I love coming to this store for Chalk Paint! I had eaten at Savannah Café next door for a long time and I had never been in the store next door. It was called Restored Home. I decided to stop in. I saw on the window they had chalk paint and classes. I decided to ask what that was. The lady at the counter was so friendly and nice to me. She explained everything to me. Basically Chalk paints are used to create the shabby chic look where new furniture is painted to look old. The paints were beautiful and the examples in the store were amazing so I signed up for a class. I would consider myself a crafty person. I make costumes. I sew. I build things. I make props. I have used all kinds of paints and they have always been a hassle. After taking the class I was incredibly impressed. I could paint a lot more than just furniture. Chalk paint is limited in base colors but luckily it is mixable so you can always make a color that they don’t have. However Chalk paint is the best paint I have ever used. It cant stick to any surface without having to do any prep work. Latex paints and aerosol paints sometimes need coats of primer before you can even do anything with them. Chalk paint is highly concentrated so you do not need to do anything. Chalk paint is imported though so you can only get it from special dealers. Restored Home is a certified Annie Sloan Chalk Paint dealer! The rest of the store is really neat to look at too. There are all kinds of things from ornaments to large pieces of furniture that you won’t find anywhere else. Also if you want something custom made they do that too! If you love the shabby chic look but you don’t want to take a class or don’t have the time or space to do chalk painting yourself then you can get furniture painted by the store. It is great! The owner of the store is a very sweet lady as well. She said she doesn’t want her store to come off as only for high end people — but I still haven’t seen anything very affordable for my paycheck in there. Also they push the natural paint brushes pretty hard. I love animals so I would never suggest a «natural brush» because that means pigs are dying so that their hair can be gathered and made into paint brush bristles. That is horrifying. Go with the synthetic brushes if you have the choice. Anyway definitely check the store out and look around. There are all kinds of things in there so there may be something you just have to have in your home!

I am a long time customer of Restored Home and have always been treated with the upmost care and respect. I have returned items with no problems, not paint, as it’s against store policy, but décor and supplies. If and when I have paint questions, both the owner and the clerks have helped me pick out the right color. Rhonda, the owner has even created custom colors, using her own paint to create samples for me! Whenever I have a question or a problem with my project, Restored Home is there to offer suggestions and always have had a solution to my dilemma. I am a professional painter who chooses to use Annie Sloan Chalk paint as I find it the superior paint choice. I also choose to use the paint from Restored Home because I can always count on Rhonda and her staff to support me and by business. Thank you to Rhonda and Restored Home! !
