i am used to visit the dearborn location to get baklawa but this is my first visit in this location. This isn’t as busy location as the dearborn one and there is no noise. hope because they dont have factory preparation here. Visited in the evening time to have coffee. Going to shatila bakery and having coffee alone wouldnt be good right when you see those many pasteries in front of you. Had hazelnut roll and almond bool also. Coffee was excellent as well hazelnut roll. But the almond bool was little hard. As well as got ice cream(pistachio) for home. Every spoon of ice cream, you get nuts. I felt like eating nuts with little ice cream.

I am a huge fan of the Dearborn store and was delighted to happen across this place. Unfortunately, this is a watered down version of the Dearborn store. It has an assortment of their most popular items, but the best part of this bakery is sheer volume of goodies they produce and display. All said, this is not a replacement for the real thing, but I am glad to know I can get some of their tiramisu without taking a road trip.

Good place to have snacks and the coffee is really good. Make sure you ask for fresh coffee though.

Great ice cream, nice atmosphere(esp. in the summer with outdoor seating). Their cappuccino and lattes taste delicious! I just wish they had more indoor seating and was a bit more spacious.

I got the napoleon and the vanilla fruit tart. The vanilla fruit tart was quite good. It wasn’t too overly sweet and the fruit complemented it very well. The napoleon was disappointing. It tasted stale. There was no/very little cream in between the soggy puff pastry. It tasted like cardboard. The ambiance was good. It’s quite a nice looking shop.

Very disappointed! Every time I get their cake I come home and its old and dry! So my last visit there while I was picking up our usual Ice Cream I thought I will give them another try and I specifically told the person behind the counter that was helping me the issue and she made sure that ALLTHEIRCAKEISFRESH! NOT!!! Will not be buying ever again. So unprofessional.

As I was trying to navigate around road work, I came across this bakery/café. Lit up in the evening, the location showcases a variety of Middle Eastern and French pastries along the front and ice cream towards the back. Chatting friends sat cozily around small bistro tables. Still full from dinner, I was only able to sample a few lovely items. I liked the awamat, small balls of fried dough that were lightly sweetened. The treat was crunchy with just the right proportion of sweet syrup. The baklava featured flaky and buttery pastry, chopped pistachios, and sweet syrup. Each bite was a wonderful combination of salty and sweet, and crunchy of course. I was delighted to find another source for yummy baklava. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the mushabak, batter fried to resemble lattice lace work. The texture was a weird combination of soggy and crispy, although I did like the sweet flavor. I did not think of it, but will next time around, as I am still searching for a tulumba, a treat that I enjoyed immensely as a kid. I’ll be back, but only after the traffic headaches are cleared.
Craving kanafa. …Reno Nv —I ordered off their website the cheese kanafa it was mediocre, next day delivery. It was a little too expensive I won’t do that again. Tastes better when its fresh homemade straight out the oven

I first started coming here when it was still called«Pistachio’s.» I’m so happy we have such a nice café in the area! The quality has been consistent. I’m in love with their ice cream. I can’t pick a favorite flavor– I’ve tried(and loved!) the Kashta(rose water) Pistachio, the apricot, the lemon, and the coconut flavors! Sooo creamy and good. They serve lavazza coffee here. My cappuccino today was smooth and slightly dry, not bitter and not sweet. Just lovely. The pastries are always made fresh. I’ll definitely be visiting Shatila regularly, I want to sample everything.

Sera and Sama are the two lovely ladies that typically work at this location. Their service is prompt and both are quick to smile. I love the fruit ice creams. Wonderful tastes and smooth textures.

I’ve been told that Shatila has some of the best baklava in the US, and I do not dispute it. As a fan of everything and anything soaked in sugar syrup I have tried a lot of baklavas and they definitely make some of the best I’ve eaten. I haven’t actually sat down there but the café looks nice and is on my list of places to have a coffee and spend an hour or so at. We also tried some of their other stuff but it wasn’t as good as the baklava. If you’re in the neighborhood, go pick some up for dessert.

