BodyRoc

I have attended two Total BodyRoc sessions with Shaun. Although I am drenched in sweat and basically crying during the workout they are amazing! The class combines cardio, weight lifting, and boxing. My favorite part is the live DJ. The music is great and really keeps you going. Shaun is very talented and gifted at what he does. My recommendation is to register for classes early because they fill up quickly.

I met Shaun the owner of BodyRoc over the summer while he was offering the BodyRoc Experience minus the gym space because he was under construction. even without a gym space he can lead a group to have a kick-​ass FUN workout!!! Let me tell you, this man has made a HUGE impact in my training and work out life. Additionally he’s a kind, thoughtful, encouraging and POSITIVE energy trainer. I’ve been to a myriad of gyms (CrossFit boxes) and let me tell you — Shaun has IT. Since his grand opening this past fall I’m at BodyRoc at least twice a week — honestly, the interval training with cardio, weights, cardio and then boxing has been a game changer for my body, my energy levels and my personal attitude.
It’s hard work. There’s no doubt about it, but Shaun has just the right amount of energy to help push you without being aggressive, or mean. He knows everyone’s name, knows everyone’s boundaries and even has a killer laugh when he says «Naa, Kate, gab the 15s girl»… he wants you to succeed… and in this world that’s a rarity.
I HIGHLY recommend BodyRoc to everyone … and as a yogi, this is the ying to my yang. I need the cardio, I need the specific weight training outlined and I NEED the time to hit the heavy bag (also my favorite part). If you’re on the fence about checking this space out, get off of it and get inside the BodyRoc Lab. I promise it will be the best sweaty 50 minutes of your day — it is for me!

Remember playing Super Mario Brothers? When Mario or Luigi got a ONE-​UP they went from puny weaklings to pumped up Adonis’.

They absolutely have a wonderful concept going here and I’m only sad that their not closer to New Haven. The workouts are High-​intensity interval training (HIIT) style; but what really gets you moving is the pairing of uptempo tunes with a nightclub-​ish vibe (DJ included, ONE-​UP).
I had the pleasure of experiencing the ‘BodyRoc’ class, a 50 minute workout geared at fat-​burning and muscle building. Throughout the class every single muscle in my body was engaged, truly a whole body workout. We started out with cardio, sprint and jogging intervals on their manual treadmill (self-​powered, meaning you have to work for EVERY stride, ONE-​UP).
Next we moved into the strength training series featuring a combination of grueling weighted and floor exercises. I’m bored easily and believe me there was no chance of that here. Shaun, the owner and instructor, wasn’t letting anyone slack! He was constantly moving around the class, motivating you to give your all, correcting posture, and adding lighthearted banter to the mix. The energy in the room was awesome, even though we were all pushing to the limit, the group dynamic keeps you accountable (no half-​steppin’ over here, ONE-​UP).
The boxing portion of the workout was easily my favorite. Using a heavy pushing bag and boxing gloves we jabbed, upper cut and crossed our hearts out in sync with the music. Talk about therapy! Pent-​up energy released all while rocking out to your favorite beats (grooving and working that body, ONE-​UP).
Seriously, I have tried many a gym and workout regimen in my day and this one is like no other in the area. I was so pleased, that I signed up for another class even though I live 40 minutes away. Don’t even give it a second thought! The ONE-​UP experience is worth it!

Daaaaymn. I came here this morning for Total BodyRoc with Unilocal Fit 2016, and just a few hours later, I’m feeling exhausted but strong and energized.
I’ve done boot camps in the past and have a deep penchant for spinning and running, so I think of myself as fit but always up for a challenge. BodyRoc really hit the spot for creating a unique spot to work hard, push yourself, and really feel accomplished in 50 minutes of true interval training.
The TrueForm runner treadmills are powered by you, so it feels more like actually running outside, and you’ll use more muscles than if you’re running on a regular treadmill. Thees were fun and different in and of themselves.
Shaun, the owner and trainer, really keeps you pumped up and pushes everyone just the right amount. He’ll definitely challenge you but also seemed to know when to back down if someone needed a quick break. There’s also a live DJ, who, at this session, mixed lots of top 40 and then older school hip hop by the end. It’s great when the music motivates you to keep on moving.
So, we’ll see how sore I feel in the morning, but all in all, if you’re serious about fitness, this is a great spot to check out.

