When you want a super unique, and quality made(they just don’t make me like they used to!) garment, you have to check this place out. For Halloween, they even have a rental rack. So, if you need a leisure suit or go-go boots and don’t want to commit, just rent! And for much less than buying new, they have men’s cowboy or Beatle boots too. And if you don’t feel like going all out, but don’t want to be a stick in the mud, they always have a great selection of cool hats.

Fantastic Vintage Clothing store, and costume shop! They also have Records, and other fun retro delights! This a fun place to go with friends! You can spend hours sifting through the vintage goods! The store is huge and the prices are very responsible! Compared to other cities! They will also rent you costumes! This is a go to spot for Halloween shoppers! Next time you roll through Valley Junction stop in and try something fun on!

Oh Atomic Garage… it’s a shame you don’t have more reviews in general… I just had to review you. Atomic Garage is an amazing vintage clothing and vintage store in the trendy area in Des Moines… the owner/manager is super chill and a fun person who takes her vintage clothes seriously. Their selection is awesome and reasonably priced for how rare some of it is. It’s definitely a great place to stop in when you’re in town… and an even better place to stop in when you need a badass outfit to go to a formal event with. It’s super well organized and just an overall fun store to walk around. The only reason I took a star off is because some of the stuff isn’t for sale. It’s only for rent… and that disappointed me. I don’t live in town, so I couldn’t rent the incredible options of suits/tuxedos that they sell there.

Cassi is so nice and helpful — she makes you feel very welcomed as you peruse the store. It can feel a little overwhelming because there’s so much vintage goodness in one spot! But even with the amazing inventory, it doesn’t feel crowded and you can still comfortably browse. A great place to check out!

The vintage is definitely priced higher here but that’s because they have some great stuff! If you really want to purchase something it’s best to look when they’re having a sale. There is also an area with clothes that are rental so if you need a last minute Halloween costume you’re sure to find something here. The last time I was here I saw a bunch of awesome vintage inspired clothes and bags for sale made by local designers. All in all an amazing collection of vintage stuff inside. Definitely a place to go for inspiration.

I could never afford to buy things here but I love to go in! It’s really fun to root around in the clothes and be baffled by the fashions of the 60s. Definitely worth a stop!