The selection was ok. Presentation of the desserts were real good, but that’s about all. I didn’t care too much for the taste. The chocolate thing I had was dry and hard and the vanilla fruit cake thing was ok. Overall too sweet for me. Only thing I liked was the coffee. I’d go back for coffee. I’m sure the ice cream they have is better. I had the coconut flavor and it was ok, I wouldn’t get it again. I probably won’t come back cuz there are plenty of other dessert shops i like better.

Any Arab person knows about this place. Anyone who’s gone to Dearborn has probably gone to this place as well to get some Arab sweets to take home with them. This place is extremely popular when you go there, and you’ll find out why when you get there. Stacks upon stacks of different kinds of pastries, More than I ever knew existed. Things covered in honey and almonds and who knows what else, it’s all delicious. You can’t go wrong by going there. If you ever go up to Dearborn Michigan, make sure you stop by here before you leave.

The Farmington Hills area doesn’t have much to offer for a cozy coffee shop(separate from the corporate places: Starbucks, Timmy Ho’s, etc.) with really awesome coffee. Stumbled across Shatila Bakery on a search for the best place to have a great cup of coffee, a small bite to eat, and do some work. Shatila definitely fits the bill. The only complaint I have is that the WiFi isn’t super high speed — but honestly, I’d rather wait the extra milliseconds if it means 1) I’ll get an intimate work space 2) that’s not crowded and 3) that has probably the best baklava I’ve ever tasted. I get a sizable cup of coffee and a piece of baklava for $ 2.75 — the same price I’d pay for a large cup at Starbucks or someplace else.

First off place has now been renamed Shatila. Second the desserts and pastries and all else is delicious. Stopped in after dinner and had some dessert and the pastries were moist and fluffy. Prices were very reasonable for two pieces of cake came to $ 5. Have a nice seating area where were able to enjoy and the workers which looked like the owners were very helpful and friendly in helping us decide what to have.

When we had been looking for something sweet after dinner, and a good, rich cup of coffee to go with it, in a cosmopolitan atmosphere, Pistachio’s on Maple Road in West Bloomfield always fit the bill. Now this location has undergone a change of name and ownership, but the hospitality, delicious Middle Eastern and European pastries and coffee, and comfy ambiance remain. Open as Shatilla only three weeks at this writing, this small dessert haven(or should I say dessert heaven, since that’s what it is) is the second location for the establishment. The first location is in Dearborn, where anyone offering Middle Eastern fare had better get it right, or risk being instantly outed and shunned. No problem — Shatila gets it just right. We shared an incredibly rich piece of cake featuring chocolate and cream filling in concentric circles. Don’t know the name, but I’d point to it again in a heartbeat. The coffee accompanying our cake was up to the task. Service, by counter staff wearing black surgical gloves, was graciously smooth and efficient. As with the prior establishment, the clientele at Shatilla was an interesting mix of nationalities. If we are looking for a way to bring the world in harmony, a shared love of good desserts and coffee is not a bad place to start. Bravo, Shatilla. We’ll be back — count on it.

I am so glad that I finally let my curiosity get the best of me to venture into this lovely café tucked away in W. Bloomfield. The Turkish coffee was wonderful and the rose water gelato was delicately sweet. Ziyad, the owner, is a singer/musician who offers entertainment on Saturday evenings… by RSVP. The atmosphere is intimate. I will bring my friends and recommend it to anyone who wants a pleasant café experience different from those other commercialized places… here there and everywhere.

We discovered this place purely by accident while searching for a coffeehouse here on Unilocal. The ambience is excellent, the coffee is good, and the food is amazing. There’s a staggering assortment of sweet and savory pastries available. The owner is a very charming and solicitous fellow, too. I can’t think of a better coffeehouse anywhere every remotely nearby.
