Terrible service! When they came out to fix or replace the motor they didn’t replace the seal so my motor is leaking. I called back to ask for them to come back out and replace the seals. She told me she wouldn’t do anything because the work order was completed. I said surely there must be at least some window for the replacement. She said she wouldn’t be able to help me then hung up on me. I called back asking to speak with her manager and she informed me she is the manager(Anna). I asked how long my warranty was good for and she told me 30 days but that she wouldn’t come back out without paying $ 95 for them to return. Then hung up on me again. Don’t deal with these guys unless you want a headache.

Horrible, terrible and less than 1 star! American Home Shield sends them to fix our pool equipment and they continually misdiagnose issues and do a really poor job of making repairs. Everything is patched and just breaks again in a few months. I have called AHS at least 9 times in the last 6 months to fix various issues with the pool equipment at the $ 75 charge, which is almost what the yearly warranty costs! The lady that answers the phone at Knock Out Pools is extremely rude and hung up on me last time I called. They replaced a circuit board in January and it broke again in May. Why would a part like that break after 4 months? They sent 2 people to try to attempt to fix it. When the 3rd showed up he refused to repair it claiming to AHS that it looks like WE tampered with it, thereby voiding the warranty. The only people that touched the equipment was Knock Out Pools! I am canceling American Home Shield after 15 years because of their lack of concern and the fact that they make me deal with a horrible company like Knock Out Pools. Avoid this company at all costs!

Terrible. I was referred to them by my home warrant company, American Home Shield. Paid $ 75 for them to come out and they tried to sell me new cartridges for my pool filters. I didn’t need them. But they diagnosed this because it wasn’t covered on my warranty. I refused to pay them only to be shaken down 30 days later for the payment. When I called the warranty company they were no help. I called a reputable pool repair service on my own and paid half of what they wanted… not cartridges… filters. Stay far away from this company. And under no circumstances conisder American Home Shield. It’s a scam.

I have never used a home warranty before, I actually forgot I had it. When my pool pump housing split in half and would not allow my system to run spraying all the water out I looked at fixing it myself, but a buddy told me to call AHS(my home warranty company who did a great job) and have my warranty company take a look. Like another reviewer stated, I searched for the reviews after I was informed of who was going to come out and was not pleased by what I saw here on Unilocal.Being in an industry myself where I know about how online reviews work(largest engine builder in the US) and deal with them daily, the type of people who tend to leave reviews are(mostly angry people who’s claims are denied whether its their fault, a previous technicians or just dumb luck and or people with no knowledge of said product who could swear its right with no experience in the field who just want it fixed at anyone’s expense but their own) I had to come on here and leave my experience. Its typically the good work that people do not leave reviews for, which is sad so I always leave reviews when I can. My claim was for my Propane Pool Heater and Pool plumbing/pump. KO pools was very responsive in regards to setting up the appointment and even giving me a call when they were on the way so I can leave work and meet them. Bart with Knock Out Pools showed up on time and was very polite. He looked at my equipment and we discussed the issues with the heater and the leak. He stated there were a few things with the heater that did not look up to code and I agreed as they said this when I bought the house. He also said the leak was not issued under the correct part on the request and he could only work on the parts listed. He than went to make a phone call and was able to get AHS to change it so that he could repair the pump/leaks and not charge me another $ 75 and a few days down time. He had the proper parts with him and did a great job on the repair. He also made a few changes and added a better valve than what I had which was junk and looks better and will perform better. He also gave me a few tips on how to get my water back to normal, after 2 weeks it was green and black algae started to appear! The heater did not have the proper regulators, propane hose and a marginal at best propane tank with not enough propane in it to test. Due to this, I was very understanding why they couldn’t work on it, but they did leave the request open so I can fix the small issues and they can come back out without charging me. All and all in what I thought was going to be a bad experience turned out to be a very good one by Knockout Pools(Bart) and my home insurance company(AHS). Thank you all very much for the help, I would not hesitate to use y’all again. Like we say in my industry, no news is good news. Only a handful of bad reviews on here, but im sure they have done hundreds of jobs with happy customers. Im glad to say they did a great job for me. Thanks Bart/Knock Out Pools. Brandon S.

