This is hands down my favorite go to place! Their coleslaw is so tasty and fresh. Portion sizes are beyond filling. The service is excellent. Ask for Jade! She makes the experience here x10 better.

First time at this location and it was actually a little bit more pleasant experience than the one in Royal Oak. We weren’t cramped in, there was room to move, the bar area and dining area are all beautifully decorated. All and all it was very pleasing to look at. The menu as usual was spectacular. I am completely in love with their seafood chowder. The only thing that bummed out this experience were the nosey nancies who were sitting next to us who just insisted on listening to our conversation as much as possible and so many other rude behaviors to list here. Can’t blame the restaurant for that. Great as always!

Red Coat is a great place to go to. I like that Red Coat is opened until 2am. This is my «go to restaurant» late at night. The restaurant closes at 1:30. The burgers and mac & cheese are awesome. Friendly Staff

I enjoyed my dinner at Red Coat Tavern. The Brasserie burger was delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I will return to enjoy that particular burger.

Simply put… one of my top 5 places to eat. I’ve had quite a few different choices from the menu and I’m never disappointed. Service is always prompt and accurate Highly recommended

Amazing gourmet burgers in a nice atmosphere. The fish and chips are also very good. It’s a popular spot, so be prepared for a wait, but I always think it’s well worth it.

If it came close to the hype, I would have given it the 4 stars it so «publicly» deserves… The burger that everyone talks about is well average at best. There was three ordered at our table and two of the three were not the correct temperature, for a burger joint the temperature of the burger is of utmost importance. Medium rare should be medium rare NOTRARE, the medium should be medium(warm pink center) not WELL Done? That being said the fries are normal average fries and the onion rings are defiantly the star here. The drinks are well drinks and the service is ok. Nothing to get excited about, waited forever to try… should have saved the $ 15 and had a burger anywhere else and enjoyed a rare average burger. Maybe the Woodward location is better, this one is a miss, so sorry!

For a place that is known for their burgers, the ambiance is very bougie(in a good way). At 8pm on a monday, they may have a wait… The food is just that good. While waiting, make sure you pop on over to the bar & grab something to drink. The bartending staff is very helpful & are very familiar with their drink menu, especially when it comes to their wines– they have very interesting wines that i haven’t seen at restaurants elsewhere. When it comes to food, their burgers are a must but everything on their menu is wonderful. I love their filets(substitute the entrée side salad for the caesar.

Excellent burger and we rarely eat those. Overpriced wine(;() Calamari also looks good. Ambience is warm and festive. Very nice bartendress.

Great meal, the restaurant was the place to be on Friday night. We had 8 people in our dinner party and the service was impeccable. Nick Walby is the man! He totally gave us the white glove treatment. If you get the opportunity make sure you ask for Nick, hand’s down the best service I have had in a long, long time from any high end restaurant.

Pros: Great burgers and food in general, impressive beer selection and excellent service(very professional). Cons: Always busy so call ahead 1 hour before you arrive. Honestly, the waitstaff can be spotty here — the male servers can be less than professional but the ladies are top notch, and the management is stellar. Service is fast and the food is awesome. Not the cheapest in town but you get what you pay for.

I love this place. The lightening is dim and romantic; however, that is disrupted by the loud noise of the crowd. The food is always great, especially their calamari. The waitresses are very professional and polite.

I can’t say enough about the bartenders service here. I do like the food,(tenderloin tips, Mac & cheese).but the real reason I return weekly is because the bartenders are amazing. I’ve been there probably 40 times and NEVER had bad service.

I go to redcoat consistently. Although I don’t care for the food, I like the atmosphere. Several encounters where I got a cup with lipstick on it, one with lemon peels inside. It’s just disgusting but I do go once again because Friends enjoy it for the drinks. Just be careful with your cups and silverware because I don’t think it’s very clean. Which food scares me too.

The signature burger is the go to. All the best toppings, great meat flavor, and at very cheap price. Only ding is that the ghost peppers either had no heat or… They forgot to put it on my burger. Not a fan of the sides bring their own order, but not entirely sure if that’s a regional thing. Clean bathrooms a big plus.

This is the second Red Coat Tavern, with the original one in Royal Oak. I’ve always liked the Royal Oak one, though it’s always quite a wait there. I finally found an opportunity to try this one in West Bloomfield. First, the menu looks pretty much the same as the one in Royal Oak. Knowing this, I know the burgers are solid as usual. My kids ordered a burger to share since they have no kids menu with kids size portions. They’re used to this since they offered to split the burger for us and serve it on two plates. So what happens if you only have one kid? Weird. They also split the fries. The burger(I tried a piece) was a good burger. Compared to many of the burgers that are out there these days, Red Coat has a traditional burger that’s meaty and with a normal bun. Quality beef. You can customize it, and that’s probably the most interesting on the menu. My kids aren’t that adventurous, so they had cheese and ketchup. The fries are your typical thin cut fries. I had the salmon dinner. It came with vegetables. Nothing exciting, but it was solid. We also had mussels for a starter. It was okay as well. So, in all, it was an okay meal with nothing special about it. Not bad. Not great. From a food perspective. The service was slow. The place was crowded. The Royal Oak one was always like that. I would have thought they would have fixed the layout to improve that in the new one, but it wasn’t much better. The West Bloomfield gets you the typical food that the Royal Oak one has except missing the old atmosphere, which was probably the most interesting part of Red Coat.

Come here for the Piedmontese Burgers. Its hard to believe better for you than a Chicken Breast being they taste so good. Add Rye bread, the amazing zip sauce, lettuce, tomato and mushrooms and in heaven. Waitress was super friendly and burger was cooked perfectly. I wish more places had piedmontese beef!
