As a transplant, I have had great mexican food and crappy mexican food. Considering this area and the choices offered for authenticity, this is pretty good for West Bend. Prior to Jaliscos, we had El Reys, have we forgotten just how bad this place was? So by comparison, Jaliscos is a culinary delight. Now many have said the food is not well seasoned, you have to know a little about the locals. 1. Most who are raised here in West Bend have NO pallet for spices. 2. If it isn’t over cooked and in a giant pile for under six bucks, they won’t buy it. 3. If you were raised in W. B and haven’t traveled or experienced real food, don’t review unless you know what your talking about. This town has never been know as a culinary destination, but new blood is coming in and breathing life into a locally dead industry, «Restaurants». S

Not being from the area we stopped here on a whim. To start we were brought salsa and chips. The salsa was bland enough that one person in our party suggested it may be plain tomato purée. I ordered a shrimp taco dinner and my friends ordered avocado burritos. The shrimp taco consisted of a. the tiniest microwaveable shrimp, b. avocado, and c. a taco shell. That’s it. A very bland combination, and not at all in line with the menu description. The avocado burritos were at least aptly named: sliced up avocado alone in a burrito shell. Also, although the waitress was very sweet, she somehow conned us all into adding rice and beans, which were secretly a few dollars extra. All told, the bill ended up coming out to over 60 dollars for sliced up avocado and bad shrimp. Overall, some of the worst«Mexican»(if you can even call it that considering there was no cilantro or onion in the place) food I have ever had. Sorry Esmeralda.

Not consistent; sometimes decent tasting, sometimes bland. However, the staff is friendly and service is generally good. The prices are very reasonable. Coming from a western state where there are many Mexican eateries, I feel this one is just so-so. I like the«hole-in-the-wall» look of the place(and it’s generally clean) but overall did not impress me.

The food quality and service is mediocre. Another downside — don’t forget cash as they don’t allow tips on credit cards. After our third dinner there we left asking why we came back, but quickly remembered there is not the variety that downtown MKE offers.

I’m fairly new to the area and some of my coworkers decided that we should all go out to lunch one day. They suggested this place. I’m really glad they did! The place is clean, the service is very friendly, they were happy to split the bill between about 12 of us, and the food was not only extremely affordable but very delicious! I will definitely come here again the next time I’m with a group in the area.

I enjoy eating here a few times a month it is a good place for a quick sit down meal. The food is always good and consistent I know I will be getting a good meal on each visit. The service is very good they make sure you are comfortable and they are attentive to your needs. The burritos and tostadas are two of my favorites. The salsa is good and fresh every time. This is one of the best places to eat in West Bend if you want a good, quick, quality and reasonable meal.

The hot salsa is great! And the fresh avocado with the Torta. Maybe a little too bright inside for evening dining, I probably wouldn’t have the Torta again though, it was just ok. Service good and friendly.

Oh Jaliscos :(How I used to adore this place when it was by the theatre. I left town for a few years, then came back eager to finally have a burrito at Jalisco’s again. Went down, only to find they had moved: the old location was no-frills diner-turned-Mexican place; the NEW place has had a lot of money pumped into it to make it look vibrantly faux-Mexican with all that entails. but they clearly pumped the funds out of the food/cookstaff area to do the renovation. The food is awful now. How can you screw up Mexican so bad? And a simple bean burrito? I think the beans are right out of a can. Too bad. This was a favorite of mine for many years. Now it’s just a waste of space. Probably won’t ever go back. Update: 6 mos later. We went there, there was one other couple there. 3 waitresses on duty. We waited 10 minutes to get our order taken and another 10 minutes for them to bring drinks. Definitely not going back.

My husband and I go to Jalisco’s about once a month. We have been patronizing the business for years and have not seen the decline in quality that other reviewers refer to. In general, the food is underseasoned, but always has been. We have always taken full advantage of the bottles of hot sauce on the table or ordered sides of salsa verde with our meals. The ingredients are good, but this is not burn-your-mouth-off-spicy food like you might expect at a Mexican restaurant. Having worked in several restaurants in West Bend, I would guess that the underseasoning issue is in response to the demands of the consumers in the area— lots of diners afraid of spice in this town!

I have been to this location on several occasions for both carry out and dine in. The food has always been good and service has been very good friendly. If you dine in you get free chips and salsa, meal plus drink will cost you about 11 dollars a person. About the restaurant it has always been clean, including the bathrooms.

For the W.B. this place is alright. As far as overall quality for«mexican food» i would say meh, i’ve had better. that being said, if you dont fancy a drive down to the milwaukee area and have a need for an enchilada. stop by, you wont be wowed, but you will get your fix.

Pretty much the only show in town for authentic Mexican food in West Bend. Service is usually pretty good, although it was Better Before they moved to the new location(growing pains?) I hope so because the food is good. My only complaint is that they are a little stingy with the Salsa and if you come with 4 or more people your pretty much constantly looking for the waitress to bring you more. Their standard size salsa container holds about a quarter of a cup and that’s it. My advice, is loosen up on the Salsa, charge me for it, I don’t care, just bring me some! Update 08÷16÷10 stopped back here again and this place seems like it’s going down hill. stopped in for lunch and was one of about 4 other tables in the place. food was pretty plain, plates looked like crap, waitress sucked and still stingy with the old bland salsa. I hope they turn ship around because they are fading fast.

I like going here for lunch. I LOVE their avocado tacos, but it isn’t the best Mexican ever. The staff will bend over backwards to make you happy though. It’s my pick for Mexican in West Bend.

This is my favorite breakfast place. I go here once a week. I have one egg with red sauce, one with green sauce, rice and beans. I also have a coffee(sometimes with cinnamon) and a rice milk. It is delicious. The service is friendly and fast. The restaurant is very clean. I have also gone there for other meals, but the breakfast is amazing. I love to combine breakfast and a walk through the farmer’s market. They have moved down the street. The new address is 150 S Main St, West Bend, WI.
