Surprised by the interior. Having situated at a strip mall I was thinking this is like a typical strip mall kinda spot but it’s not. The place is pretty specials and well laid out. Service was good. The use of a cart to take away used dishes gave it a Chinese buffet kinda feeling. Also it was so loud when they were carting it around. Food looked appealing but lacked flavor — avocado smoothly was more the avocado slush. Would have been better if it was not filled with crushed ice — egg roll wS good deserves a 4 — shekan beef tenderloin was ok –3 — beef bun was also A-ok which makes it a 33 — chargrilled chicken looked really good borderline 4 — beef skillet was ok as well 3 Everything was nicely presented and decent portion sizes. I will come back for their phở and bun-mi

Pretty good phở. Bön mi is pretty good, too. A great option for an area that has a lot of chains and fast food.

It was a big surprise finding such an authentic Vietnamese Phở place in the area.

Just paid $ 15 for a large phở takeout! You get the same broth amount if you ordered a medium or large soup… But with the large you are supposedly given more noodles but the broth is not enough for that amount!

The facility has a lot of space so not crowded at all. Went there for lunch. Quick seating and even faster bringing out the food. Food was delicious! Deducted a star because not enough meat in the large phở. But don’t get me wrong, the phở broth is very good and there was a lot of noodles. Maybe next time I’ll have to order added meat. Will definitely visit again. Staff is friendly.

I love the phở here. The service is great also. It’s a drive for me but the drive is worth it.

I’m kinda a Phở addict, so I like to try various places. Phở King was excellent. The broth was fragrant and delicious. The meat and noodles were plentiful. Even the veggies for garnishment were abundant. If in the Milwaukee area it’s worth your time.

Phở King ended up being one of my go to phở restaurants while staying in Milwaukee. Service was generally average to solid. Décor, cleanliness, and a quieter atmosphere made it a nice location to bring parents and friends. Seems most of the negative reviews touch upon a «bland» broth. The truth of it is, this is more similar to authentic phở broth, which does tend to be blander for those who are not familiar with its taste. I usually get the phở tai, which sometimes had flank slightly overcooked, but was generally well prepped with a decent serving. As another plus, the sides(bean sprouts, basil) are fresh :) Banh mi sandwiches are also very well priced and a large portion. Overall, a solid location for comforting, more authentic tasting phở :)

The thai tea was good and very flavorful, but it costs $ 0.50 more to add black tapioca pearls. The prices for the beverages on the board above the bar, vary from what’s stated in the menu. With that being said, the tea was still tasty nonetheless. This was our first time here, so we decided to try the B6-Charbroiled Chicken and BM5-Grilled Pork Bánh Mì. The pork was tender, not fatty and delicious. I wish there was a tad bit more pickled veggies and jalapeños. The bread was crusty, soft and delicious. The charbroiled chicken was good, but I favored the bánh mì more. I absolutely appreciate the way they took care in packaging the items for take out. Everything was wrapped properly and made it safely to it’s destination.

Visiting Phở King was by accident because we thought that the Mexican restaurant was still there. Vietnamese food is a far cry from Mexican but I am that we stayed! Our group started out with some appetizers. We got the shrimp spring rolls, popcorn wontons, and the crab rangoon. The peanut sauce is probably one of the better sauces I have tried. The rangoons as well were very flavorful and a generous portion size. However, my favorite were the popcorn wontons. They were delicious fried packets of shrimp and pork… what could be better! We all tried different versions of the vermicelli noodle dishes because it was a little too warm outside for phở. The portion sizes are HUGE and it was your typical noodle dish. I had the pork which I thought they could have grilled a little more because it was a little limp and slightly fatty. The most bizarre part of the experience was the seating. They have tables outside and we asked if we could sit there. They replied«well, we have never had anyone sit outside». Okay, I guess the seating is just for show :) If you are in this neck of the woods it is worthy of a visit. The menu is quite extensive and I look forward to trying their Banh Mi and phở on another visit.

