Been there once and it was good! Look forward to going again. Staff seemed unattentive!

Got some quick carry out and it was just ok. i was really expecting great bbq from this little place due to all the reviews I’d read and was sorry to be rather disappointed. The green beans were good, the Mac and cheese was dry and the brisket was tender. I didn’t eat the sandwich roll. The food did not sit well with me that night nor the next day. It’s too bad since Waynesboro could use a good bbq joint. Best place around here is The Log Cabin in Elkton.

The gold standard for me in BBQ is pulled pork, and these guys knocked it out if the park! Food and service was excellent! Must try baked beans and hushpuppies!!! And at reasonable prices.

Although we loved EBF when it opened and a few times after, we’ve now been twice in the last few months and both trips left us disappointed and frustrated. The prices have skyrocketed and the brisket we had been looking forward to was 50%+ fat. Ick! I really wanted to believe that once was a fluke, but twice(and hearing the same from a friend who couldn’t believe we recommended it) is a trend… And in the wrong direction. I hope they figure it out and make this right.

Great tasting barbecue, but not a comfortable place to eat. Take it to go. Tiny side orders.

We were so excited to try some of their food tonight. It was $ 50 for ½ slab of ribs, 1 lb of pulled pork, 1 pint of slaw and potato salad. It was terrible! What a waste of money. I wish I could give negative stars. The potato salad tastes like bad honey mustard. The coleslaw had no texture and way too sweet. The ribs tasted more peppery than BBQ and were TOUGH!!! The pulled pork was marginally the highlight. What a disappointment!!! I totally want my money back. So sad. My hubby has been there for lunch and liked their brisket and fries, so I was expecting so much better.

We’re always looking for good places to stop and eat on our journeys back west to Ohio. We tried to stop last time but they were sold out. Being in OBX we have our selection of plenty of BBQ joints, and this place stands above any of those. The brisket was amazing, Mac and cheese was my favorite side. This is our go to lunch place when coming through Va.

I have never seen such huge portions of top quality smoked meats. Great attitude by every single member of the staff. I have been to LOTS of BBQ places. This ranks among the top.

Chopped bbq has good flavor but lots of fatty chunks… Macaroni and cheese had no flavor. Even the kids didn’t like it… Will eventually eat there again as bbq places r scarce, but won’t be in a big hurry to run back

Based on reviews I was hoping for real good quality BBQ. We had the brisket and the burnt ends. We have made several trips to Austin and KC so our standards for both are very high. Neither came close. Best thing we had was the fries – hey were very tasty. I need to swear-off trying to find good Texas style beef or KC quality ribs and burnt ends anywhere but where they belong. The pork and chicken looked OK and they were out of the ribs.

Dude, this place is what you want. Burnt ends — uh, yes please. The pulled pork’s what’s up too. A + on no sauce flavor. Their sauce is dang good, but I’d probably give it 4 stars. Hush puppies were amazing, and the onion rings were beer battered excellence. This place is gonna be one of my new spots, for sure.

Awesome food. This was my first time trying EBF and I am impressed. We ordered it to go and when she brought it into the car, the smell of smoke and barbecue radiated through the car. Once home, we did the best that we could to eat it all but with portion sizes like this, it wasn’t possible. My girlfriend could only eat half her pork sandwich and we could only try the brisket because we were so full. Even just the fries(dipped in BBQ sauce) were some of the best I’ve ever had, and that was the worst part of the meal! Great food and I’ll be back next weekend!
Food ordered: pulled pork platter, brisket, fries, macaroni and cheese, baked beans and hush puppies(which came with a house-made maple butter which is insanely delicious, even if it sounds odd at first.)

