I had a great time here! Not sure if it was their top notch service or just the sake talking. Anyways, good thing I made a reservation for my party the night before. We got seated within 5 minutes for a party of 6 on a busy Saturday night. The restaurant was a lot smaller than I thought. For some strange reason, I just assumed that all AYCE sushi restaurants are big and spacious. It was most of our first time here so we had tons of questions regarding how the AYCE works since I see that you can also just order by rolls. Our server, Alvin, was very helpful in assisting us. Since we’re a party of 6, they require at least half of us to do AYCE and the other half can order individually. Looking at the prices of each roll, you might as well get AYCE since each roll is around $ 5 – 15(depending on which one) and AYCE is $ 23.95 each(dinner price from 3−10pm). So my whole party did AYCE and we just order a bunch of different rolls to share. The food came out very quickly and we were constantly checked up whether if it’s more water, more ginger, or just to see how we like the food. The fish to rice ratio is shocking like WOW! They literally give you 1⁄3 of the rice portion what other restaurant gives you. In terms of the freshness of their fish, it’s a 3 but their variety of choices and service makes up the other star. That night, we were celebrating my friend’s birthday and as we brought in the cake, the whole restaurant started singing with us. Our server, Alvin, even offered to give the birthday girl a mochi ice cream of her choice. We joked around asking if we can each get one but he said no unfortunately. Then he came back with 3 of them cut in halves for the 6 of us to share. Since he was being so nice and attentive to our table, we offered him a slice of the cheesecake. Couple minutes later, he came back and offered us free green tea ice cream. At that point, we were already so full from the sushi and dessert BUT there were a few of us that just couldn’t say no to green tea ice cream. Yup, definitely gained 10 pounds from that night.

My first time here at this AYCE sushi. Their sushi selection is awesome. What I love the most is their«no rice special rolls». The sushi chef is extremely nice. He gave a lot of free creations on the house. I will definitely come back again. I highly recommended. Tip: Always finish off with green tea ice cream at the end :)

I love and hate this place. The staff is hit or miss. Sometimes we get an amazing server who goes above and beyond to make their customers happy. Other times we get shitty service from someone who just can’t even. Like literally walks around with a scowl all day long. The fish to rice ratio is some of, if not the best I’ve ever seen. Amazing value here if you know what you’re getting. That being said. Every single damn time I’ve been here, the servers have always said that they’re out of uni. I swear that they offer 2 pieces of uni on their menu just to attract customers. At first I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but then I came on a weekend thirty minutes after they opened and guess what? «We ran out of uni for today.» If you’re going to bullshit me, I think the least you could do is offer more of something else that was limited to 2 pieces. I’ve come here in parties of 2, 3, 5, and 8. I feel obligated to share my experience because AYCE and sushi are my passions. That being said, I don’t feel like going out of my way just to dine here anymore. My satisfaction with this restaurant declined with every visit until the one breaking point when I could taste the decaying quality in the salmon. As an AYCE business, I understand and respect that we shouldn’t expect the highest grade quality of sushi in the biz, but on the same note I think it’s wrong to deliberately serve customers food that could make them seriously ill. From such a strikeout, one would assume that I would immediately give this place one star, but to be fair this place is in every sense of the phrase«A-OK». Proceed with caution, YMMV.

I sometimes come here by myself(Well I did last time after work). Good thing about it is since you are a solo eater which means you can find seats at the bar or else, you will find yourself waiting for at least 40 minutes. Servers are always nice and helpful. Chefs are normals. Food are good, the only thing is the wait. If you are a solo eater like me, do bring a companion agent, like your phone, a book. majority of the people here are couples or groups of people.

Came here for dinner around 6:30 with a friend and were seated right away. For an AYCE we tend to take our time eating to enjoy our food so we don’t get stuffed too fast and eventually continue eating MORE. Food came out pretty quickly after our orders were placed and the rice to fish portion wasn’t bad. Most places try to give you more rice so you’ll get fuller faster. During our last round, parties were starting to arrive and I could see that all the servers were eager for us to leave because every 30 seconds a server would come by and ask if we were done yet. NO. I hate being rushed. We just wanted to enjoy the last bit of our rolls and have our ice cream. If you’re not really into customer service and just want the AYCE, come thru, it’s lit. But if it gets started crowded, you’re going to be rushed.

