The ambiance is alright. Came here to study for upcoming tests and looked forward to getting lunch. Despite the store not mentioning it anywhere, apparently nothing is made on Sundays. No breakfast, lunch or dinner. Their menu says panini are served until 3PM, breakfast until noon. That’s apparently my true on Sunday. The coffee is nothing special either. Overall disappointing and I do not recommend coming on Sundays. I can’t speak for other days since the reviews are all good.

My favorite coffee café in the Valley. I often stop here for their lattes while I do some work, personal or business. Comfortable ambiance with no stuffiness. Also, they feature different artists work on the walls for viewing, which is a wonderful way to introduce the Valley to local artistic talent. The cinnamon muffin is my splurge and the swan cookies. I have also purchased their on site roasted beans to grind and use at home. Very tasty. Keep going strong Mela.

Mela has been my go-to coffee spot since they opened. There is nothing in town that compares to the ambiance, and the richness of the coffee is only enhanced knowing that it was roasted just beneath your feet! Nearly a decade of enjoying this gem and I’ve never written a review… But today I would be amiss to not. Mela has — without a doubt — the best omelettes in town! I’ve always frequented Mela for the coffee and largely ignored that they offer food. Until now. Their ham omelette is out of this world. The onions are perfectly caramelized(I *HATE* raw onion in an omelette), the ham is bursting with flavor, the smoked gouda keeps it creamy, & the tiny dollop of pesto brings it all together. Seriously an orchestra of flavor, texture, & presentation. Pro tip: Upgrade the potatoes for fruit… you get at least 3 – 4 varieties that are beautifully sliced into some form of art.

Mela is one of the few places in town you can get real espresso done right. Their baked goods are quite tasty and they serve a decent breakfast. The baristas are fantastic. They’re super friendly and really know their customers.

Best breve and molasses cookie ever! Yum yum! Mela occasionally has live entertainment. Outdoor seating. Nice place.

Café Mela is the quintesential coffee house with faded leather chairs, well made cappuccino, lattes, and baked good fair. It’s where I spent my lunches for years when I was living in the area and working in Wenatchee. Fast forward five years of living east coast and although the café has changed owners and décor, the core has remained, relax to indie pop, suck down homegrown and roasted beans and breathe out.

I do enjoy Café Mela’s coffee(+ pastries and food). I appreciate the ambiance of the café. My one complaint is service. I continue to return to Café Mela for the coffee(and, I know the owners are great people). The baristas tend to keep their heads down until they are ready to make your drink. They rarely say hi or acknowledge you when you walk in the door or get in line. The blonde girl who tends to cashier but also makes drinks always has a bad attitude when I’m in there and doesn’t seem to know how to keep an eye on and/or manage her line /customers. I am a fan of the coffee, the café itself, the ownership, and live music so I’m giving them a 4 star. It would be nice if service could be improved. It’s not cool or hip to ignore customers or be rude when they get to the cash register after they have patiently waited in a line of 2 – 3 groups(which always seems to be «so busy» to the baristas and takes forever… it really doesn’t need to be that way but I always wait patiently). I’m disappointed to leave this sort of review but I’ve been in Café Mela many, many times since moving to Wenatchee from Seattle and it hasn’t seemed to improve.

Caffe Mela is a great gathering spot with true espresso drinks amazing pastries, great breakfast menu and pleasing staff. If you are in town visiting on vacation or attending a seminar, Caffe Mela is a wonderful experience. Try the bacon breakfast sandwich, it is delicious!

I came here with a co-worker because we wanted breakfast that didn’t involve a drive-thru. The staff was friendly and greeted us when we came in. I got a breakfast burrito and orange juice. I was surprised when the person at the counter took out a premade burrito and put it in the microwave. When we sat down, the tables were dirty and the carpets were absolutely filthy(looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time). The combination of the microwaved burrito and stained carpets left much to be desired.

Had coffee and a scone here today. Scone was good and latte was average. This is one of the dirtiest establishments I’ve encountered in many years. Tables were dirty, wood floors were absolutely filthy(even globs of old gum left stuck in spots) and the carpeted area had disgusting carpeting that couldn’t have been vacuumed in months, let alone shampooed. Very disappointing and I wouldn’t go back.

