Tastee Freez

I happened upon this little spot after an article in the paper. I am not even a meat eater but I got a burger. Holy heck, I was in heaven. The burger was one of the BEST I have ever had. Delicious. Also had some fries, and then of course, some tasty ice cream.
The owner toom time to ask how everything was and even chatted with us for a bit. Awesome! You can bet I’ll be back!

Nothing makes a town more memorable as a child than good olde Soft Serve ice cream! My boyfriend finally took me here to Tastee Freez in We-​Go after sharing many childhood memories. I don’t think this place has changed much either with its classic neon signs and chipping paint. As for their infamous dessert, no matter where I go for the Twist (Chocolate & Vanilla) machine-​style ice cream (Dairy Queen, Dairy Dream, etc), I gotta have it dipped in that sweetly delicious cherry flavoring. If you really got an appetite or a group that ain’t worried about germs, get their Banana Split which is huge and full with whipped cream.
If you can’t find Tastee Freez, just look for the giant West Chicago water tower that is located right behind the small ice cream shack.
