Rams Deli Plus

«Plus» has it all– high quality deli items, halal chicken over rice, and a wide variety of craft brew. Additionally, the employees are very friendly and fair– unlike their rivals at Best Deli.

Come here often as it’s close to my apartment. Has all the basics as far as groceries and a wide selection of crackers, drinks, beers and such. I don’t have their sandwiches and burgers super often but I liked what I’ve gotten, and the fact that it’s open 24hrs is the best thing ever for night owls that get hungry

Now that I’ve had a chance to return to Rams Deli Plus a couple of times and sample their beer, snacks, and prepared deli foods I would definitely still recommend them highly. I went for a (very tasty) pastrami, egg, and cheese breakfast hero and an energy drink which set me back a total of $ 7. The staff is friendly, they have a surprisingly wide selection of beers (including two Icelandic beers!), and they have a (standard) $ 5 minimum for credit cards. While the nearby beer cave might have an objectively larger selection of beers, Rams has a much higher percentage of quality craft beers than its direct competition. Overall, while Rams Deli Plus isn’t anything spectacular, it is a really solid place that shouldn’t disappoint.

As far as Bronx bodegas/​delis go, Rams Deli Plus is one of the best. Don’t be fooled by «Best Deli» a few blocks west on Fordham Road– Rams Deli Plus is friendlier, faster, and their menu is much better than that of «Best.» My favorite is the Fat Boy sandwich, which is breaded chicken, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ranch on a large hero for just $ 6. They also have a great bacon egg & cheese sandwich. Rams Deli Plus also has a solid beer selection that rivals nearby Beer Cave and 7-​Eleven. Having had multiple bad experiences buying food at Best, I’m writing this review to stress that RDP has a better priced, better quality menu than «Best» and the staff is far friendlier.
