I love the Stage, and I go way back to the Nine Mile and Greenfield days! Our favorite waitress would say«Och! Don’t order that today– you don’t know who is in the kitchen.» Sorry. We thought it was hysterical then. Can you imagine that today? Today, though… Beautifully immaculately clean, the food is always outstanding, service lovely, professional and timely. Try the Israeli salad

The best high quality comfort food. Their country chicken noodle soup is the best chicken noodle you will ever have. Just like moms!

Just terrific food. What you should expect from a great deli! The staff was attentive and didn’t rush us. The atmosphere was friendly with lots of families. The menu variety would satisfy a variety of cravings from very hearty sandwiches to lighter salads and soups. I will come back again

This is the restaurant I would pick if I could only eat at one place for the rest of my life. I have been eating at Stage since I was 2. My grandparents would order me matzo ball soup and waiters and patrons alike would be shocked when I ate the whole thing. These days, I still enjoy the matzo balls, but I’ve sampled quite a few items on the menu and I’ve never ever had anything that wasn’t WOW. The menu is huge — and everything on it is great! How many restaurants can say that? Things I long for while at home in Columbus, Ohio? –Mark Beltaire salad –All of the soup –The Russian Ruben –Crisp thick cut steak fries –Old dill pickles –Stage’s house-baked seedless rye

Heading to one of my favorite deli’s. Hoping waiter Joey? will be there. He’s The best waiter we’ve had at the stage. I luv the Matzah ball soup. The rye & onion bread they serve when I sit down are also pretty delicious.

Awesome deli in metro Detroit. Huge selection of deli sandwiches, dinner plates, soups, salads, and breakfast. The matzo ball soup was amazing and the pastrami was delicious. I would love to come back here for breakfast. This will definitely be a stop for me when I travel back through Michigan again!

Love«the lion king» — best pastrami in MIchigan!!! The combination of hot pastrami in rye bread with Swiss cheese is divine.

My First Visit here and was not Too Bad. The Waitress was friendly and they have the free sliced sweet and sour pickle«antipasta» I ordered one of the soups and the Matzoh Brei. Let me tell you how we make matzoh Brie in MY Family(pay ATTENTION-Stage Deli!) You break up the Matzos and pour warm water on them in a Colander. Then you break three eggs and beat them well in a bowl and mix the matzohs in. Add a tablespoon of stick butter and fry them in oil. BTW-WE like to add granulated sugar instead of salt. I don’t know WHAT they do in this restaurant?! It looks like they scramble the eggs and Then mix the matzohs in as an afterthought. The egg and matzoh are in NO way integrated together in their version.

I have been coming here since 2008, the service here is great the food is always delicious from the traditional sandwiches, breakfast, or burger. I have never had a bad meal or experience here. I always recommend stage for someone who wants s great cornbeef or pastrami but there menu is so diverse it gives a lot of great options for someone not craving a deli sandwich

This place is near my work, and they finally finished building that darn roundabout at orchard lake &14 mile, so I decided it was time to check this place out :) I’m not typically one to spend $ 13-$ 18 on a sandwich, but let me tell you, it’s worth the money. They use high quality ingredients, and the sandwiches are HUGE! So huge, I had to pretty much cut it and eat it with a fork. I got the #6 and my husband got the #10. I live about 30 mins from this place, so we didn’t get to eat them fresh out of the kitchen, but I still thought the sandwiches were delicious, and I could hardly finish half of it, so leftovers for lunch tomorrow :) I will definitely be back to try some of the other items they serve.

Best deli… Nicest hostess & staff! Always bring my out if town family here when they ask for good, Jewish deli. This is the place!

Hands down my favorite deli in metro Detroit. First of all this place makes me feel at home, being Jewish and all. Their selection of smoked and pickled fish and salami is out of bounds. The sandwich menu is giant and full of delicious combinations. One of my favorite things to get on the menu is the deluxe beet borscht, it is seriously amazing. If you want a deli to make you feel like you’re in New York hanging out with your old Jewish relatives then this is the spot

Pros: tasty food Cons: overpriced dishes, poor service, messy restroom facilities, and cramped dining quarters My server, when she did appear, didn’t bother to greet me, apologize for my wait, or ask if I had any questions. She simply asked if I was ready to order. She seemed irritated, or at the very least indifferent, at the prospect of serving me, and once she brought my food I never saw her again. I could tell the restaurant was busy but I would have had far more sympathy for my server if she had cared enough to check back – even if it was just a «need anything else?» in passing. The food itself(I had the salmon salad) was very good and well prepared. The salmon portion however was quite meager for a $ 15 salad. Overall the experience was rather disappointing. With all the options out here, I don’t believe I will bother returning.