As we Drove up we could smell the Hardwoods Burning… As we pulled up we noticed a Sign that said Only Pulled Pork left(all other Meats were SOLDOUT)…As we walked in and saw the Coals Burning… When we saw the Sandwiches they were Bringing out we had an Idea we had Found our new BBQ Spot! We were Right! As Delicious as it Looks and Smells! Incredibly Generous Portions of MEAT! Pulled Pork Fantastik! My Favorite«Dish» they serve here and after Countless meals of Pulled Pork, Ribs and Brats the Pulled Pork Wins and that means a lot because the Ribs or Brats get an EASY5 Unilocal stars despite coming in second and third place! This Pulled PORK is probably the BEST I have Tasted ANYWHERE!!! Ribs These had an Amazing Flavor, were Very Meaty and VERY High Quality! Brats we ordered Six and enjoyed them HOT, Warm and COLD, with and without the Mustard BBQ sauce! Highly Recommended! Beef Brisket So far this was the ONLY disappointment Brunswick Stew? We have not seen it yet… Great Idea for COLD Weather ! NOTE to the Owners: Soon it will be Cold and I’m Confident your Brunswick Stew would be a Slam Dunk! This is where I will and would recommend taking BBQ Lovin’ Out-of-Town Visitors when they come to visit the area! Onion Rings were VERY Good! My Bride LOVED the Mac & Cheese, I thought it was a-ok Sauce(s) They have a Bunch Service! Incredibly Friendly and Helpful! One young Man has been here EVERYTIME we have visited this place… All of the Staff are GREAT!

Delicious. Delighted. DANG! I have been waiting for a place that understands BBQ to open in our area for so long I thought I’d forgotten what good BBQ is supposed to taste like. And then there was you EBF. Thank you! I got the pulled pork sandwich with two sides. Coleslaw and Mac-n-Cheese. Let’s start with the coleslaw. It was good. It was really good. Get it. Crunchy, great tasting dressing, not watery. Bonus. Mac-n-Cheese. There was real butter and cheese in there and it reminded me of Grandma’s. My only complaint? There wasn’t more of it. There should have been a big tub of it. The pulled pork. Perfectly seasoned and smoked. The meat was tender, which surprised me since it also was not greasy. Usually, if you want«tender» you have to take the grease. But no, not here. Here it is tender, lean, and delicious. I couldn’t finish all the meat and refrigerated it. Should have been tough the next day, right? Nope! Tender! I had the KC Sweet BBQ and enjoyed it very much. Usually I’m a vinegar girl but not this time. The price for all the lip smacking food was about $ 10 and totally worth it. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. I’ll be back!!!

Most tender, moist, flavorful BBQ brisket I’ve had in a very long time. Friendly, great recommendation of sauce for the brisket. Sides are equally delicious! Definitely a destination for BBQ in the Shenandoah Valley! Easy to find-right off of I-64.

Phenomenal! My wife and I have been here twice and they don’t disappoint. This is a place with hand crafted, lovingly made food which is not so easy to find. We have had the ribs(delicious), the pulled pork(the best either of us has EVER had) and the brisket(so good we cried a little). Aside from the tender, juicy, meaty deliciousness of every entre, the sides themselves are more than just an afterthought. We have enjoyed the cole slaw, baked beans, cucumber salad(so good it defines what a cuke is supposed to taste like) and the light, airy, hush-puppies served with a side of home made maple butter. What makes this place special is the people behind the food. This is not some corporate«you want fries with that canned sauce» wannabe bbq joint. This place represents the dreams, the sweat and talents of the people who made it. I know because they will talk to you, respond to your wishes because, spoiler alert, they care. You can bet we’ll be back and we’re telling everyone we can!

Stopped by on Sunday. Had full rack of ribs platter and Alex platter. Each meal could easily feed four people. Easily. The meats are all really good. Ribs were by far the standout for me. The pulled pork was very good considering I don’t care for it in the first place. The sides are very different from the BBQ norm. Potato salad is light and flavorful. This is virginia BBQ. BBQ sauce was really good and they do have a vinegar based sauce on the table also. I’ll be back. Awesome service. Owner is hands on.
