We stayed at the Mountain Resort for 2 days early February. While I give the hotel high praises, the restaurant needs a new chef/cooks: In summary: Service= 5 stars Dinner/Meals: Beef Filet = 4 stars Kale Caesar salad: 3 stars(no flavor) Mac cheese: 1 star. This was the first Mac and cheese my kids(6 years old) would not eat. I tried it and something tasted off. They ate my filet.

This place has bad reviews. However, after looking over the menu I figured I would give it my own perspective. I came in late, 8:00, and the bartender and waitress asked me right away if I was looking to get dinner tonight and if they could assist me. I politely declined so I could read over the menu. After deciding to have some late dinner I asked if I would be able to sit at the window in the lounge chairs since it was just me. They willingly obliged. SERVICE5STARS. Food: Prawns with Piccata sauce and Seasonal Vegetable Medley*pics attached*;Delicious; Delivered to coffee table in timely fashion; Needed height but overall a nice presentation. ENTREE5STARS Dessert: Crème brûlée; Presentation slightly lacking but interesting*pics below*; flavor slightly lacking as well. DESSERT4STARS Looks like this place has turned around compared to these other reviews.

Food was good. Waiter was terrible. He spent most of his time socializing. It would be 15 minutes between each time he would check in with us. Would normally not be too concerned, but it was very quiet in here tonight… Won’t be back :(

They were super busy when we went, but the service was slow and under staffed. This place could have so much potential with the right chef. For the price, which people are willing to pay, they should have better food and be ready for a crowded night the week between Christmas and New Years. This place could be the go to place in this area with the right management and chef.

Took a while to get water and greeted. My fiancé asked for someone to serve us. Once we were able to order we had delicious Hawaiian wings for an appetizer. Then ribeye w asparagus and sweet potato fries. The ribeye was tough, over cooked(we both ordered medium rare) and lacking flavor… ok it was bland. The sweet potato fries and asparagus were delicious(especially the fries!!). We both ordered a beer which came timely and cold and very good. The waiter checked on us 4 times(one of which we had to ask for steak sauce to make it through the ribeye) and did better after my fiancé got him. The food was overpriced because of the lack of quality. The ambiance was nice and the service was friendly and once it got its kickstart did well… and then we had to wait for our check and a to-go box(it’s like the service was bookended w bad service). It’s a 2.5 if I could.

Unfortunately, not a great experience. Slow service, and the food was not as good as it should be for the price.

We stayed at the resort for our anniversary weekend, and part of our reservation was a meal at Altitude. We received two free glasses of wine for our anniversary, which was nice, but the food was only about average for the expensive price tag attached. The server was running all of the tables, with some help from the bar, but she did a phenomenal job considering the place was packed. The place itself was nice, but not over the top. For the price of the food we could have had 3 or 4 dinners elsewhere. $ 18 for a hamburger? Really?

We sat there for at least 10 minutes and not one person came by to even say hello or give us a glass of water. Considering the entrees cost between $ 14 – $ 25 — without any sides included — I would expect a little bit more. And what’s with the Christian coloring book for the kids? I don’t have anything against Christianity, but it’s a little surprising to get that in a restaurant.

The only reason I’m giving them 1 star is due to the fact that the server knew the food was terrible and offered to comp an item without any hesitation or questions asked. Don’t go here looking for anything edible.

I would not eat here. This is the definition of mailing it in. Makes me sad because this place could be the go to fine dining spot on Mt. Hood. Instead, their wine list is the same as any wine list anywhere in America and their food is basically the same. No love. No care. No effort. Server was very nice, but it wasn’t enough to lift up an essentially effortless operation. And on top of it, it’s really expensive. Hope they can turn it around because it could be a really cool spot on the mountain if they just tried even a little bit.

My wife and I stayed at the Resort this past weekend. In the restauraunt there were only 4 couples at the time we went in around 8pm. The service we received from our waiter was 1st class he was awesome. The food was ok, the issue was we sat close to the kitchen and the only way to describe it, is to say it was a party in the kitchen. We could hear every word that was spoken, it ruined our entire evening experience. The noise level of yelling and talking inside the kitchen was rediculous, even our waiter was apologetic!

The upper management all need replacing. If the new owner actually hires some staff, I’ll change my rating.

Excellent dinner tonight at the Altitude. Compliments to the chef and our waiter Umberto. Service was exceptional. Food outstanding and you can’t beat the price on Prime Rib nights, Tuesday and Thursday. We have eaten there other nights. Always a great experience. Highly recommend.

EXTREMELYDISAPPOINTED. This restaurant was recommended by the condo manager where we stayed. The food was overpriced and mediocre at best. The restaurant is located in a condo facility and is quite nice. You are fooled into thinking the food will be great as you walk into the glitzy lobby and stroll past the elegant tables, booths, and dazzling lights. However, it is all a disguise to mask the expensive and mediocre food. The service was great from our waitress. However, things got off to an odd start when we ordered wine. A male server appeared with the bottle and served the men at our table first and the woman last. We ordered a steak and potatoes dish that was overcooked and the potatoes could have been powered and from a can. A scallop pasta dish consisted on bland noodles and freezer burned scallops. The fish dish with polenta was covered in Siracha sauce even though it was never mentioned on the menu. Overall this was a very disappointing and expensive meal. BEWARE!!!

