I honestly haven’t visited a Pier 1 in over a year, until yesterday. Immediately upon walking in we were greeted by a friendly face, then another! I couldn’t believe there was staff walking the store and greeting customers! This is very different from how things were on my last trip in! After walking the store, I was able to find the item I needed– a jewelry armoire. I’ve been searching high and low but took a chance of stopping into Pier 1 and I’m glad I did. The piece I selected was made of wood, has nice details and the drawer space I needed. It was on sale(for $ 279) but for the quality and space it was worth the buy. After inspecting the item I noticed there was a chip and one of the doors was extremely hard to open. The sales associate informed me that it was the only model in the store and that it was no longer available for order, so this was my only option for this piece. After chatting with her and explaining the issue, she offered me an additional 15% off. I was happy that Pier 1 was able to do this and I walked out with a great new piece! I must say again that I am glad I stopped in, the store was clean, the staff was friendly and I was able to find a unique piece that I had been searching for. Keep up the good work Pier 1!

Pier 1 has grown away from its counter-cultural, funky roots. They don’t seem to have the same kind of insanely cheap prices on shoddy goods that I remember them for. Still, this place is often my place to pick up whimsical housewares. Especially stemmed glassware.
