having never gone here before, I didn’t know what to expect. The food style is that you order at the front desk, the cashier yells your order/s to those making the food, you pay, and they give it to you at the stand. You find your own table, and enjoy! The food was excellent and service was prompt. I plan on going here again in the near future!

This place is low key and fast food, and on the dirty side… I got the garbage plate at the advice of my husband who is from Rochester. It was much better than I expected. Next time I will put the meat sauce on the side, it was a little too hot for me. Other than that, the garbage plate was surprisingly delicious. It is definitely the kind of thing that will make you feel guilty, I just had to get over that part.

Extra! Extra! Riedel about it! Local Rochester burger chain makes delicious Charleyburger! Owner is a Unicorn! Unicorns are not extinct after all! Extra! Riedel about it! Riedel about it! Charlie’s is a Riedel wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. If you’d like to be inside my enigma, then give me a call after you’re done riedeling this review. What to get: Charleyburger What not to get: Charlie The Unicorn shares on the stock market. That was so 5 years ago What else not to get: A Narwhal The Charleyburger is one of the best burgers in America. Okay, I can’t back that up but it’s definitely one of the best in Rochester, and Rochester has some of the best fast food burgers in the country. They’re cheap, they’re wet, they’re spicy, they’re tasty, they’re filling. They’re original. They may someday be extinct like a unicorn. What do you mean a unicorn is not extinct. Of course Unicorns are extinct. Have you seen one lately? In real life? Exactly. Duhhhhhhh. I stopped here a couple of weeks ago and ordered a wonderful burger covered in extra meat sauce. I lovvvvvvved it. One of the best things about it is that the meat sauce is so spicy, it will blow your head off. Another great thing about it is the price. It’s well under $ 5, and it’s huge! Not as big as, well, you know, but it’s still really big, hot, wet, meaty and tasty(just like… well you know). What do you mean, you don’t believe me? Are you a non-believer? Shun the non-believer! Shunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn-naa. Service was just okay. The place was exceptionally busy. I had a nice time here, eating my burger among the humans. I mean the people. I didn’t mean to imply I wasn’t human. That’s a secret. I mean a lie. Never mind. If you drive a little North West of this you’ll cross the Irondeqoit Bay(or whatever it is) on a bridge. They you can eat your burger as you cross and say«We’re on a bridge(eating) Charley(burgers). You’re welcome. Definitely one of Rochester’s best burgers and make sure you get it covered in meat sauce. And add all the trimmings that you want — they’re all free. And they make really weird corn here too, you may want to try it. It’s called«Unique-corn.»

I’m new to Rochester area and am enjoying all the local burger joints. Charlie’s has quickly become our favorite fast burger joint. A nice gentleman at the counter one day suggested that we order them off the char, great suggestion! Bacon cheeseburger off the char is my go-to order. Recently tried their popcorn chicken with hot sauce. The hot sauce was like a hot sweet and sour, absolutely delicious. Onion rings are pretty tasty too. Thumbs up for fountain Pepsi beverages!

Yummy then regrets. So I never eat garbage plates way to greasy and just makes me feel bad afterwards. That being said sister wanted a garbage plates but stated we had to go to Charlies. Charlies met her mac salad standards and boy did they. The mac salad was delicious. For some reason people now how to make a mac salad that just taste disgusting. We shared a 2 cheeseburger garbage plate. I think we together only ate half of it. It was delish greasy and met my Rochester garbage plate standards.

It’s pretty damn good I hate to say. I am a schaller’s girl at heart but it’s just too far for this webster girl to go for a burger. Charlie’s has been an outstanding supplement. Their burgers are consistent and I love the option for the hard roll instead of that poppy seed(in my teeth) roll. We have ordered their fish fry and it has always been perfect, not greasy at all. One thing that didn’t really come out right was my husband ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and it was a fried chicken sandwich with boss sauce — not exactly standard buffalo chicken. I think it may have just been a mistake on a busy night but I wouldn’t order it if I were you. We love Charlie’s — give it a try if you need a quick meal!

Just a great family owned burger shop. Not many left around like this anymore. Always familiar faces and great service.

Friggin love this place. The burgers are awesome! The meat sauce is the best in town. I love this place for a quick meal out or a hangover cure on Sunday. Yes, it’s greasy. Yes, it’s unhealthy. But for real. If you walk in here expecting class out the ass you’re in the wrong place honey. The service is always great and I love seeing how many dill pickle chips I can fit into one little container. Get your burger off the char, you won’t be disappointed. Love the wings too! They’re breaded, not sauced and a bucket can feed everyone easily.

Meh. That is the gist of my review. I’m not a big bread person but I appreciate yummy rolls. This cheeseburger roll had a million poppy seeds on it and was too thick for my liking. The fries were greasy and my bacon cheddar burger was again, meh. Next time I’ll drive the extra 3 miles to Bill Gray’s :/

Great burgers! I go there three times a week. They have old fashion burgers. Employees are very friendly.

I first went to Charlie’s some 30 years ago when it still had a mini-golf course in the back. Wherever I go I compare burgers to Charlie’s, my «gold standard!» I only wish I lived closer!

Stopped by here for lunch and thought it was generally just okay. Not sure what the hubbub is all about. They do have a huge menu but it is all very fast foody. I had a bbq chicken sandwich and it was okay. Also got the spicy curly fries and they were alright as well. All in all, this place is fine to go to for a quick cheap lunch.