I loved this place. Both the food and the price was great! We ordered a lot! All the limited ones(soft shell crab, sea urchin, oyster, and one other fish) and around 30−45pieces of quality seafood. This might not be the best sushi place that you are ever going to dine at but it would worth every penny you’ve paid for. If you are looking for an all-you-can-eat sushi place, I highly recommend this one.

I know what I’m getting into when I go eat AYCE sushi — lots of rice, questionable fish, and very okay sushi because I’m choosing quantity over quality. Not so here. But my dad, sister, and I had a game plan — nothing heavily rice, because what the heck! They have non rice rolls. We ordered most of the non-rice rolls which are all similar variations of each other — lots of imitation crab dressed in the same marinade, lots of soy paper, and slabs of fish. Favorites included: –ex-girlfriend roll: inside — crabmeat, spicy tuna, outside — soy paper tuna, yellow tail, salmon –zen zen roll: crabmeat wrapped with salmon. Ohhhh so good. Really good. Uhm, the nigiri comes in pairs of two, but there are rules — you can only order a limited amount of uni(very small uni portion). The upside was that the rice that accompanied each piece of fish was considerably small… but that had to offset how incredibly big each slice of fish was. Large slices of fish gross me out. This grossed me out. And the mackerel was very fishy. Other things we ordered: –baked mussels(6 pieces) –fresh oysters(1 per person) –shrimp tempura(5 pieces): good! Lightly battered and enjoyable –soft shell crab(1 per person): pretty good, a little on the salty side, but the crab guts were in tact and i thoroughly enjoyed this dish. The restaurant is tucked in the corner of the plaza without signage. It’s dark — there’s no natural light, and seating is tight, but service is friendly, and overall, good bang for your buck.

Decent AYCE sushi spot. 1 order of soft shell crab, halibut, and oysters — per person. The owners removed white fish/tuna. actually called«escolar» from the menu(thank god… if you are wondering why, please educate yourself: «Disturbingly, 84 percent of fish samples described as ‘white tuna’ were actually escolar… Escolar is a type of snake mackerel that causes uncontrollable, oily, orange diarrhea»). Yum! I am not a huge AYCE sushi fan. I prefer superb quality sushi, and places that offer Omakase. Thus, I would attest that the quality of fish at this restaurant was mediocre. Salmon and halibut are the best sushi-grade quality items on the menu. I do not eat much rice, so I enjoyed their«no rice rolls» option, which is a nice addition to the menu. FYI — 95% of the rolls have fake crab… sad.

Pros No Rice Rolls: Love the idea of having rolls without any of that filling rice for AYCE sushi. The Mt Sac Roll and Sexy Roll were my top favorite from the no rice roll selection. Soft Shell Crab: Best appetizer here, the soft shell crab was savory with a mild citrus taste from the ponzu sauce. Highly recommend since it was 1 order per person. Green Tea Ice Cream: Not on their AYCE menu but the friendly waitresses will give you a scoop if you ask at the end of your meal. Cons: Nigiri: Tried the salmon, tuna, and yellowtail nigiri which all tasted bad especially the salmon. Pretty disappointed with their serving of rubbery fish even though it was an AYCE meal. Cleanliness: The smell inside the restaurant had some odd some funky odor. From the tables to the bathrooms were all dirty. Overall there was some great rolls on their AYCE menu but this was just okay considering they did serve old and rubbery fish.

Upon entering this plaza, the restaurant is difficult to find as it’s hidden in the corner surrounded by construction. But if you see Denny’s, then at least you’re in the right place. It was only half full of patrons on a Saturday afternoon. The boyfriend and I opted for the AYCE deal for $ 21.95. The biggest plus was that although they didn’t offer sashimi, their sushi pieces might as well be sashimi because they give you very minimal rice. The fish to rice ratio was about 5:1, which is awesome! They also have plenty of fish only rolls, which I really liked. I wished I could appreciate them more because I just started to feel way too stuffed. Thank goodness for the boyfriend for finishing most of the food. The sashimi salad was also refreshing and the fresh oysters were delicious with a kick of spice as well although they were only one order per person. To end, we had the matcha green tea ice cream that was so yummy. It was full of matcha flavor and as stuffed as I was, I finished all of my ice cream. Although I’m not big on AYCE places anymore, this is the spot if I ever do want all the sushi in the world.

