I have reviewed the one in Livonia and grew up going to that one. I every so often come to the one in West Bloomfield and only do so when I am dragged by relatives or friends that live in that end of town. The food is not as good, the portion size is smaller, and they make you pay for«extras» that you get for free at the place in Livonia(you get one round of chips in West Bloomfield and each extra round you have to pay for, for example). Although the food is OK it is much better to make the drive to Livonia.

Have to start with… If you’re dining somewhere they should keep the kitchen open for dessert and after drinks or at least give you a heads up and ask. Restaurant was dead when we came in so you would think that service would be up to par. Madison our server was friendly and prompt on getting our food and refills. The good was also good. Same standards as I’ve always had here, which is why I gave them 3 stars, until we tried to order dessert and after dinner drinks. We were told sorry the kitchen is closed. It is unacceptable! It was only 9:10. We weren’t told there was a last call or asked if we would be wanting to order dessert before they closed. Very poor customer service! *Quick update — The manager overheard my husband and I speaking on the way out and apologized. He also extended a free to dessert to us next time to make up for things.

Had a great time celebrating our daughter in law’s birthday. Both food and service were great. Thanks. The Nook is one of our favorite restaurants!

This restaurant is horrible. We eat here prob once a year, and each time i say were never coming back. Now i’m writing it down so i’ll be sure to remember. First, I broke my Golden Rule — no carryout Mexican. I like crunchy items, and these items dont make it home crunchy. The mexican pizza is the worst ive ever had. Taco Bell would have been better. The hard tacos are so greasy. The mild salsa tastes like thick tomato sauce. I honestly cant find one nice thing to say… Ok. Their chips are good. But who can F up homemade tortilla chips??? Never. Eating. Here. Again.

Always love The Nook! Very strong margaritas never fail. The shredded beef is a great Tex-Mex flavor. My favorite is substituting it into the beef and cheese enchiladas! If you are having trouble deciding the combinations are awesome. I haven’t been disappointed by the Fiesta or The Tia Juana Bypass! Come in hungry and leave happy!

Greeted by a friendly hostess and our waitress Jennifer was outstanding, observant, responsive, friendly and gracious. Food came out in a speedy time and was perfectly made. She brought extra bowls of chips and PoP refills without us even asking. Portion siZes were reasonable. $ 43 for a family of 5 with a beer. What impressed me most was the cleanliness of the establishment. I did not have high hopes, and they exceeded my expectation. I would actually bring my clean freak friends here. A great pic for some neighborhood Mexican!

Serving sizes are shrinking; prices rising. quality is about the same as last review. Wait staff really needs refreshing. these older middle age women are getting sour. last visit waitress chastised hubby cause we ask for a chip refill. noted the single customers got their own basket of chips to themselves. why shouldn’t a couple. will think twice(or more) before returning again.

Waitress is very nice and respectful. The burrito was so messy, meat falling from both sides, no creativity into the food. Wish they were more. clean on the plate they serve out.

You know a restaurant is doing something right if it’s been open since 1946 — which is the case for El Nibble Nook! This Mexican restaurant serves up a wide array of yummy tex-mex dishes, where you can get a quick meal for a great price. With locations in both West Bloomfield and Livonia, this is the spot I love for a weekday dinner out. The entrees here are massive! I love the combo meals because you get a little bit of everything and they will run you $ 10-$ 12. Chips and salsa are complimentary but appetizers are anywhere from $ 5-$ 9 and all other entrees cost $ 6-$ 27. The vibe at El Nibble Nook is simple, comfortable and homey. It’s a casual restaurant where I always feel comfortable stoping in on a Tuesday night to enjoy a quick meal and a margarita.

The ambiance is charming and this place is super cute. Unfortunately, the food is crap. It’s hard to mess up Mexican food but even the salsa is disgusting. I want this place to be great because it’s so cute and I love the low twinkle lighting but it’s just kinda bad. If someone could go in and revamp the menu and run some great specials this place would be booming but right now it’s just sitting there remembering how awesome it probably once was.

I have been a fan of this restaurant for over 40 years. I’m sad to say, tonight was the last trip. My husband and I travel from Dexter to go there. Where to start, the chips were stale, the cole slaw tasted old, the enchiladas went from three to two, there was way too much sauce and sour cream(the recipe for the sauce had obviously been altered) and there was an inordinate amount of beans and rice. The only redeeming feature of this mess was the Fried Ice Cream. So another go to restaurant is gone, I’ll miss what used to be El Nibble Nook.

At my father’s suggestion, we ate at El Nibble Nook last night. I hadn’t been there in a while and thought we could give it a try. Nothing was terrible, it just wasn’t good. My parents shared fajitas which were basically flavorless. I am on a low carb eating plan so I had the taco salad with chicken. It was chincy — more like a side salad to which they added a few slices of chicken and avocado. At 12.99, it had a very low price to value ratio. Very disappointing. There are plenty of better Mexican restaurants in the area.

Visiting my parents we came here for my last night before I headed out of town. It’s OK. It has sentimental meaning to my parents. Food was fair. Place was pretty much empty. Service decent. There have got to be better places for Mexican fare to go.

This place is just gross. I wish my friend didn’t like it here or else I wouldn’t go. When I go to any establishment that serves food and beverages I don’t want to flag down bartenders that aren’t busy in order to get any type of service. For instance, can we get a menu? Do you think we can place our order now? Don’t you usually have chips? Can I please get a water? Come on now. I’m not that uppity but the staff isn’t attentive. I ordered what I though was a beef chimichanga. I’m getting close to forty and I’d like to think I know the difference between beef and chicken at my age. Hell, it tasted like BBQ pulled pork. I wish«Mexican» restaurants would serve things a la carte because I don’t need below average beans, rice or iceberg lettuce. I have a nasty tummy ache and I’m cursing myself that I didn’t tell my friend I don’t like it here.

The food is very good. I like how they have combination items so you can try different items. The broccoli mushroom soft taco is excellent. It is nice how you can choice the type of salsa you want. The wait staff is very attentive also. The only compliant is the hostess needs a attitude adjustment.

This is your standard fair Mexican with added Americanization. The coleslaw is really good and its good to see that they redid the menu recently… They put the picadores back on the menu which is a big plus. All you can eat chips when you sit down with your pick of three salsas is a plus. Try the fajitas for two.

I had low expectations going in knowing that this isn’t a real Mexican restaurant. We start out with zucchini fries which are undercooked but it’s ok since it’s veggies. No seasoning that I can tell and the ranch dressing doesn’t add much. I figure I will go with something that is difficult to screw up so I go with the beef fajitas. Supposedly filet Mignon which is unusual to say the least. I ask it to be cooked medium but it comes out over cooked. The presentation is disappointing, it doesn’t come on a skillet but on a plate with a mixture of overcooked and undercooked food like the bell peppers and onions. The flour tortillas look and taste store bought and comes folded on the same plate. This was by far the worst fajitas I’ve had in my entire life. The only upside is that the service was pretty good and I didn’t end up with any stomach problems afterwards what a relief!

I think El Nibble Nook must have recently gotten a menu redo. And maybe a new chef. In the past, the only real reason to go to this location was their margarita, because the food quality was adequate at best. This past visit, the margarita was still superb, and the food freshness and preparation quality were well above average.
