The menu is always new and exciting. We don’t get here as often as I wish, but the few times we have, it’s never been a let down. Consistently great service, and food… What a pleasant experience.

Tried poutine, it was kinda lame, French fries were standard cafeteria kind. also tried lamb meatball dish, it was disappointing. Everything was. Waitress was also offering us things we didn’t realize we had to pay for. She asked if we would like bread with the soup, not knowing it was extra we said yes, she also asked if I wanted a salad with my dinner, thinking it was a side salad I said yes and then she named off all the salads I saw on the menu, so I asked if they were small versions and costs less and she said no… Of course I don’t want a whole meal with my meal. Anyway never going there again. Yuck.

My wife had the crab cakes for an appetizer I had the Wisconsin Poutine(a Quebec dish in which cheese curds are served layered on top of french fries, and melting under steaming hot gravy). crab cakes were very good, the Poutine was good,(not as good as the normal Poutine but it was definitely a healthier version) the fries were a little soggy, 90% are normally soggy from the gravy but ones on top were not crisp — very large portion. We then had the beet salad — out standing, some might struggle with the goat cheese — you could ask that it be put on the side(it is a clump on top). She had the sherry scallops & mushrooms(with wild rice) this to was outstanding. I had the seared Tuna, sounded really good but did not do it for me, the tuna was a slight bit fishy(not objectionable) and the tuna was a bit cool(not cold but not at peek temperature). I did re-sear it the next day and it was better — I still would prefer a wasabi based sauce. Staff was very nice and the environment was great — it was a quite night there — only 4 — 5 other tables. Food came really fast — if it is a quite night and you want to take your time tell your server to give a little time between courses.

We miss this place terribly. We used to live in the Bend and moved from there to Milwaukee. Since then, we’ve only had the opportunity once to come back and visit — and when we did — we LOVEDIT! The food is made with love and the place is a nice venue with great service and food. I would highly recommend this place over any of the other spots in West Bend.

I had the balsamic chicken, and it was the most delicious chicken I think I’ve ever had. It’s been a week and I still can’t stop thinking about it.

I can’t say enough kind words about this restaurant. The pictures already posted do not do it justice visually. The newly reopened bar, The Underground, has a sitting corner worthy of Wilde or Doyle. The dining area offers uniquely mismatched chairs, mason jar accents, & unexpectedly comfortable booth space. Romantic and classy, and a peek at the outdoor waterside dining made me eager to return to appreciate it. Décor is just the beginning. The service is the best I have experienced… ever. From hostess to server everyone knew the perfect balance between helpful and hovering. Our server seemed to know what I needed without my ever needing to ask. Even after coming home the little touches kept coming in the form of cute«thanks for liking our food enough to take it home» stickers. The draw of upcoming events such as tapas & a meal at the farm left us intrigued as well! But onto the real stars of the night… the food. You taste fresh in every bite. We did apps, entrees, & desserts and every one was equally worth note. Cheese curds matched with lip smacking preserves & poutine(yes poutine in the states!!) with perfectly crisped fries started us off nice. As juicy and complimentary as my salmon dish was, i couldn’t keep my fork away from my boyfriend’s bacon wrapped bison meatloaf with goat cheese infushed mash. And despite being unsure if we could manage more we delved into banana foster with candied bacon in perfect portion. It’s not an inexpensive meal, otherwise they might see us every night! Although they do have some more than reasonable daily specials, including build your own burgers, that have us eager to return. Again, can’t recommend enough. Best meal I’ve ever had outside of Manhattan’s Barbuto — so, in turn, the best thing West Bend has to offer, period. Thanks for making our anniversary memorable!

Went for Easter brunch. Service was a little slow, but they were busy. Food was very good for being buffet style. Don’t tell my dr. But bacon was to die for. Very thick and meaty. Bar area looked very clean, but not inviting. Very good experience. Hope they do well.

My family and I come to Café Soeurette on the occasional Friday night. While it is busy, we have never had to wait to be seated and the bar has never been over crowded. First, the bar offers interesting and refreshing drinks that contain fresh fruit purées and syrups. The bartender is able to make suggestions and makes quality drinks. Second, both the atmosphere and service are good. The servers are personable and attentive. Third, the quality of the food differs depending on the night. For example, I had the cod fry this Friday and the pieces were dry, small and the food was actually bland. I put salt on my food… Something I rarely do. Two weeks ago, the same meal was fantastic. The beer batter was flavorful and the fish was moist, and flaky, rather than hard and dry. I would consider a re-review if there is more consistency. Last… This isn’t exactly a place for children. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable enough but there is no children’s menu. The server, however, made sure we could get a side for our non fish eating child who really does not eat adult portions. I like the farm to table concept embodied by the restaurant and the offerings(including cooking classes). The prices are reasonable and the food can be really good. I would like to see a little more consistency in what comes out of the kitchen.