For the last 3 years I protested myself from this place just because my first time was not the greatest experience. However this last week I’ve already gone twice :) I have officially become a stage fan. I ordered the Kale Salad with Salmon both times. And it is soo good. Also, the Lemon chicken was fabulous. Service is okay but that won’t stop me again from Protesting. Thank you Stage Deli!

Why only 3-Stars? Value. Lack of … Breakfast for two was $ 40, including a 15% tip. I am unaccustomed to spending $ 40 for our Sunday breakfast and NYT ritual. Unilocal says that 3-stars is «A-OK.» Our breakfast and service was simply A-OK. Nothing special. That same $ 40 would buy BIG flavors and artisanal touches at Frittata(Clawson). But that’s a «let’s splurge» breakfast event … We ordered the 9 Mile Omelette(corned beef & swiss) and bagel &(smoked) lox. Our beverages were fresh OJ and decaf. The lox lacked flavor and had no hint of being smoked. I’m pretty certain the menu mentioned«smoked.» The bagel and rye toast were terrific. The cream cheese was room temp(good) and easily spread, not a cold-frozen blob. We arrived ~9:20AM and were only the 4th table. By 10AM, business began increasing. We were promptly and pleasantly welcomed and seated in a comfortable booth by the windows. Our server was prompt, knowledgeable and reasonably attentive. The kitchen got our food out quickly. Hot food, hot. Cold food, cold. I asked for milk for my decaf … no milk available. Huh? Breakfast? No milk? Also, no WiFi. On my Sept 2014 visit, I would have sworn that I was told WiFi was«Coming Soon.» No ritual reading of my Sunday NYT. Grrr. Nor was there WiFi close enough to leech off of. I love the space and contemporary fit-out. Plenty of room between tables for customers and staff to circulate without unnecessary bump & grind. CCW friendly.

We love this place! We started with the sandwiches, Corned Beef with Swiss and Cole Slaw for me(delicious) and the Some Like It Hot(pastrami) for Ken. We’ve since branched out to other sandwiches — the chopped liver is amazing — Matzo Ball soup(love the presentation). I often get a side of fruit instead of the shoestring fries. Our favorite app is the BBQ Salami, which is hunks of salami(and I mean hunks!) served on a sizzling platter with a side of what I think may be apricot jam. We’ve had the waiter pour it over so it caramelizes on the plate, and we’ve dipped semi-blackened chunks in the cup of sauce. Both ways are yummy. Breakfast is delicious too. The Nova Lox are sooo good! I’ve had them mixed with scrambled eggs and caramelized onions(yum) and with bagel and cream cheese(yum). Their pancakes and waffles are great too. We’ve not had a bad meal! Fancier interior than any other deli I’ve been to(including NY). Clean. Great service — our favorite waiter is Calvin. Gets busy on weekends.

When you walk in, you notice that this is a classy joint — though the patrons are not dressed up. The décor here is pretty neat with several celebrity prints on the walls. The chairs here were very comfy… soooo comfy! The food was okay, a little over priced for the portion size — but you are paying for quality, not quantity. My wife and I both enjoyed omelets that were cooked perfectly. The coffee here was really good and our waitress was very attentive to our table. We only stopped here because we were getting some auto work done just down the road. Now we know about this place, we might make a special trip just to go here.

The food was a strong three stars, but the service added another star! The menu is really cool. Sandwiches, salads, fish, bagels, breakast, coffee drinks, etc. They have something from breakfast to dessert! I ended up having a breakfast sandwich with a fried pickle! The sandwich was good. It was served on hearty brioche bread with cheese, eggs(I had my over medium), and bacon. The sandwich came with a spicy mayo, which was good, but if I ordered it again, I would get it without the mayo. There was way too much. In addition, I would eat it open faced. It was really messy! The fried pickle was ok. There wasn’t any seasoning(or very little) in the breading and it was more like a cucumber spear than anything. If you were expecting something like pickle chips, think again. I had a cappuccino to drink and it was delicious! I would have to say the customer service was really what made the meal wonderful. Calvin, the waiter was so kind, and friendly. I have to give big props to someone who kept calling me «my lady». Like I said, the menu is extensive, and there is no doubt you could easily find something for any type of meal or taste! Great location!