This is my family’s favorite phở place in Milwaukee(we’re between this place and Tank Noodle in Chicago). Service is great, the food is yummy and the prices are reasonable. Ask Ahn(«Andy») for recommendations. He suggested the Combo egg noodle soup DRY. It was really good.

For as long as I’ve been on this earth, I’ve only had my mother’s homemade phở. I was always skeptical about trying phở in restaurants to avoid disappointment. Until one day… I gave into Phở King’s flank and steak phở. There were definitely some authentic flavors swimming around in my huge bowl. And now… Phở King is my go to phở place for when I am having phở withdrawals while awaiting the next time my mother decides to make it. I’ve brought many friends to this place and have either converted them into phở eaters, or have stolen them away from their previous favorite phở places. ;-) The service is attentive, the prices are great and the food is satisfying! A few other items that I’ve had that were also tasty are the crab meat rangoons, the fresh rolls(both varieties), and the char broiled pork banh mi. Can’t phở-king wait to return! :-)

I had Phở at a few spots around Milwaukee, but I think I just found my favorite. Not too far from my workplace, I popped in for lunch last week… It was a bit late for the typical lunch hour, so I was not surprised to see only a few tables occupied and some of the staff on their break in the rear of the restaurant. Since I typically get to take my lunch closer to 2pm, rather than noon, occasionally I get the shaft on service when dining out. I understand that this a break/prep time for many in the industry and I don’t require more than someone to take my order/deliver the food/bring the check — I did sincerely appreciate the fact that the waiter was attentive and timely here. Another spot of similar cuisine and location has been known to blow me off completely even though they post their«open» hours from 11 to 10pm. The young server was friendly and did an excellent job. After I ordered, the Phở Ga with noodle was quickly delivered to my table and was piping hot. I attacked the broth first and it was richly flavored to perfection. No overwhelming tastes of fish sauce, salt, or MSG. The standard accompaniments were fresh and crispy. The chicken was plentiful, but to my tastes, a bit overdone. Small matter when it comes in a divine broth. The rice noodles had that thick great, almost al-dente texture is rare in many MKE joints. I slurped those suckers up. When the tab came at the end of the meal, I was very happy to see that if I come back on a regular basis — I can afford to do so!

Some of my coworkers have been raving about this place for months so we finally made it out here for lunch. Of course out of curiosity, I had to look up the menu and see where it was and realized it is in the former mexican restaurant, not that I had ever gone there, just easy to spot. When we arrived I also noticed that most of the businesses in the strip mall were Asian which surprised and delighted me, I’ll have to check out the other places, bit I digress. The menu is pretty good sized, apps, a whole page of Phở options, some rice dishes and noodle dishes and drinks, but my focus was a phở that day. Most of the table ordered the same thing, I think it was P3. The food came out pretty quickly which was great, being that this was a work lunch hour. Broth was piping hot, meats were tender, noodles were good in the broth. I didn’t add much, just a little lime and jalapenos. They were also great sports since almost everyone forgot cash and they split our bill for us, although it did take quite a bit of time to do as well as run our cards. Yes, probably half of that is on us. I’m giving it 4 stars, I’ll be back to try some of their other dishes!

Adding a star on this one. On my most recent visit service was much better. Waters were quickly refilled. And phở is still solid. I like the P4– phở with flank steak and meatballs. Glad to have a(phở king) great option for phở on this side of town. FYI– when you get phở to go you get all the separate pieces and put together the phở at home. The beef slices(flank steak) will be rare. This sort of gave me the heebie geebies but when you put it in the hot broth the beef will mostly cook. If you don’t think you’d like this I believe you can ask for cooked slices or choose a phở option without flank steak.

I remember seeing this place soon to open and then next thing you know it has 20 reviews and is famous already! I came here 3 times the first week I found it. I had the P4 last time and again, no complaints! Everything is so Phở-King AMAZING!!! Best in town!