I have battled with my weight all my life! After discovering BodyRoc, I know my life will never be the same! I love the dark room with red lighting, which makes you feel extremely comfortable and focused. In addition, I have bad knees and am able to get an intense workout and not damage my body. The energy that The BodyRoc experience leaves you with, is absolutely infectious!!!

I have been to BodyRoc for 4 classes now and I have to say that I leave every class feeling tired, sore, and AWESOME! Each class of the week focuses on a different muscle group. Last night’s class — Butt and Legs — consisted of rotations of treadmill, weights (squats/​lunges), and boxing. I can tell you that the class lived up to its name and kicked my butt! Shaun, the trainer for each class, is the best! He pushes everyone to go beyond what they thought was possible to reach that next level, but in the most positive and motivating way possible. I’ve never gotten so many high-​fives while working out before, but I can honestly say that I love it, haha.
Other things to note:
*The treadmills are not your average treadmills. There is no motor — you propel them with your own effort. That makes them harder than your average treadmill workout!
*I was nervous about the boxing, but this part of the class is AMAZING. It doesn’t even feel like you are working out, because it is so fun and such a stress reliever! I wish there was more boxing because it’s the funnest part of the class!
*The parking lot is a little bit small and definitely very dark, so bring a friend!
So, in short, if you haven’t figured it out by now, I am pretty sure I love Bodyroc and will definitely try to make it part of my weekly workout routine going forward.

I very recently moved to the Hartford area, and I’m still looking for things to do, so when I saw a Groupon for BodyRoc I decided to give it a shot. I went to my first class tonight and it was really fun. It’s a tough workout for sure (and the more you push yourself the harder it is and the more you get out of it, of course!) but it was pretty fun. Things are done as kind of circuits so you’re running, lifting weights, or boxing depending on the circuit. When class ended I thought to myself, «There was no way that was 50 minutes! It felt like 30 tops,» but when I checked the time, sure enough a full 50 minutes had gone by. And pretty much the best thing you can say about a workout was that it seemed shorter than it actually was.

I’ve been looking for an affordable, intense workout in west Hartford for over a year. Body Roc is just what I needed. The red lights create a really focused zone and the music keep things fun while pushing you through the circuit training. The real centerpiece is the instructor, Shaun. You can tell he practices everything he preaches and believes in his brand. Also, he’s super nice. Every tough class ends with a high five of encouragement from him. I’ve already bought 3 friends here and all 3 purchased classes. Nuff said. (they make bomb smoothies too)

I have been going to BodyRoc for almost 2 months now and I love it! I’m a huge fan of a boxing workout and I love that I can get cardio, weight training and boxing in one class. Working out with the red lights and music on puts you in your own zone to focus and get the workout done! If you haven’t had the chance of getting there, make it #1 on your to-​do list!!! Job well done Shaun and the whole BodyRoc team!

An «Intense circuit-​style interval workout combining weight training, treadmills, and heavy bag boxing» — this is not your average workout. Low-​lighting, imagine dance-​club vibe; high-​intensity playlists, hip-​hop, house/​dance, pump-​up music!; lots of cardio!
I most recently went to a «ROC HARD ABS» class. It was equal parts fun, intense, and demanding. The interval training was arranged and organized in a manner in which I got my ass KICKED. You are your own boss/​trainer, so the classes are only as hard as you push yourself. With that said, Shaun is very helpful in training, pushing, and carrying you throughout the class.
Walk-​ins are welcome and priced at $ 20. There are also several class cards to fit different budgets/​schedules

— 10 powerless, button-​less treadmills (really cool — YOU are the motor)
— free weights, medicine balls

BodyRoc has completely changed my life. I started my fitness journey with Shaun a little over a year ago and I’ve lost over 55 pounds! I feel better than I ever have before! Boxing is what keeps me motivated, I love it and with Shaun it’s not the same old boring gym with a treadmill. He motivates me and supports me the whole way through, not to mention working out to a LIVE DJ spinning is so awesome! I will definitely be attending more FitLab classes to continue my fitness journey with Shaun! #BodyRoc
