This place is great! We only had a chance to try their appetizer section, so we cannot speak to the whole menu. However, 3 appetizers and 2 drinks were enough to make 2 people full for only $ 25! The food was very authentic — I love when Vietnamese restaurants don’t try to dumb down flavors to please more customers. They also had a separate«bar» area to make drinks(I don’t believe they serve alcohol here), so the drinks taste fresh and not just sugary. The restaurant itself is very clean and manned by friendly staff. We are definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes off their menu.

I am a huge fan of their beed loc lac with special fried rice. I wish that their fried rice came standard with both shrimp and Chinese Sausage, but you can order them together if you pay a little extra. I add a little chili oil and voila, a perfect dinner meal!

Decent food and service. I tried couple dishes here and they were alright. Nothing special. The restaurant is clean and it hards to wave down a staff to get more stuff.

My new fave Vietnamese place on the east side! It’s much closer than Santa Ana and it’s far less ghetto than Garden Grove restaurants. We were immediately greeted(and in English!) upon arrival and seated. The décor is nice, clean, modern and not cheap like I’m used to at Asian places. It was comfortable and the place didn’t smell bad at all. The banh beo was actually not too bad! It looked thick, but the texture and the size was thin enough. Still not Hue style, but it was good. Our spring rolls were bomb too. I had the fried shrimp one which was great and he had the grilled meat one and he liked them a lot. This will definitely be a place we frequent when I’m out there!

As far as Vietnamese food in West Covina goes, this place isn’t really that bad. The place is clean and the food they served up is adequate, although I’d stay away from the dishes that are not from the southern Vietnamese cuisine. After the old folks from up north decided to come visit us, we are frantically trying to find a decent Vietnamese restaurant to take them out to eat. After perusing the Unilocal app, we came across this place and it didn’t seem half bad. The menu was extensive and the images actually looked quite delicious. So off we went on a Sunday evening. The place was booming with noise and seemed pretty packed. Good sign so far. Once we were seated, everyone in our group opted to get Noodles. It was either Phở or Bun Bo Hue and a couple of side dishes of egg rolls and a platter of DIY spring rolls. Everything was A-OK except for the Bun Bo Hue. This dish is made famous from the Hue region in Central Vietnam and my parents being from Hue, know a thing or two about this heaping bowl of noodle soup. Where’s the fermented shrimp paste homie? and my ox tail? ehh… They should really stick to making Phở and leave the Bun dishes to restaurants that specialized in the Central and Northern Vietnamese cuisine. Come and try the Phở but skip the Bun and Banh.

Great food! Absolutely surprising. The servers were dumb though. They never tried to look for us when we needed them.

Quan Nem is probably the only Vietnamese restaurant in the area that serves BYO spring rolls. That being said, it doesn’t mean that they’re providing anything of quality. Bun Bo Hue — Disappointingly bland with not enough lemongrass. The color of the soup alone threw me off but when I sampled the first sip, I could tell something was off. Perhaps the cooking process could’ve used more beef bones and fermented shrimp sauce. The portion of meat and pork blood were typical along with the thick, round noodles but the lack of the herbaceous lemongrass threw the entire dish off. DIY Spring Rolls — For a half order, you get enough ingredients to make approximately 6 spring rolls. It includes nem nuong, shrimp rolls, vermicelli and fermented pickled pork. The ingredients weren’t bad but cannot compete with the likes of Summer Rolls and Brodard. I especially liked the fermented pickled pork and ended up eating it by itself. It comes in a small little foil square to keep its cool temperature. As the lone player of its kind in the area, it’s a satisfactory alternative. However, if you’re willing to make the drive, I’d do so and make your way down to Rosemead for something better.

Sorry Phở Ha, but I think I found my new favorite Phở place close to home! Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and we got seated right away. I ordered the combination Phở and it got a good portion of meat, especially at the price of $ 7.50. The broth was light, yet flavorful. The amount of noodle to meat combination was just right and I definitely came out with a very full stomach. Great service and very clean. It is kind of hidden in the corner of the plaza and good luck trying to remember the name to tell people about it! Don’t come on Tuesdays as they are closed — I learned the hard way and had to settle with another place close to this one because I had to satisfy my yearning for phở. Credit cards are accepted.

Few months ago, My wife and I got sick after eating there. However, this place does offer ok food and great service so I can not give this place 1 star. Will try other Vietnamese restaurant in the same plaza and hope for better result.

Friendly staff, good tasting food, and clean place. What more can you ask for?! :) came in on a Saturday night with my parents and ordered the banh beo, phở combination, bun bo hue, and bu luc lac. Portions, flavors, and service were great! Can’t wait to try the other dishes next time :)

Food was good. Staffs are all nice. Phở is kinda okay, but the noodles are stick together in one piece. All the rices and appetizers are greatttt. This is my 3rd here and sure will come back later ! The price is excellent not too expensive and is worth it

Excellent place for noodles, rice, banh meo, and other Vietnamese food. Great price, good service, and wonderful tasty food ! I love their rice dish com bo luc lac — they serve the tender beef with fried rice that makes the dish so awesome. Other Viet places serve white rice usually — this place serves delish fried rice instead. Phở is good, egg rolls are fresh, and their crêpe dish is awesome!

A really good place for lunch if you’re craving great Vietnamese food. I’m not Vietnamese, and this place and the food came highly recommended by my coworkers that grew up in Vietnam. Located in the Hong Kong plaza in West Covina, this place has really great parking. There are 3 things that I typically get here: the Banh xeo, the bun bo hue, and the banh beo. Banh Xeo is a sort of Vietnamese crêpe(with fried skin) with pork, skin, bean sprouts inside. It comes with fresh vegetables like lettuce, cucumber and the like, and I love it at this restaurant! The portion is really big and they are definitely not stingy with the veggies. Bun bo hue, their noodle soup, is flavorful and spicy. Also comes with side cabbage, lime and some bean sprouts. Large enough portion, and super tasty. Now, what I love most at this place is definitely the Banh Beo. It’s basically a rice cake topped with onions and ground shrimp. You eat it with fish sauce and hot sauce, soooo delicious. You get 10 with one order and honestly it’s enough for 1 meal. Definitely would recommend this place. Everything about it is great!