I visited Phở King for the first time last Saturday, and they made a good first impression on me. The menu is fairly large, but I was there for the phở — until I saw the Banh Mi section. Hmm, what to do, what to do. Got it! The Banh Mi comes in two sizes, 6 inch($ 3.95) and 12 inch($ 6.95), so I’ll start with the 6 inch and still get the phở. The Banh Mi combo was made with pork meatloaf, pâté, and BBQ pork topped with cucumber, cilantro, jalapenos, and carrots. I liked the flavor and the texture of the crisp, yet soft bread, but I felt like the sandwich needed a mayo or similar sauce to take it to the next level. The phở comes in at least 10 varieties. The first is the Phở King house special, aka P1, starting at $ 12.95 for a medium bowl. All of the phở is served in a medium bowl, but you can upgrade to a large bowl for $ 2 more, but there is no need, The medium bowl is massive! I ordered the Combo Phở, aka P2. It comes with flank steak, rare brisket, meatballs, and tendon. The difference between the P1 phở and the P2 phở is that the P1 comes with beef tenderloin instead of flank steak. The P2 Combo Phở was $ 8.95. So, yes, $ 4 difference between flank steak and tenderloin. Most of the phở options were $ 8.95 or less. The broth was the star, as it should have been. It was only the second phở broth that I felt I didn’t have to add anything to for flavoring. It was pretty close to perfect. I tinkered with it anyway and took away the magic. Dumb move! It was still good but not as good as when it was untouched. All of the usual phở fixin’s were served or were already on the table, and the service was very attentive. I had three different servers ask me if I was ready to order. My water glass was topped off before it was half empty, and I didn’t wait long for the food. I’m definitely a fan of Phở King, and I will certainly go back to try other menu items.

Phở King wasn’t really that phở king good. We went to Phở King to try some of their phở and other Phở King Vietnamese dishes. Overall, I’d say it was ok, but I was rather Phở King disappointed. Phở King phở was kinda bland… we got it with phở king meatballs and brisket, but really didn’t impress me. None of the other Phở King dishes are really worth getting, except maybe the Phở King sandwiches. I didn’t have one, but they looked pretty good. 20% promo off your Phở King bill right now makes it really cheap, and might be worth trying for a lunch or something, but I think there’s better Vietnamese places around the Phở King area.

FINALLY ventured into Phở King after securing a dinner companion that wasn’t afraid of venturing to National and eating a big bowl of tendons. We rolled in at 6:00 and the parking lot was empty — so I was afraid they weren’t open! The inside is cute, bear in mind I never made it to the Margarita Paradise, so I cannot say if much was changed. We were only the second table in the restaurant and were given the option to sit where we wanted. They don’t have a liquor license yet which was a bummer since I was in the mood for a beer, but it wasn’t the end of the world — she assured me they were working on it. We just stuck with waters(which never went farther than 1 inch down without being refilled), and decided to start our meal with fresh spring rolls. Well I am unfortunately not a shrimp fan, and all their spring rolls include shrimp — while I’m sure we could have ordered without, we decided to get the grilled pork spring rolls instead. Boy, I’m glad we did! While visually worrying(picture lumpy brown in see through wrap), they were absolutely delicious! Our server was kind enough to bring two dishes of their peanut sauce so we didn’t have to share, which was great since we both licked the bowls clean! We both opted for the phở, the reason we came. I got the number 5 with flank steak and meatballs. The regular size was perfect for both of us. The typical plate of thai basil, limes, jalapenos and bean sprouts came too. I spiced up the broth with some hot sauce and hoisin — but honestly I liked it a lot as it was. It was on the saltier side which is something I could see others complaining about, but I am a salthound so I enjoyed it very much. Our server was a bit of a hoverer, she handed me the check and stood there until I figured out how to pay — and then after scanning it came back and literally stood 1.5 feet from me as I tipped. It made me feel uncomfortable and rushed. As they’re still new they were running 20% off the entire bill so for an appetizer and two regular bowls of phở — we rang in just under $ 20. I was full and satisfied and would definitely return.

Let’s start with the name: Brilliant The phở is good! The broth is flavorful, the ingredients are fresh and the meat is tender. I’m into it. The Banh Mi is also very delicious and SUPERCHEAP(foot long for $ 6). Don’t bother with the fried rice or the clay pot rice dish. Stick with the Phở and Banh Mi and you won’t be disappointed.