Yum! Love the atmosphere! Food was excellent! We had one of their amazing soups that was to die for. I’m soooo glad that we happened upon it cause it was a little diamond in the rough. I can see where this restaurant would be in west bend but it was a pleasant surprise!

Yuck! Stopped for lunch today, had the chicken Gouda melt. It was awful. Rubbery chicken, no cheese, stale white bread, about two strings of grilled onions, and no sauce! Should of complained but was running short on time, pulled the chicken out and had the 2 pieces of bread for lunch.

Just recently went to CS for a friday night dinner. We all decided to try the fish fry. This was my first time here and can tell you it won’t be the last. Why this place is not packed on friday night for the fish is beyond me!!! By far, the best bang for the buck fish fry in Washington Co. When you factor in the place is unique and has class, along with great service, why would you go anywhere else. I didn’t have the potatoe pancakes, but wished I would have. The others in my party raved about them and they looked awesome. Can’t wait to go back and try something else. Love the fact that they shop and use local products as much as possible. Cool gem for West Bend!!!

Get ready for some serious yum, y’all. I’ve been to Café Soeurette twice, and can now say this is my favorite restaurant in West Bend. I love the cozy speakeasy feel(it’s downstairs), the mismatched chairs and dishes, the attentive staff… And, oh, the food. I’ve been there with groups, so have had the luck of sampling several menu items. Everything’s been incredibly fresh and many of the flavor combos are a little bit daring. I appreciate the nudge to try shrimp with fennel, salmon with cranberries or watermelon rind with bacon. The classics are always well-executed, too. Tender meat, fresh seasonal fruit and veggie salads, pumpkin fritters you can’t stop eating(try dipping them in the slightly soft crème brûlée… heaven). My only teeny issue is that sometimes there’s just too much. I didn’t ask about the pour size but I’m pretty sure a glass of wine runs at least 8 oz. The prices are completely acceptable for a regular 5-oz. pour. People in my group have had to take home pretty significant portions of food, too. Today I was lucky enough to have my salmon leftovers. Still as awesome. Generous, yes. Necessary, no. I’d pay the same for less.

As foodies, we were really looking forward to trying this place, after reading all the positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The food was OK, but nothing to rave about. One of the appetizers was too salty, and after we sent it back, we were still charged for it — the first for us, at any restaurant. When we asked to split an entrée, we were told there would be an additional fee — perfectly fine, considering the extra effort and items to plate separate portions. To our surprise, we received the entrée on one plate, with an extra empty plate, and were told to split it ourselves — also the first for us. The restaurant’s response to our returned appetizer, and its self-service split-plate approach — at customer expense — left a bad aftertaste, and a complete lack of desire to either return to this establishment, or recommend it to anyone else.

I loved everything about this place! *sitting outside on an early spring night *mismatched vintage silver and plates *soup served in a small mason jar *menu of eclectic dishes *friendly staff I tried the Spring 2013 menu and had a great Thai Curry Lentil soup, artisan breads and oil, the Apple Cheddar salad and, for fun, the Bacon-wrapped Watermelon Rind. The Watermelon Rind was pickled and the combo had a taste and texture similar to bacon-wrapped dates that you can get at tapas places. I only wish I had room for dessert!

AMAZING! You have to try it out! great dinner atmosphere for taking out the visiting parents or a girls night out. You can even come back later for drinks! The bar has house specialty drinks made with homemade infused vodka(yum!) and lots of live music. Would recommend to any foodie!

Chef Jodi never disappoints! Living in West Bend, there are very few places I would call culinary delights. This is my premier choice for fine dining in West Bend. The Chef is very into«farm to the table» concepts a supports local producers without quality suffering. My wife and I have eaten here many times and it is by far our number one choice. If you want a great meal in a very cute and comfortable setting, then this is the place for you when visiting West Bend.

Met up with a few friends from back in the day(You know… high school in the mid-late 90s) and had a delightful time. We only had adult beverages, so I can’t say anything about the food, but the bar area was super cozy. We camped out on a couch and a few chairs and shared a few bottles of wine and giggled about days long gone. A great start to the Thanksgiving weekend!

Although it’s been about 4 months since I ‘discovered’ Café Soeurette, I decided it was worth putting in a review. The Café is a very pleasant oasis in downtown West Bend. I don’t know what most places in the area are like, but this seems comparable to many of the nicer places in the Milwaukee area. The wine list was rather extensive and seems capable of meeting anyone’s needs. My date and I sampled at least 4 different cabs and syrahs while we were there, and the sommelier(for lack of a better word) was very helpful and friendly. The food was also very good, with a nice ‘mature’ atmosphere. Overall, a very nice place for a date or an upscale evening out.