Five freaking stars. This place ties my other favorite AYCE sushi place(Hoshi in Fullerton) The GREAT: Plain fish and rice sushi– best fish to rice ratio I’ve ever seen! No rice sushi rolls, so many options! Nacho sushi– like an ahi wonton, loved it Angel roll, Zen Zen roll, and Ex Boyfriend roll– drool. Just drool. Bites of heaven AYCE roll– has a little bit of everything The not so great: –Spicy tuna and crispy rice, the rice just gets stuck to your teeth, the consistency was off. –The sexy roll falls apart, not so sexy. –Fantastic four I thought the spicy tuna was overwhelming, I wouldn’t mind if they mixed in some crab to take off the emphasis of tuna. –Soft shell crab. This is just personal preference, I just don’t like the taste of cartilage. hahaha. So why am I giving it five stars despite all the negatives? The good just WAY outweighs the bad. If you JUST ordered sushi you’re getting so much value for your money. Service was great. They even give you free green tea ice cream! Also, we came like 15 minutes late for the lunch price and they still honored it. We left full, but not rolling out because we ate mostly fish and not rice. Thank you AYCE, we’ll be back ASAP!

So it’s been awhile since I’ve visited an AYCE sushi but my friends and I needed a catch up so this place was recommended. The plaza is under some remodeling so there is no name of the restaurant so just head to the corner. Now, this place is tiny and I would recommend getting here around 6 or 6:30. I arrived around 6 and was informed when my whole party arrived to let them know again. Not wanting to lose my spot I did write my name down. This is the part of my review where I’m going to say that I WASN’T happy. So the rest of my friends arrived around 6:20 and we went back inside and my name was crossed out! And all the tables had been seated. Since this place is tiny, I didn’t want to wait inside blocking the only exit. Safety hazard. We did complain as I was told I couldn’t be seated without my group. Not a problem on that part, however, don’t just cross out my name. Once seated, we all did the AYCE and immediately began to order. As other fellow Unilocalers have mentioned, the rice to the fish portion it on point. We did ask for a free sake to sort of makeup for the whole name situation. They obliged. Overall, I don’t think it’s a bad place for AYCE. I’m not sure I’ll come back right away but I’m giving the 4 stars because I had a great time with my friends and the food was pretty good. At the end of the meal, we got our free green tea ice cream!!! The staff is pretty nice and food constantly came out as we kept ordering till we couldn’t eat no more!

I really enjoy AYCE sushi. They have a variety of selections here, nigiri, rolls, etc. The fish is fresh and their sushi is delicious. Some pieces are only limited to one per person such as fresh oysters. But I gotta say, the fresh oysters are really good; it has a good balance between the flavors of the ocean and the sauce they add to the oyster. Awesome. Their fish to rice ratio for their nigiri is very low, so thats a plus. Less rice, more fish in my belly. Overall, service is nice, friendly, and efficient. This place is pretty small and quite busy, so be prepared to wait especially for large parties.

OMGALLYOUCANEATSUSHI! ALLTHESALMONGETINMYBELLY!!! This place a small hole in the wall and it was kind of hard to find at night because they don’t have a sign! It was hidden in the corner inside the plaza. The only sign they have is KIRINSUSHIOPEN! The plaza is going under some construction so some parking spaces are taken and crowded. Upon entering, they greet you. The restaurant is very small. So it can get crowded around dinner time. Service is ok. They keep forgetting to bring my sprite soda 3 times because one waiter poured water in my cup thinking its water. They also charged us 2 sprite soda orders. Moving onto food, ITSALLYOUCANEAT! So, you get 3 rounds. You can order as many as you want on the first round. Usually order a little bit of everything to try and go for more on the second. The good thing is that there is no time limit! I love how they give you small pieces of rice and huge piece of fish! Now thats awesome!!! The sashimi fish is fresh. I love salmon! The salmon here is great! Tuna not so much. All their baked rolls are very good too! Loved the Zen Zen rolls, salmon fish wrapped with imitation crab meat. Definetly will be coming back here again!

