I had the original crust cheese pizza and it was good. The crust was good, but pretty plain. But you can add different flavors to the crust; I will try that next time.

I have been to this location many times over the past 5 years, but recently it seems my order is wrong every time I go to pick it up. They offer to make another pizza, and that’s fine and all but I’m sick of constantly having to wait 10 – 15 minutes extra every time I pick up the pizza. Get it together or you’re going to lose a customer who eats pizza more often than is recommended by any doctor.

To qualify my rating, I must confess to being a pizza snob from the northeast. Conveyor pizza is way below my pay grade. Dominos, Pappa Johns, Little Ceasars, never find my palate. I’ll tolerate Pizza Hut if someone drags me in. But having lived in an area where chain pizza fails year after year in favor of local pizza and italian eateries, it’s got to be pretty darn good to earn my interest. Kind of enjoyed HH back in college 25 years ago. Back then, it was better than Dominos, but suffered over seasoning, stale toppings and cheap cheese. As soon as I found something better, it was easy to leave HH off the playlist. 25 years later, I’m back in Florida to visit my alma mater. Every town, has a Hungry Howies. I see the one near campus moved up from a store front to a free standing restaurant! Good for them. I head off to Wesley Chapel for my hotel, arriving pretty late. Seeing HH earlier in the day, I’m intrigued to revisit my college dietary roots. It’s late, but Wesley Chapel has a store front HH down the street. I walked in, the staff is working with a customer while I read the menu. Wow, is it possible prices have actually dropped after two decades? I order up the Meat Lovers special for a super low price, too cheap, how good can it be? They tell me this pie will be ready in 15 minutes, too fast in my gourmet mindset, but that’s how fast the conveyor runs, that’s when its ready. Right on schedule, they drop the box on the counter and give a big smile and a fond farewell for the evening. I hustle it back to the hotel. Open up the box, the top is nicely spread with delicious looking toppings. The pizza is a nice healthy uniform off-white, oozing very nicely between the toppings, with even cooking and melting. The trademark crust is nicely formed and perfectly baked. Crust is a bit thicker than my memory, sauce is nicely red and not oversalted or thin and the whole pie holds together nicely as I tear through it slice by slice. ITWASGREAT. It’s been a while since I finished a large pizza all on my own, or at least certainly cared too. I’d have choked down one more slice if I had found one in the box, it was perfect. The flavored crust was a little more subtle than I had experienced previously. It was there but not overwhelming like a cheap seasoned salt or flavored oil. Well done. Take a bow WCHH team. You made my night. And great job evolving your formulas and ingredients HH Corp. Keep up the great work.

What can you expect? They have cheap pies! $ 6 each during the weekdays. The crust is a little thicker than I would desire it to be but otherwise the pizzas were okay. Not bad for a mid-week crave to bring home for dinner. A chain pizzeria with typical small, medium, and large pies. They have your normal toppings such as Pepperoni, Ham, Mushroom, Onion, Green Pepper, Italian Sausage, Bacon, Ground Beef, Black Olives, Fresh Tomato, Pineapple, Mild Peppers. They have flavored crust! Cheese, Ranch, Cajun, Onion, and Butter! Of course, there is specialty pizzas: MEATEATERS — A must for hearty appetites! Pepperoni, Italian sausage, thinly sliced ham, & seasoned ground beef. Meat Eaters VEGGIE — A garden fresh delight with mushroom, slivered onions, green pepper, ripe black olives & sliced tomato. Veggie HOWIESSPECIAL — A classic combination of pepperoni, thinly sliced ham, slivered onion, fresh green pepper & mushroom. Howies Special HOWIEMAUI — A taste of the islands with generous portions of sweet pineapple, smoked bacon and thinly sliced ham. Howie Maui PHILLYCHEESESTEAK — This classic East coast specialty starts with a hand tossed crust topped with special cheese sauce, marinated steak, green peppers, mushrooms and onions, smothered with provolone cheese. Cheesesteak BACONCHEDDARCHEESEBURGER — The backyard grilled flavor of hamburger & smoked bacon topped with mozzarella & aged cheddar cheese.