Terrible!!! DONOTUSE! This place only wants your money. I had a warranty item(pool heater) occur with American Home Shield. KO came out and used a false claim about an undersized gas line which caused premature corrosion in a 16 year-old pool heater! Six pool companies and the heater manufacturer said the gas line was OK and sixteen years was fantastic for a pool heater. My claim was denied based on KO’s erroneous report. I tried talking to them but they said they were right and everyone else was wrong! Will NOT recommend them!

KO Pools was selected by my home warrant company when my pool timer quit working. Once they were selected for me I immediately came to Unilocal to check reviews to see what I was in for and I was NOT thrilled. Tons of bad reviews. I called my warranty company and asked if we could get someone else due to the lousy reviews. They assured me that if we had any problems we could contact them and they would deal with KO Pools on our behalf. Turns out I had no need to worry! I received a time window of 8 – 12 and I received a text at 11:30 stating my tech, Chris, was on his way. He arrived and was very polite and friendly. He looked at our equipment, replaced the broken part straight away, got me my paperwork and was on his way, all for just the cost of my deductible. While it seems service may be hit or miss with this company, at least now you know there is one more hit out there. Thanks Chris for fixing us up!

Just had my capacitor replaced and DE filter cleaned. Fantastic service by Jason. Was the first time cleaning the DE filter on a new house I bought, and Jason took the time to teach me the process so that I could do it on my own. Would recommend!

Like the previous reviews… RUN!!! DONOTUSE! We had a problem with a capacitor fail(the 4th in 4 months all installed by WFUP). All have been requests through our home warranty. We found out that they use«refurbished» parts. No wonder the capacitor kept failing. We too were hung up on, not once, but twice. RUDE :(And when the tech came out he took the pump apart and when he put it back together the pump was leaking trying to ensure they would have to come back to repair. Not reputable at all. Again, DONOTUSE!!! THEY’RETERRIBLE. No wonder they’re trying to change their name.

We just moved here to Colleyville, TX. They came out to repair one item under warranty and spilled glue all over around the pool equipment. They came out a again for a filter problem took the filter apart and said that it wasn’t covered under warranty and that to repair it the total would be over $ 300 to replace 2 grids and service call. I had to pay the deductible to them anyway. They left, I found that they left everything in the filter scattered in the dirt. I ended up calling the insurance company requesting another company. I had all the 8 – 9 grids replaced. I was looking to have a pool remodel done and I asked if they did Pebbletec, I also asked if they sub it out and they said yes and yes they sub it. I got an email quote sent to me a few weeks ago and I disregarded it, since they are not authorized. I just got a phone call from«Knockout Pools» and he asked if I got the email, that they are changing their name, from We fix Ugly Pools. The correlation did not click at first, then I asked if they do the Pebbletec themselves and the guy said yes. I asked him a few different ways and he kept saying yes. They do not tell the truth. Stay away from them and watch for the name change.

Terrible!!! DONOTUSE! This place only wants your money. I had a warranty item occur with American Home Shield. That was not the problem. Before I had them come to my house. I requested to speak to a technician to ensure that the problem was covered. The very rude female representative, told me that I could not speak to one. And that I had to have them come out to let me know if it was a covered item… Yep you guessed it, I would have to pay the deductible either way. This tells me they are only in it for the money. RUN… RUN… RUN. Oh, and by the way when I told the lady I really would like to speak to a technician or they were not coming to my house she just hung up on me. Well that’s great customer service! That’s okay I’m filing a formal complaint with American Home Shield.

Eric came out to take a look at our system. Not only did he do a great job with the repairs, he provided pool education and really went the extra mile. Amazing service and will be using We Fix Ugly Pools again if anything happens with our system. Thank you!

Came out to check freeze guard that wasn’t activating at 37 degrees. The tech informed me that my equipment was missing a sensor additional to the inline sensor and that they could sell me one. I explained that they did the last repair and he couldn’t explain how my system could possibly work without the additional equipment he was trying to sell. They were the last to replace my online sensor last year and it worked fine last winter. After leaving I checked out the system, reset the control board and later that night when it got down to 32, the free guard kicked on. I’m not impressed and they’ll never be given another thought when I need pool repair.
