays, not 6pm like Unilocal says. Got there at 515pm, and employee lady was pretty rude. So we left (after driving 40 mins to get there)

My wife, 21-​month old and I met my buddy and his 13-​month old at Tiny Town last November. This place definitely captures kids attention by providing a nicely laid out floor plan, attention to details in atmosphere and abundance of stimulating items for the kids. While the kids had fun, The adults are a little reserved on returning to this place and the rest of my review will reveal why.
Layout — The place has 4 – 5 different themed (food market, house kitchen, dark room, etc.) small rooms for kids to pretend in. There is a «theatre» area that has a piano and a video cam that projects whatever is going on in the room on the wall of that room.
And then the main play area (larger open area) has a smooth «road» (that goes around the outer perimeter), a ball pit, trampoline, plastic play yards, infant area (thigh-​high walled enclosure to keep infants from wandering) and seating that wraps along a long wall with TVs for adults. There was a neat tree with a bubble machine that seemed to turn on every so often. The kids loved those bubbles! Besides the play areas, they had a check-​in area when you first walk in that has purchasable items (food, books, clothes, etc.) and a room for private parties.
Staff — I’m not sure if they were short staffed because of a party, however it only seemed like there were a few at the welcome desk and one person manning the play area. I felt bad for the handicap gentleman they had cleaning up the play area as kids destroyed it, but he was very nice, polite and seemed like he didn’t mind helping.
Frustrations — Ok, so those were all the generalizations of the place, here are my frustrations.
1. The establishment has a «socks» only rule, as like the other play area businesses, however they have a very small cubby for people to leave their shoes behind. When we went, there were wet shoes everywhere in the welcoming area/​register. Got wet socks before even getting into the play area.
2. They mix «private» parties in with the general public visiting. This was chaotic and overcrowded (that day) when EVERYONE was on in the play area at once. When the private party retreated for food, it was much nicer.
3. There was this big metal helicopter in the main area that would tilt from side to side as kids were in it. I think this a very dangerous toys with other kids running around it. And, not to mention it was missing several bolts. The thing looked like it was going to fall apart!
4. The ball pit smelled horribly! I don’t think I’d put my daughter in a public ball pit to begin with, but definitely not this one. It smelled like someone vomited in it. Thought I was going to vomit myself after getting a whiff.
5. There were no «dedicated areas for family items. It would be nice if rather than old banquet chairs they put in a bench with cubbies for family items. Being early winter, everyone had jackets that seem to have piled up on chairs. We had diaper bags, snacks, etc that we were worried would get lifted with how many people were there.
Concerns — I would view the cleanliness of this place a little questionable. There were a few toys (vegetable from market room) my daughter picked up that looked like it had built up grime but on the other hand saw the room helper disinfect a toy. It also appears as though they don’t replace toys when they should. My daughter was pushing around a broken shopping cart and I remember seeing another kid pushing a broken baby doll stroller around as well.
Conclusion — We came on a cooler early winter weekend and it was probably their prime-​time for customers so maybe I’m being a little harsh on the review as they were busy. The kids had fun but the adults were trying to make the best of it. We only stayed a little over an hour because of how busy it was and the frustrations we experienced. Before I say avoid this place, I would probably give it another chance for redemption.

Ugh. Where to start? Today was our first and last visit to Tiny Town. I had hoped it would be similar to Java Jungle, but I was very disappointed.
To start off, first impressions are that this place is barely hanging on. Many things are broken, or look VERY worn, and lots of the toys are cruddy with age and over use. Many of the town vignettes are semi empty, or bare. It seems like things are not being replaced if they are worn out or need updating.
My biggest concern is that things are dirty. The carpet is desperately in need of vacuuming (we arrived an hour after opening and it looked like it hadn’t been done in days), there are cobwebs on the celing areas, some of the toys had dirt/​crud in them, and I shudder to think about how germy the ball pit is.
For 7.50.per child, I at least expect cleanliness. We won’t be back.

Cute idea. But too dirty. I Cloroxed some of the toys myself and my Clorox wipes were brown.

Pros: I can sit with my friends and chat while my 2yo runs around and occupies himself. Staff is friendly.
Cons: Dirty. They surface clean, but that’s about it. The carpet needs to be REPLACED — not cleaned at this point, but replaced. The walls need to be washed. There is poop smeared on the walls and the toilet paper dispenser in the bathroom. Kids walk around the place eating food. People don’t always wear socks, which is a great way to spread plantars warts. Yuck.
It’s a great little place, I just wish they would clean it up.

This place is the worst. I would give it ZERO stars if I could. There is absolutely NO concern for child safety here. Most times the door that led to the play area was open and I actually saw a kid take a toy from the shop area and bring it inside. Obviously there was NO employee present at the front of the store to see this. Kids could easily escape and just leave the store, which honestly would not too hard. This place is tiny inside, has barely any seating, and way too many things. It’s beyond cluttered, that it’s actually hard to follow your child throughout the place. The food area is basically a part of the play area, so I’m sure that just adds to the germs that are festering all over the place. They have a rule to wear no shoes, but I saw multiple people wearing shoes. Why have a rule that you cannot enforce? Even though I brought a snack, I followed the rule and did not eat outside food, yet saw basically everyone else eat outside food there. I stood at the counter to order a snack for at least 3 minutes and just watched the employee talk on the phone in front of me and barely acknowledge. Terrible, terrible service. Kids were going crazy, throwing balls everywhere. I never felt like my child was safe there. I also think it’s extremely shady that all of the negative ads are filtered. Very shady. Unilocal should not allow this. Tiny Town should be ashamed of themselves.

