Went Friday night for dinner with my husband and daughter. The chili and hamburger was delicious, the chili cheese hot dog was yummy. It’s clean and the service was great. Would definitely go there again.

Good food. Accommodated custom order with aplomb. Live music was loud and not good but we day as far away as possible. Would return for more chowder and fritters.

Went in tonight to see Kathy and maybe get some dinner. I thought this place served food. I guess not! Myself and my family were TOTALLY ignored. After they finally gave us water and menus… They never came back! Not once! We were the only ones in the restaurant area! After an hour of being ignored and aggravated at the lazy, obnoxious, ignorant staff we left! Obvious they don’t want any new customers– just the loud drunks at the bar… never ever go there and expect someone to actually wait on you! I have been in the service industry for 30 years and a business owner for 15– and I would absolutely never treat prospective customers that way and I don’t appreciate being treated in that manner. Totally disgusted and pissed off!!!

This place is right up my alley! My boyfriend and I went for the first time on Taco Tuesday. I ordered 4 pulled pork tacos(for $ 4), they come in sets of 2. They blew my expectations out of the water. The staff was friendly, our bartender was really nice. My boyfriend got the grilled chicken salad and said the grilled chicken was perfect, done but tender and juicy. I wish, since they obviously have a really great chef, the salsa had been fresh but that did not take away from the deliciousness of the tacos enough to take away a star. They were so awesome. We are going back for their pulled pork grilled cheese.

This little place did very well by us. We attended a funeral and the burial was half a mile away. With a three-year-old and a one-year-old in the car an hour past their lunchtime, and another diner with Celiac Disease, our options for getting food fast were here and a small local pizza place. We decided that this place would have the best range of food options that the kids would pick at– even if there wasn’t much in the entrée department, a tavern must have good appetizers, right? We got in the door and the bar was definitely the most prominent feature in the room(not unexpected, given the name). But we chose a booth to sit in, and there was a booster seat and a high chair available for the kids. They were given cups with lids for their(gigantic!) servings of milk. There were very inexpensive child portions available on the menu(hot dog or grilled chicken breast with carrot sticks and ranch dressing, $ 1-$ 2 each). We ordered appetizers for the kids to pick at as well. My mother-in-law ordered a nacho combo plate with pulled pork which was delicious, and huge. My husband and I ordered an appetizer combo(mozzarella sticks, buffalo wings, onion rings and French fries). Between those alone, we were full before the meals arrived(the chicken breast for my three-year-old, a quarter-pound cheeseburger for my mother-in-law, and a 12-inch shaved steak pizza for my husband and me to split, most of which we just took home). The food was all delicious– every dish had something unique that pleasantly surprised us. The bill was around $ 50, all told, which was more than reasonable considering that all five of us left well-fed, with a spare 75% of a pizza to boot. I did find it a little bit dimly-lit, but hey, it’s a tavern. Families with small children aren’t really the target demographic, but we were nonetheless welcomed and cheerfully served. Those enjoying a quick stop at the bar were also friendly and waved back to my gregarious one-year-old. A relaxing atmosphere that helped relax us when our kids were on the verge of a hunger riot. Our family would not hesitate to go back when we’re in the area. We might even try some of those delicious-sounding mixed drinks if we’re without the kids.

Great bartenders. Apparently they got new ones since that 2013 review. Fun and friendly. A great place to stop in and have a friendly drink. They also have some great bands. If this place improved their menu and food, I would give it more stars.

Normally I like stopping here while I’m out on the motorcycle. About a week ago I stopped there on a Sunday and the most miserable bartender I have ever seen was working. The bar was busy, I think it was open mic, you’d think the girl would’ve been happy to be making some money. Nope. You couldn’t have gotten her to smile if you tried. I saw one woman get up from her barstool, come around to the other side of the bar, just to get the bartender’s attention for another beer. Rediculous. We left after one beer cuz she was so miserable. I like the bar, but they need to get rid of that bartender.