Only go for the beers and the view of the golf course. The place seems to go through employees faster than any tourist spot on the mountain, so the food is hit and miss. Maybe if you are a group such as a wedding party where tour meal is pre-planned, but other than that, the mountain has way better options to choose from. They need to figure out how to do things better if they want to have any regular business, but if they are just hoping for tourists that feel trapped at the resort, then that’s who they will only have.

I originally wanted to go with 1 star because I’m into food and I generally review restaurants primarily on their food, but maybe not everyone cares about just the food, and actually the ambience and the service were both quite wonderful. Walking through the front lobby to the restaurant there was complementary lemon & lime infused water and Starbucks coffee, luxury couches and a nice fireplace. The restaurant had comfy booths, elegant lights stringing down above the tables, floor to ceiling windows cover half the restaurant and look out to trees and the pool, and our server was very pleasant and kept our waters full without ever having to ask… had I just ordered water I would have ranked this place 5 stars for sure. But I did not order just water. It is such a disappointment to come to a beautiful place only to discover the kitchen has zero love for food. Salad dressings clearly came from a big Sysco jar as they had that unmistakeable preservative flavor. The soup of the day was fairly good, but mostly made of heavy cream, and just above luke warm temperature, which made me wonder if it had just been pulled out of the fridge and hadn’t quite warmed up. The bread(almost warm) did not have that«I was just baked today» feel. We ordered 4 dishes, were the only ones in the entire restaurant, and it took an hour to get our food. Then they came out 1 at a time. A soup & salad… then a sandwich… then a burger… and everyone was half done by the time mine came out, which turned out to be a new menu item and perhaps the recipe wasn’t quite perfected or the person making it just didn’t care at all. The noodles were mush, the meat had no seasoning, the sauce was flavorless and the wrong color. I sent it back immediately but was hesitant to try anything else, or wait any longer. Opted for a roast beef sandwich, pan fried sliced bread, roast beef, white onions somewhere in between grilled and raw, edible… Something you might make at home if you weren’t a chef. Got it just when everyone was completely finished, so I boxed half Togo. Set it on the table when I got home, came back a few minuets later and it was gone. Found remnants of the box by the dog. Maybe it was for the best.

I used to love dining at the Resort’s restaurant but the new menu along with the new chef leave a lot to be desired. My husband and son ordered the halibut which was dry and undesirable. Both of them did like the mash potatoes on the brighter side. My mother and I ordered the Dungeoness crab salad which was shockingly different than we expected. The crab was chopped up and mashed with vegetables and was odd. The salad dressing was an Asian style dressing which didn’t match the crab. None of us are interested in returning or giving it another try, especially when the Rendevous is nearby and has consistently good food. Additionally, all of us would prefer the food at the Burro Loco which is a lot less expensive but certainly a ton tastier. Our waitress was fine. In a nutshell, overpriced, not fabulous food. Fortunately, the house wine had a good flavor. If you want a fine dining experience with quality food, go to the Rendevous. If you want great food at great price point, in a casual environment, the Burro Loco is for you. My son would like to give the Altitude restaurant zero stars, regrettably that is not one of the options.

We had a reservation and were seated very quickly. Our waiter was fantastic and really the only saving grace of the restaurant. The prices were inflated for the quality and presentation of the food. I had the NY strip rare and it was tasty. The polenta was dry and tough. I had never seen it in this state. My guess is that it was scooped out and placed in the oven/warmer hours ahead of time. The few slices of carrots and squash were good, but nothing to rave about. My partner’s rib eye was requested medium and was pretty bloody. We were left feeling sad about the entire experience. The ambience was LOUD, so loud. Lots of toddlers, babies and families filled the dining room. I think they were going for a fine dining effect in this restaurant, but have seriously failed. We will not be back. Again, our waiter was the only thing that saved the day. He was sincere and attentive. A definite asset to this restaurant.

Great food, but extremely slow service. We came to dinner during our stay at the Resort. The restaurant is nice for the area and there is a small, but decent bar area. We had pretty much everything on the winter menu. I dont recall being blown away by any of the dishes, but that each dish was very tasty. We ordered three t-bones, but our server told us that they only had the T-bones without the bone? In any case, we got them and all were overcooked. My dining companions were too famished to send their meat back, but I did. When the server came back, she offered me the last T-bone(with a bone) she found in the back of the fridge ??? The second steak was cooked much better, perhaps the bone had something to do with how long to cook it, you think? My biggest problem with this restaurant was that the food came out a different times and it took over an 1 ½ hours for our food to arrive after it was ordered. Our children’s food came out last, very unusual. We were also charged for something we ordered, but never got. Since the food came out at various times, we did not know to ask about it until we had finished our entrees. Overcharging is a big no no for us when deciding the tip. Our server noticed our frustrations, apologized and gave us her employee discount. We really appreciated that so didn’t fault the server. For a nicer, established restaurant, I expected better service and work flow. The food is deinitely worth a try if you have lots of time to kill.