Love this place! Charlie’s has great burgers and I LOVE their fries… So hot and crispy! I have to admit, I haven’t tried any of their other menu items but I caught a glimpse of another patron with a fish sandwich and the fish had to be like 10 inches long! Like pickles? This place has big vats of both sweet and dill pickles!!! Help yourself! I’m good for at least 3 – 4 servings. Lol. The staff is AMAZING! They don’t even write down your order. They REMEMBERIT! I can’t remember what I did 10 minutes ago… These ladies will remember your exact order. Wow! This place was packed at lunch. Don’t worry, there is plenty if seating both inside and out! Highly recommend! Better than Bill Greys of Tom Whalls.

I love burgers and love burger joints. I am huge fan of the fact that we have a few local chains in the area, that have been around since the heyday of burger joints(50s and 60s), and are still around even with all the competition from national chains. Why are they still around? Because their burgers are better, and so are their fries. Charlies is the one of the local burger joints that are closest to my house, and on the way to the supermarket. So if I am on my way to the supermarket and I am hungry, I make sure I stop by. It’s a bad idea to do grocery shopping hungry. It’s a great idea to eat a delicious burger from Charlie Riedel’s I always get the same thing, the Charlieburger and fries. The Charlieburger is a hamburger with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise on a poppy seed bun. I like mine off the char, to add a grill flavor, and my fries(crinkle cut) well done. I really like their hot sauce, and I make sure I get some on my burger, it makes it harder to eat, but I don’t mind a bit. They also have garbage plates, that I haven’t tried, and red hots and other usual stuff you find at the local burger joint, but honestly, I just get the burger.

When I eat out, burgers are not the first thing that come to mind. I can easily pass up a burger, but not Charlie’s burger. Wow, my mouth waters when I think about Charlie’s burgers now that I’ve tried it! We shared a garbage plate and the cheeseburger was so juicy, tender, and seasoned very well. Topped it with the meat sauce that packs a kick and my taste buds were screaming, yes, give me more!

This is my favorite Resturant in Webster and probably my favorite fast food Resturant. Everything is great here. Great fish frys, great burgers, the BBQ chicken steak is great, and even the grilled cheese is awesome. Make sure you ask for gravy with the French fries because their homemade sauce is amazing as well. The service is super quick and you will have your food fast and cooked fresh unlike other fast food places. Prices are average to slightly high which is the only negative.

One of my favorite places to get a plate. Their home fries are so wonderfullly seasoned and crispy. Creamy and flavorful mac salad, hefty burgers and a spicy meat sauce to top it off. I don’t venture out to Webster much but if it’s especially an afternoon excursion, I most definitely make a stop here for lunch. Don’t forget to stop at the pickle tubs for some crunchy dill pickle wedges! Mmmmm

We were on a Christmas tree mission, but I was hungry because… I’m always hungry. So, before we trudged through the fresh knee-deep snow, we searched for cheeseburgers. Unilocal reviews indicated Charlie Riedel’s was the place to get a fast and delicious burger, so we set our course and made it so. On the west side of Webster, we found the location easy enough. The interior is rather expansive with 3 or so seating sections. I could see this place being a top pick for little league team lunches. We were greeted by an efficient but not pushy cashier who, once we made up our minds, shouted out our selections to the kitchen behind her. She rang us up for my bacon cheeseburger($ 3.99) and Paul’s cheeseburger that was either the bacon bleu or just a cheeseburger with bleu cheese or maybe something completely different I wasn’t paying attention I just wanted my food. We also got a side of sweet potato fries for the kid. The total was just over $ 10 with our drinks. I stocked up on ketchup and pickles from the condiment bar(to the right of the entrance as you walk in), and we grabbed a clean and comfortable booth in the sparsely occupied main dining area. Our food was ready quickly. Delicious. A perfect basic fast burger, the patty was too large for the bun but only because it had been smashed thin. It didn’t crumble to pieces, but was a bit unwieldy in the beginning. The bun squished out and by the time I was don’t, the ratio was just right. The toppings(I got pretty much everything on it) were well portioned and fresh enough for their jobs. Paul enjoyed his burger just fine, though again… wasn’t really paying attention because I was too busy devouring. The star of the meal was by far the skinny cut sweet potato fries. Sometimes, I really want regular potato fries but I stick with sweet potato because I’m convinced they’re not as bad for you and I don’t want the kid to figure out the regular ones are tastier. These are tastier than regular fries. Though, I bet Charlie’s regular fries are tastier than their sweet potato fries… perhaps a fry-off is in order. Or maybe I’ll just live in ignorance and stick with their crispy orange string fries and be happy. As we were eating, the lunch crowd filled in. The place grew increasingly packed but the counter was never overwhelmed. They seem to have an odd system for handling a line, in that if you’re ready, they’ll take your order but if you need more time, they’ll move on to the next person and check back with you. I kinda like it, and it moved the would-be-long line quickly. While I did enjoy my lunch and would definitely make a return trip if I was in the area, I think the praise for the burgers being the best in town is a bit overinflated. Perhaps the prices are better, but Bill Gray’s makes a similar burger and was about 2 miles closer from our starting point so while I was eating, I couldn’t help thinking I could’ve been eating the same thing 2 miles earlier. Without the amazing fries, though, so I guess it was worth the extra 5 minutes.

Gottas love the Charlie Burger… since the closing(and demolishing) of the Charlie Riedel’s in Victor, I’ll have to either hoof it to Webster or go to Canandaigua for a fix. I don’t frequent this Charlie’s as much as I used to, but it is my favorite. Great food, always fresh & tasty! Their hot sauce is quite different than that of Empire Hots & Nick Tahous. It is more tabasco based, which might put some«plate» purists off. if that intrigues you, however, chow on!