We hosted my little cousin’s 5^th birthday party here and she had a great time. A wonderful antidote to the craziness that is the overstimulation wonderland Chuck E. Cheese. The space is really cute and perfect for kids 2 – 5 years old. Any older than that and I’m not sure the kids will respond well to it. I will also agree with Michelle A that high energy kids may end up a little bored, but if you’ve got a kid who likes to play but also pretend this is a good spot.
The space is smaller than I imagined but it’s packed to the gills. The main floor has a small trampoline, some teeter totters, a baby play area, a small ball pit, a slide and some puzzle tables. They also have small cars that the kids can drive around the play area in. This was fun but I also saw a few kids almost get run over as they were darting to and fro in front of the vehicles. On the perimeter they have a few small «imagination» rooms where kids can play dress up, veterinarian, store, theatre, and more. Plus a few computers for them to get techy. My little cousin and her 4 – 5 year old friends had a blast running from one place to another. Every 15 or so minutes they set off a bubble machine and it was awesome watching the kids FREAK OUT. It was like a toddler rave, those kids running from all sides of the room to the bubble area and dancing and catching bubbles. It was hilarious.
For a birthday party it was fun and the staff handled everything and were very helpful. My only complaint is that it was VERY rushed. We had a table in the private party room and had pizza that they brought in from Jet’s, juice boxes and bottled water. My aunt brought in cupcakes. The kids were barely finished with their pizza when the staff person came in to have everyone sing happy birthday and pass out cupcakes. Then once the cupcakes were done gift bags were handed out and then we had to clear out because there was another party coming in. Barely any time to just chill out and enjoy the group. We had the room for an hour but it just didn’t feel like that much time from start to finish. I think maybe an hour and a half might be a better time frame. Of course, lids of that age don’t really have a huge attention span so I guess it probably wasn’t a big deal to them but I felt rushed to get out of there and I felt bad that Miss O couldn’t open her presents in front of everyone. The nice thing is that once we cleared out of the room the kids had unlimited play time so they could play as long as they wanted. The bad news is that while there is a parent lounge there is very little seating within it (it was PACKED on a Saturday afternoon) so most of us just stood on the perimeter waiting for the kids to get tuckered out. If you can it’s probably best to go on a week day. Oh, and they also offer free coffee and tea for parents and some TVs around so you can watch while your kid plays.
Every staff person we encountered was REALLY nice and they do take the kids safety very seriously (no shoes are allowed in the play area because of germs and hard soles). If you come independent of a birthday party admission is 2.50−7.50 based on age and they do have a café where you can get basic food like mac and cheese, hot dogs and some gluten and peanut free snacks (although they are pricey compared to what you could make/​bring from home). They also offer Mommy and Me music, art and yoga classes and have a store in the front where you can pick up books, games and toys from the likes of Melissa and Doug.
It’s not a huge place and it’s nothing that fancy but if you’ve got a kid who is under 5 or 6 years old I’m sure they’ll have a blast running around and playing a bit. Great place to go in the winter months or to take a group for a play date as well. Glad this place exists!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Took my two kids there last wednesday. The worker/​owner had her 4 year old and 1 year old running around unsupervised. After I had been there about a half hour I realized the little girl had huge yellow buggers running down her face. For a place that says to stay home if you are sick, why would she let her daughter germ up all of the toys when she RUNS THE PLACE? My kids both now have colds. THANKS! The play food was missing pieces, the helicopter was scary and dangerous and of course the kids were obsessed with it. The animal hospital was scarce. The plastic slide had such a large drop it was dangerous for little kids-​they could whack their head/​neck on the slide end.
It was extremely overpriced. I WOULD NOT recommend.

I recently took my 4 and 6 year old girls here. They absolutely loved it. However, I need to be clear about a few things. If your children are extremely active –they will be bored out of their minds… My oldest was on the mini trampoline most of the time. We had met another family there so the girls were busy playing and enjoying the little rooms with activities. I really wish they had something in there for the kids to be a bit more active.
If you have a lot of educational toys at your house (doll house, role playing items, lego’s, block, mini climbers, etc) you will feel like you are sitting in your house but the furniture isn’t as comfortable. T his can be okay if you take the thought of «well .sweet. I don’t have to clean up the mess… «This is especially true if you have a very small house like we do.
I think the food is crazy pricey. I know you can get easy mac for about 60 cents a unit –so charging 2.99 for rubber mac and cheese– annoying. 2.00 for a sam’s club PBJ uncrustable. That is fine I guess but at least offer a fountain pop or something with it? Spending 15 on admission for 2 kids and then snacks/​lunch it get’s pricey. I do appreciate they had a punch card for admissions.
This place reminds me of «gigglebeans» in chicago. It is a bunch of open space with little rooms/​sections that are a salon, black light room, movie theatre, grocery store (small), etc with an open center area. The kids can drive little cars around on the tiled road. They do have one area that I deemed baby cage (nice little area for crawlers/​pre crawlers).
We will go back, just not on a day that the girls need to burn off steam.
