The location is very nice. The river view and the abundance of windows makes the room very bright during the day and very pretty. HOWEVER, the sushi that they serve is not fresh at all. They don’t have a personal sushi chef and I know for a fact that their bento boxes are prepackaged(I need a substitution bc of an allergy, which they could not accommodate for because of the fact that the boxes are prepackaged). My brother’s sushi was strangely large and it tasted obviously like it was frozen. Not a fan.

Love this place! It is my go to for sushi in my area. They have a great lunch deals such as rolls for $ 10 until 4pm inclusive of soup and salad. Def. great bargain!

Really great ambiance. This is a little gem located the NJ water ferry in Weehawken. It has a great view of Manhattan. The food has always been great. All the different plates we’ve ordered have always been delicious. Service is pretty fast also. The best thing is to sit outside and enjoy the view.

Really fun place to meet friends after work. Food and drinks are consistently good. The waiter, Wai, is always there to make you feel like an old friend. Hope he never leaves. It wouldn’t be the same without him. Highly recommended!

This place is great! We live at Port Imperial and work in the city so we end up eating here once or twice a week. The sushi is consistently good and so are the drinks and hot dishes. The seasonal special sushi rolls are usually very creative and worth trying but what keeps us going back is the service. Wai is fantastic and the main reason we frequent this place so often. He’s become like family over the years and we can’t imagine the place without him.

A hidden gem located at the Port Imperial Ferry Terminal in Weehawken, Robongi is now one of my favorite go-to places to enjoy a nice lunch or dinner with friends or family. As the twin of its Hoboken location, this Robongi has something going for it that the other does not. And boy does this place have a leg up on the other one! You’ll realize what I’m saying as soon as you walk in to this humble place located on such a busy terminal. Here’s a clue – it’s the giant city right across the picturesque Hudson River. I’ve dined here during the daytime in the summer where I sat outside in the patio and enjoyed the soft breeze blowing and the rhythmic sound of the water crashing into the docks. It’s just the perfect setting to a summer lunch. Conversely I’ve also dined here during much cooler weather inside during dinner service and it doesn’t take anything from the experience. Well actually it adds to the experience. Looking out into the wide glass windows and seeing the city lit up while you’re enjoying some perfectly cooked dishes is just sublime. I can’t ask for a more perfect ambiance – especially for a small restaurant at a ferry terminal. So now that I’ve painted a picture of what this place offers in terms of its view, I guess I can now speak of the food that comes out of the kitchen. I want to preface by saying that I don’t come here for the sushi. In fact I’ve only ever ordered sushi one time. I wasn’t a big fan of it to be honest. There was too much rice and it wasn’t as fresh as I would have like it. But it didn’t really affect me that much because all the other dishes that I’ve been served has been delicious. Peking pork chops, yellow curry chicken, glazed ginger chicken, Mongolian beef have all found its way into my awaiting stomach. Their Singapore curry noodle and their miso ramen are delivered hot and perfectly seasoned – with just the right amount of salt and spices without being too overwhelming. Perhaps my favorite dish out of all of them is the Peking pork chops. This crispy dish with its distinct sweet red sauce is a guilty pleasure. And if it’s a crime to enjoy it that much then lock me up and throw away the keys. I don’t know if I just get lucky every time I order it but I’ve never had any complaints. The sweet and tangy flavor(you do notice the flavor of hoisin) compliments the crushed garlic and sliced onions mixed in the dish. The pork, like I said is cooked crispy and even under all that sauce still maintains that crispiness. Their curry chicken is well seasoned and spiced the way you like it. It has eggplant, red and green peppers and string beans all mixed into a wonderful yellow curry sauce. The serving size is generous and the entrees all come with a side of rice. Coupled with the fact that the dishes are very affordable, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t make your way to this Robongi location. I would have never known about this spot unless my good friend Lowell told me about it. Its location can’t be beat and the food is delicious. The portions are generous and the prices don’t break the bank. This Robongi is my hidden gem but one in which I’m proud the share.

not good, not bad — standard quick Chinese restaurant. stick with the basics, anything fancy and you’ll understand why this is 3 star rating.

The sushi at Robongi is amazing and the price is reasonable as well. I typically go with a mix of shashimi and sushi and never have payed more than 20 dollars and always leave feeling full. The view here is great and it is a wonderful place to stop for lunch before heading into NYC. The wait staff is great and they have an excellent seating outside with a view of NYC.

The quality of the sushi is fine, but it’s WAY overpriced for what you get. I ordered 2 Philadelphia rolls and 1 Salmon Avocado Roll… and the total came up to almost $ 22 for 18 small pieces of sushi and 1 can of tea. One can get twice the amount of sushi at a better quality at Whole Foods.

Quick delivery and awesome food. Eating there is nice too, with one exception — one of the waiters there is SLOW. He just chats with the bartenders and it takes him like 20 minutes to return to the table every time he leaves. We always hope we don’t get him. Drinks are also small and not stellar. Everything else is great. Big, big sushi rolls, delicious fried rice and calamari.

As blah as sushi can get! The idea of having sushi readily available when you get to the terminal is amazing but oh how the sushi sucks! The only good part is the gorgeous view and hot saki. The rolls were blah. Bland and pointless. You can go wrong with miso soup. Thank G-d they didn’t mess that up. Kani salad is the other reason this gets two stars instead of one. Blah blah and blah.

Love Robongi!!! This location delivers quickly, and the sushi is always fresh and delicious. I’ve found that sushi doesn’t always travel well, but that’s not the case with Robongi. The fish is big, and the salads that come with the sushi combos is huge! I’ve only ordered from here– never been to the actual location, but have had all great meals here. The tuna lovers combo is our favorite!

Read in conjunction with HUDSONBLUE, Ferry Terminal, Weehawken In my last review, I wrote«on the cusp of 4 stars» but several meals later, this place has clearly lost favor, in my mind: Orders of sushi that tasted like Duane Reade, yes, THAT Duane Reade, sushi and a general decline of taste in other dishes. Plenty of mediocre places around here to go to.

This place sent me the ER. Stay away! I had General Tso chicken with veggie lo mien. I started vomiting shortly after. I wasn’t able to stop until my husband took me to the ER and they hooked me up to an IV. I’ve never felt this sick ever. I’ve missed two days of work because I got so sick. This was my first time eating here and clearly my last.

Fast food Japanese for the prices at *some* top Japanese spots in Jersey. 3 is being super friendly and it may be that their sit-down items are better than delivery but I caution you about delivery. Although it was fast(very fast), the food was sub par. Sushi, while fresh, which left my review at 3 instead of 2, had no flavor. Their shrimp teriyaki and mango shrimp was unsalted, uninspiring and just plain bad and a waste of 40 bucks. Who charges 18 bucks for 7 pieces if shrimp anymore and then it sucked? I ain’t about that!(Sorry, I have momentary lapses in my vernacular). Miso soup tasted like warm water. Dumplings and shumai were good. Conclusion: Just based on most things being not tasty, spending $ 165 and hearing 5 people complain about random things here and there– was not a successful Sushi Sunday.
