Red Skillet

I was in Wellsboro for work yesterday and a friend mentioned they have new food truck that was really good so I thought I would check it out. The Red Skillet food truck is located next to Garrison’s Men’s Shop behind Ginn and Vickery Law Firm at 99 Main Street in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania.
The food
I sat there and looked at the menu for 30 minutes trying to figure out which amazing looking item I wanted to order. I decided finally on a burger. I ordered a burger with sauteed onions, fried egg, and blue cheese on it. All I can say is WOW the flavor was amazing. By far the best burger anywhere in the area. One thing I will note is you pay for it. It was 11 bucks for the burger alone so it isn’t cheap. However I feel the value is there the quality is top notch. They also freshly made to order artisan sandwiches and salads along with homemade soups and desserts.
The verdict
I love it I really can’t wait to go back and try some of the salads side and especially the pulled pork. If you are in the area you need to stop by and try this place it is well worth your money!

Amazing food truck in this small town. Everything is fresh and made to order. Great food, the poutine is absolutely delicious. I’ve also had their salads, made with hydroponic greens and a house vinaigrette, and their chicken sandwich featuring a basil pesto mayo. Friends and family had different sandwiches and soups and it was universally agreed that everything was just spot on. Very friendly staff as well, if you order to eat there (they have a few tables and chairs set out on the sidewalk), they’ll bring your order out to you. With it being such a small location, you may end up walking down to the park to eat (about 2 blocks), or grabbing a bench along the scenic wellsboro main street.
Another thing to note is if you go into the Shady Grove store (just past the Frog Hut on main street headed out of town), they have a small section of food that is supplied by Red Skillet, which I thought was great for both businesses. I had the dolmade and hummus pack when I shopped at that store, and it was also fantastic.
Overall, I give this place 5 stars and highly recommend it to anyone passing through wellsboro.

Got the MTB, which is a mozzarella, tomato and basil sandwich with pesto on grilled focaccia bread. It was absolutely delicious! Great fresh ingredients and fair prices. If you’re in Wellsboro and want lunch, check it out! Trust me, best sandwiches in town!
