One of the best and only bar in Weehawken. The bar tenders are really nice. On a slow night they can make any type of shot you want, just give them the recipe. You can order any food from any restaurant and eat it there. Sometimes if your lucky they will offer free pizza.

Great to finally have a place within walking distance with the Sunday Ticket. TV setup is awesome and the beers are cheap.

as far as clientele: this place is at a cross roads. it’s got nice people;and, it’s got primal assholes with attitude & givers of dirty looks. i hope the former wins out…

This place has been completely renovated three months ago and looks like a whole new place. I’m all for hole in the wall type of bars but hey this is good too. What I really like about this place is the mix of crowds here; older, younger, hipsters, casual, hiphopster lol. I am only familiar with one bartender named Amanda and she’s pretty laid back and cool. I wouldn’t travel miles away to come here but it’s nice to have a chill bar in walking distance from my house lol

This place used to be called Ed & Joes and was one of my favorite dive bars. Its been under new ownership for about a year now and they’ve made some really awesome changes to it, starting with a name change: Cooper Place, because well, it’s on Cooper Place in Weehawken. Secondly, they’ve upgraded the alcohol they serve: For one, their spirits collection has been upgraded, previously the owners only had basics. Now, you can find flavored vodkas(Stolis) & coconut rum(Malibu), Honey Jack, just to name a few. They’ve also seriously upgraded their beer selection. Previously, if you asked for anything beyond a corona, like a corona light, lol or bud/coors, you would get a hardcore look from the bartender. Now, they have quite a few bottled beers. My favorite being the Wassachusetts blueberry! You’ll also get a smile from the new bartenders that you would rarely get from the previous ones! Lol oh, did I mention you can get delicous martinis, now? Because you should know, that wasn’t allowed before. I should mention, however, there are no draft beers here! :/ Third, furniture and electronics: The new owners got rid of the old, flimsy tables. Got some really nice tall tables and matching chairs. In addition to those seats, there are some at the bar as well. Sit there and chat up the bartenders! Televisions: they’ve got new hd tvs. While there are only 2 – 3 tvs, they’re a serious upgrade to the Tvs there previously. Jukebox: one thing I loved about this place was the old school jukebox. Ashame it had to go but they replaced with Touch Tunes which allows for newer music and more variety, which is absolutely awesome because there were only so many times you could listen to the same Daddy Yankees song followed by the same Bön Jovi song(DONTGETMEWRONG I LOVEBOTH but variety is needed) Fourth: a credit card machine! !!! Thank Baby Jesus! You can swipe a card here, now! Fifth: Security. This place is open until 3 am on weekends, 1.5 hrs later than Union City’s 1:30 cut off time. With that said, as in any bar, you can get some characters that arrive after 130. Have no fear, Scott(the nicest, yet scariest when messed with security guard ever) and company will make sure to keep the crowd & anyone acting out in their place! Awesome things that remain the same(and should remain the same): Incredibly reasonable prices Pool table is still there. Awesome locals. The ability to bring in food and eat it there.(They might have menus for local places to order from) Awesome status. My biggest problem with this place you ask? PARKING. It’s Hudson County– parking sucks. Depending on time you could park in bus stop and/or The Bubbles lot. This place was ok for a night cap before, but NOW its an AWESOME place to meet friends at for an after work drink! Def. Check Cooper Place out after you’ve taken the time to read this super long review. Lol