I love the coffee here and the service is friendly. There is one thing that drives me CA-RAY-ZEE though, and I know this is petty but Please, buy some soap for your bathroom! Replace the watered-down bottle of pink mystery liquid that is always in there. It’s gross and weird. It’s been there for a very long time. C’mon man… But I love the coffee !

Why 3 stars? Because no hot breakfast on Sundays is unfortunate. — — — I was very excited to try some solid breakfast, but learned that they basically only have muffins on Sundays. I think there could absolutely be a good reason for this — i.e. Sunday is the day off for the owners, the owners go to church on Sunday instead of cooking, etc. etc. But there’s no mention of this on the website, and no one enjoys looking forward to something, only for it not to happen. The second reason for my 3-star rating was the general apathy of the employee working during our visit. I don’t need the whole«WELCOMETOMELA!!» treatment, but a glance up and a half-smile would have been amazing. Being my first time here, I wasn’t sure where the line really started to order. There were just people awkwardly standing in different places near the counter, and I just kind of made my best guess at it. The girl behind the counter didn’t look up or address us at all, and when we got to the front of the line, she just seemed generally to not be enjoying herself very much. My cappuccino was nice, but it sure would have gone better with a hot breakfast and a smile.

The barrista was a bit too cool for school when we arrived but soon warmed up and the other barrista, once she came on shift, was very kind and friendly. Coffee was great but I’m no expert. The breakfast burrito was disgraceful! I started installing Windows 10(like a fool, who does something like that as a coffee shop???) and ended up having to stay there for hours while it chugged away and they were very understanding. A great coffee shop in general. Come get you some!

Good coffee and decent breakfast served by lazy hipster assholes. Honestly, really poor service from the three 19 year old folk singers running the place the day I walked in. The first guy asked me what I wanted, then proceeded to fire up the noisiest espresso machine ever invented while I was ordering. Got my order all wrong(because they couldn’t hear it), laughed with each other about it when I asked about it, then brought my order to me 20 minutes after I ordered it. No apologies, just snarky little whispers to each other. Not coming back.

The ambience is great. Coffee is fine. Not impressed with the service. i walked in at 3:30 and the girl working was sitting on the counter visiting with a friend. Finally when she noticed I was standing there she came over. i ordered and she was making it wrong so I had to tell her how my drink is normally made so she stopped and started again. Then I asked about the straws because they weren’t filled up on the counter and when I went to leave a tip she grabbed the square plastic thing they use and started dumping out her tips on the counter. Then my thought was, «No dollars, only the $.35 change she gave me would be more than plenty for her. Maybe it was her nap time.

I asked the barista what they offered for espresso and she looked confused; so I asked if it was a blend and they said no but I could look at the bag: it says«signature blend» on the front. I asked if they had other brew methods available(specifically a french press for their Costa Rican). They told me «no» because it was too busy and making a french press took too long: There were only 3 people in line including me. The espresso definitely had potential but mine was over-extracted. And were they too busy, or just too interested in getting back to their phones? *see picture taken almost immediately after we sat down. The shop was very nice — well decorated, skilled lighting, and quality music. It definitely had a pleasing atmosphere.

Hipster espresso joint in downtown Wenatchee. Dark paneling, brick, deep red walls, with black ceilings completing the look, very roomy. Building looks like it was an old small town Department store. Live bands play here at times; Loomis Whitney Blitzen Trapper Jay Nash & Josh Day Chill music playing. Prices as expected.

Came in late afternoon on a holiday so take it for what it’s worth… Just a few patrons in the store but still had to wait a long time in line just to pay for a soggy sandwich and a can of soda. Staff members coming and going, chatting among themselves, but not making eye contact or acknowledging our presence. Overall a real letdown considering that reviews were generally positive. Probably will never be back.

Caffe Mela is everything a coffee snob might want. The mission here is to do things the old Italian way and all the drinks are made one size only in its own specific cup. The choices here are: Espresso, Macchiato, Cappuccino.(If you want a latte or mocha there is a smaller americana menu for the paper cup crowd) The building itself is the essence of cool and the interior is set up for a first rate coffee experience weather thats drinking straight shots at the bar, or sipping a Cappuccino at a table playing chess. The one thing that I don’t get is this new trendy thing about pouring a Cappuccino instead of spooning the it which basically leaves you with a 6oz Latte. The people that run the place are super enthusiastic about there business and love talking about it. In the back there is a extensive stage for music and I left here wishing that I could have seen it in action, maybe next time I will.