Clean, friendly, and delicious sums up my experience at Quan Nem Ninh Hoa(say what?). I tried the charbroiled pork and egg roll over vermicelli. I believe the menu item is #65. It was very on point. The pork was seasoned nicely and not too fatty. The egg roll had the expected crispy texture and the filling had a balanced pork flavor. I also tried the nem cuon rolls — exceeded my expectations. The pork roll filling was savory to the point of gourmet. The roll also had an egg roll crisp in it which worked well, in terms of texture, with the soft rice paper wrap. Parking is ample in this area and its close to at least two boba tea houses to finish off your Asian food experience. Service was nice and no wait due to ample seating inside. Enjoy!

When you are in a city surrounded by non-Asian foods, this place is like a godsend. Thank you for being in this great plaza! I ordered to go on a Sunday afternoon, with a welcomed crowded restaurant. It is refreshing to see businesses you want to succeed, thrive. Cutting to the chase now, the food is good. It is not, Rosemead or San Gabriel good, but West Covina good. Which is good enough. The spring rolls were excellent and on par, whereas the soup is all you need on a recovery day. With prices you would expect at any Phở restaurant, I am definitely a fan.

We were in the area and were looking for lunch before heading back to NorCal. I saw that they had nem cuon and bf wanted to try it. The rolls were huge and while they’re not as good as Brodards, they’re still tasty! Good alternative if you’re want to get your fix but don’t want to drive all the way to Garden Grove. I ordered the lemongrass chicken and bf ordered the vermicelli with BBQ pork. He liked his dish and thought it was good. Mine on the other hand, was just bad. There were TINYYY pieces of burnt chicken throughout the dish. Not even big chicken chunks! I felt like they just gave me scraps. Flavors were mehh. I’d consider coming back and trying soup, but I’d stay away from the rice dishes.

Very clean restaurant – possibly a newer joint in the plaza? Looked pretty tasty so we walked in for a quick lunch :) Employees are courteous – ordered, then left. no trace until we asked for the check. We ordered: Nem cuon: Not too bad. Bf was disappointed that the little fried sticks in the middle had nothing in them(some locations put a tad of shrimp), but it as overall okay. I found the sauce rather unexciting as well… it really can’t compare to Summer Rolls or Brodard, but honestly that was kinda expected. Banh Xeo: Another«okay» dish. Upside were all the veggies, but downside was that it wasn’t very flavorful and nothing really stood out. I’ve had crispier, better tasting banh xeo elsewhere… I’d skip this dish if I were you. Shrimp salad: I actually liked this dish the most out of all three. Decent amount of shrimp with good flavor, and it tasted very light and refreshing. The giant chip things on the side added great texture and variety to the overall dish, and we killed this plate pretty quickly. Try it! All in all, this place was just«okay» overall. It’s definitely not bad, but it’s not YESLETSGOAGAINLETSGOTOMORROW status. I haven’t had the urge to come back, and to be honest, I’m not sure I would considering I live so close to the Viet powerhouse restaurants in SGV. Still, I guess it’s okay if you’re in the area.

Pretty tasty food, I’ve been wanting to try bahn beo($ 5.95) which other Vietnamese restaurants rarely have. Bahn beo is steamed rice cake with chopped dried shrimps, fried shallots, and chopped green onions with fish sauce on the side. Their nem cuon($ 6.95) is pretty good as well. It had lettuce, cucumber, fried wonton, mint, and grilled pork. They staff was friendly. Place is clean and they take card.

I tried this place out with my parents and we were pretty impressed :) My parents are some of the biggest critics of Vietnamese food so that’s saying a lot! We had the Banh canh cha ca(seafoody noodles) that were really delicious! The broth was very flavorful and didn’t feel too oily :) it also had a bit of spice to it but I added some of their home made very spicy chili to give it even more of a kick! I also tried the nem nuong! It was pretty good but the sauce could use some improvements. Other than that no complaints– these were delicious The banh beo was mediocre– the rice cakes were too thick so the consistency was just off. I also think the topping could have improved and they should put bread crumbs on top of each rice cake :( Service was ok– They were friendly but not super attentive. Overall, I’d stick with the noodle soups and spring rolls. I’ll be trying their bun bo hue next time! :)

What a pleasant surprise! I haven’t had much luck with restaurants in Sacramento. I was skeptical when I heard that these guys were originally from Sacramento area. But, after hearing about this place from my little sister, I decided to give these guys a try or two. Service here is good. They aren’t like a typical Vietnamese restaurant that expects you to order as soon as they seat you. They allow you to peruse the menu, and will give you more time if it is needed. We have ordered the Nem Nuong Cuon, Bo Loc Lac, Phở and a couple of other noodle dishes the couple times that we have been there. I’ve never really liked eating Nem Nuong Cuon, even in the OC a few years ago. But there is something about theirs that I like. Perhaps it is the pork inside, or the crunch from the fried egg roll skin. I like it. I got my introduction to Bo Loc Lac here. I have always heard about it, but, never ordered it. It comes with fried rice and some vegetables. The beef is flavorful. The fried rice that comes with is very good. Another winner. They have a large variety of variety of Vietnamese food, more than what most of the local Vietnamese restaurants serve. The food that we have tried has been tasty. The prices are reasonable. Because it is a newer restaurant, every is clean. It is a nice place. I will be back.
