Optical Designs

I finally have the PERFECT pair of glasses (after several years of not-​quite-​right frames and lenses and many hundreds of dollars wasted). I can’t say enough great things about this place! I walked in with a prescription for new lenses, and no idea what I was looking for. I met with Michelle, told her what my needs were (I work as a real estate appraiser so not only do I sit in front of a computer for a good portion of the day, but I also spend time outdoors looking for street names and house numbers) and she made wonderful suggestions for progressive, high index lenses. She even steered me away from transition lenses explaining that they would not benefit me while driving in a car as the lenses only change color in direct sunlight and not through glass and the cost would outweigh the benefit. I had no idea what style of frame I wanted (other than stating I wanted them to be lightweight and comfortable). She took her time with me even though the store had several customers on a busy Saturday afternoon. She chose several frames and she helped me whittle them down to the perfect pair. The glasses were ready in 5 days and they are wonderful! Not only are they stylish and comfortable, but I can actually SEE out of them (the last pair I had made was from BJ’s Optical and they completely botched the execution of the prescription). I’ve gotten many compliments on the new frames. Michelle has a real knack for picking out the right frames because I never would have thought to pick up the pair I ended up buying and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the whole process and my new glasses!

I hadn’t had an eye exam in maybe 5 or 6 years, so I wanted to find somewhere close to my work to get one. I scheduled an appointment at Optical Designs, showed up, and was greeted by a very friendly staff member. There was no wait, and I was able to see Dr. Prendeville within a few minutes of sitting down.
Dr. Prendeville made me feel at ease. I had to look at some lights and answer better/​worse on a vision testing apparatus. I felt my exam was thorough and complete, and since I didn’t have to wait to see the doctor, I was able to return to work without a hitch.

Service at this store is fantastic. They bend over backwards to find the perfect fit for you.

I’ve gone to the other optical designs location in Needham for years and I’m glad there is now a location that’s more convenient for me. Just like the Needham location, I appreciate friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. Unlike some of the «big chains» — they really know what they’re doing here. They will get you into the right pair of glasses that will not only help you see well, but make sure that you look good as well.
