Dylans Pub

This place used to be an absolute dump, as of this year though. I have to give it ⁹⁄₁₀ stars. It seems West Dundee has become strictly a «bar town», the owner here…“Frank” has really turned this place around! They have excellent food/​drink specials during the week, and it’s really unique! It’s also a great atmosphere! Try the half price Italian Beefs on Wednesday, totally top notch.

Whenever I’m on my bike, I always look for hole in the wall places to try. This was one of them. Had a great Bloody Mary to start. Nothing fancy but spicy and delicious. Then I spotted my fave «crappy» beer — Hamms! $ 2 a tall boy! Hot dogs w everything on them were 99 cents each! Awesome! Bartender coulda had more personality but this was noon on a Thursday. I’ll be back

Used to be our go to spot… but they added all of these video poker machines, which means a loss of tables and stools, and lost half of the dance floor for the lady and her friends. Haven’t been back since… drop the video poker or move that stuff upstairs, and we’ll come back.

Don’t fool yourself. There is nothing special or flashy about this bar. It is just a hole in the wall bar home to the local bar flys. But thats why i love it. To me its quiet and homey, not like Firebar or the Whale where you cant hear yourself think. The food is not your typical bar food, its really well made and ive yet to try something i didnt like. Majority of the bartenders always remember your name when you return. Christy and Mandy make the BEST bloody marys and drinks in general. Kat needs work so be warned.

Eh, this bar to me was just only average. I came here since it was suggested on the website of Underground Retrocade for drinking before or after, but there was nothing too darn appealing about this place that’d make me really want to return next time I’m in this area, nor so bad I’d be scared to return back. At least the bartender did notice me, and took a break from text messaging someone to serve me.
I may or may not return to this place, whenever I get back to Retrocade again. Personally I’d like to try some of the other bars a short walk away (particularly Bandito Barney’s or Emmett’s), before I give this place another shot.

Best place to be!

I came here on a Thursday night, after I found the atmosphere at Bikini Bottom Bar next door too mellow and a little shady. This place was PACKED when I walked in. It was Karaōke night, and it was incredibly loud. I’m not one for more «divey» bars usually, and I’m definitely not a fan of karaōke, but I had a blast here. The bartender we had, a girl, was extremely friendly (and cute!). The karaōke singers weren’t half bad (even better once I started drinking…) and the prices were good. The crowd started thinning out around midnight, but it was still upbeat. I’d definitely like to come back here when the crowd isn’t so huge (which I don’t think is usually the case) but I had fun either way.

Well, I think they are pretty good place to hang out. TV, not so much music but very friendly service. Pool table, pretty good food — Had the Jumbo wings (not as big as expected) with Garlic Parmesan and Buffalo. Didnt like the dry rub, buffalo was good though. But I am a fan, if I were staying around the area, it might be a regular spot.

Great food, generous drinks, and awesome staff make Dylan’s a must-​visit whenever I’m in the area! A friendly, but not overly stuffed, crowd and great music on the weekends take me back to my favorite college hang outs. Always looking forward to feeling like family when I visit!

Cool bar, with great daily drink and food specials. If you have $ 10, you can pretty much get your fill of both! The have Old Style, Schlitz, and PBR

KILLER BUFFALO WINGS!!! Seriously… some of the best around. My compliments to the chef. Cooked right, no breaded filler crap, and a hot kick afterwards. Nice local bar (West Dundee) with some surprisingly good bar food. Monday night special-​45 Cent Wings… Load up!!!

I love Dylans. for all the same reasons listed by Jonathan C. lol. Seriously-​a really really fun time! Affordable drinks. «Awesome» DJ on the weekends-​playing just about all kinds of dance music from pop to old school to hip hop. Good peopel watching. and really, you become part of the scene anyways lol. Just make sure you are a little «primed» before arriving and get ready to dance your ass off with the best of them! No douchey snotty pretense, all ages and all types hanging out in there all w the same goal – to DRINK, DANCE, have a good time!

Quite possibly the most entertaining hole in the wall I have ever been to. Not only are drinks cheap and poured with a heavy hand, the place is a treasure trove for people watching.
On one night I saw the following:
1. An old dude in a custom track suit dancing up a storm and trying to hit on a bachelorette party
2. Some dude who was on a bike called someone to pickup his bicycle so he can continue drinking and not drive drunk home (actually quire responsible)
3. A DJ who looks like he could be the Napoleon Dynamite’s long lost eldest brother.

Good place with decent enough food and reasonably price drinks. Really turned it around from being R Bar.
Another great place that is part of the Dundee bar scene which is very underated.

I’ve lived in the area for a few years and every time I passed Dylan’s Pub I would think I really wanna try this place… I finally got that chance when Groupon was offering a spend $ 10 get $ 20 in food and drinks. We walked in the Pub and could tell it was a local bar where everyone knew each other. Most of the customers were at the bar drinking so the table tops were empty. We sat done and the bartender came right over asking if we needed drinks, and told us that the drafts were $ 1 today (they call it their red solo cup special)…umm awesome, I cant tell you the last time I got a beer for $ 1! Aftrer looking over the menu we decided to order cheese sticks first. These came out super hot, but when I was eating them I realized that most of the cheese was on the outside instead of the inside, probably from getting deep fried for a little to long. they still tasted good though. Then our dinner came out, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with waffle cheese fries. The pulled pork was amazing, one of the top 5 pulled porks I have ever had. The pork was tossed in the BBQ sauce (which was sweet baby rays) not just on top of it. They put so much pulled pork on the sandwich I had to use a fork at first to get the pork that just wouldn’t stay on the bun. The waffle fries were amazing. They were hot, seasoned and crispy. The cheese sauce had a really good flavor, and she gave me 2 cups of the cheese sauce instead of one, I thought that was super nice. After we were done eating we asked for a box and the bar owner came over to use and asked how our food was and if we needed anything else. I really like when owners care about you and how thier bar is doing. For not being a regular they treated us just the same as everyone else in the bar. I will be back for sure!