Really good sushi place for the price. If you show them your student ID, you get a couple bucks off per person, which really adds up. The sushi is the highest quality, obviously because it’s AYCE, but for an AYCE sushi restaurant, it’s my favorite. I’ve tried many AYCE sushi places and they’re all pretty similar, but the quality is lacking. The only other place that I would go besides here is all the way in San Diego! They give you a lot of fish, and very little rice for your nigiri. The fish to rice ratio is like 5:1, whereas other places try and pack you with rice to save on fish. They do care if you finish all your food or not so try not to over order. My fish recommendation is yellowtail nigiri. They also give you free ice cream at the end, but that might just be for college students.

Amazing deal and definitely worth the 30min drive here. Probably more of a 4star quality place but given the all-you-can-eat AND very small rice-to-fish ratio, this place is easily a 5 star experience. Price is also good for $ 28 dinner after tax. Service is friendly and prompt. Most of the fish cuts are quite good(Salmon and Yellowtail especially). Their soft shell crab, oyster, and Uni are also good but limited to one order each person(the only menu items that are limited). I also enjoyed their huge variety of specialty rolls — most notably the«Zen-zen» and«Angel» roll(one of the«no rice» rolls) and Diablo roll. Sure there are some misfires– their salmon skin roll was not good and their Unagi is mediocre. However overall there are so many positives that it is hard to get hung up over those. Highly recommend this place!

$ 25 all you can eat sushi-pretty typical. BUT the sashimi to rice ratio on their nigiri is what keeps me coming back. It’s seriously a DROP of rice for a big slice of fish! Most AYCE sushi places have so much rice on their nigiri but that fills me up so much quicker. Here I was able to eat at least 2 rounds worth of sushi! You can also order from their appetizer menu as well as hand rolls and specialty rolls. You can write how many of each you want for each round. The service here was amazing! They are so friendly and attentive-we didn’t even have to keep asking for tea, they just kept coming! No complaints for this place at all-they even have a parking lot so can’t even complain about parking! :) I guess if I had to pick something bad is that it’s a bit on the small side as far as the size of the restaurant so it can probably get a bit crowded/have a wait.

First time trying AYCE! Honestly I was really impressed for the first 20 minutes, then it just went downhill from there. I would definitely call myself a AYCE sushi enthusiast, I’ve gone to a good number of ayce sushi restaurants and honestly overall, this place was pretty good. The plaza is currently under construction so it’s a bit difficult to find the place if you haven’t been here, it’s hidden in the corner of the plaza! There’s no huge sign or anything, and the restaurant itself is really small but it was still pretty busy when we went around 3, and around 5 it started getting packed! They offer a lot of options in my opinion, lots of no rice rolls which are my favorite, they offer oyster and uni although it is limited to 1 order per person but not many places offer it at all, so that was impressive! My favorites at the end of the meal was the Angel roll which was a no rice roll with baked salmon wrapped around crab meat and baked scallop I believe? The salmon was nicely cooked, very soft and tender and the sauce was delicious. The rice to fish ratio is great, very small portions of rice compared to other ayce places so hopefully they stay this way. The chicken teriyaki was amazingly tender! I usually don’t eat non-seafood related items at ayce sushi but my boyfriend loves order appetizers so I tried it and I couldn’t stop eating it! It was delicious. The worst part and reason why I said everything went downhill was how slow the service was. Our waiter was very nice and all but we asked if we received everything from our first round and he said he thinks so, so we ask for the paper back for our second round, he leaves, comes back 5 mins later saying we still have stuff left, leaves, comes back another 5 mins later saying he thinks we’re done with our first round… like wait what? LOL. I don’t even know how to react to that, we laugh it off and order our second round which took SUPER long that we started getting full just from the waiting… that was kind of irritating. Also since it got busier it was difficult to wave down a server at all to check on our stuff… so sad. Overall, would I come back? Yeah I probably would. Hopefully they speed up their service though :(the momentum of eating ayce is important!
