Tried a couple things. Don’t go for a buffalo chicken wrap. If you ask for spicy they add salsa… Not hot sauce. We didn’t even eat it. Mozzarella sticks were good.

When I come back home a hot tuna grinder with cheese is the number one thing on my list of foods to get(besides what my mom makes)

It’s our go-to local pizza joint. Consistently good pizza. We’re a big fan of the crust! We always get the veggie special + eggplant. Very friendly staff. Hard to resist every time we walk or drive by the place — you can smell the pizza from the street!

This is a traditional local family pizza place. Constantly good pie! Not gourmet by any means, but a Large cheese, kid friendly, local establishment that has stood the test of time!!! Nick the owner is the best!

I recently heard of Jimmie’s and how great it’s supposed to be — the Unilocal reviews backed that up. Unfortunately, my experience was awful: — The pizza was one of the worst I’ve had in a long time. The dough was basically cardboard and the sauce had zero flavor. Even the toppings were lackluster. — The service was unhelpful and seemed to forget about us at times — The beer selection was small and didn’t contain anything worth buying(though admittedly the beer’s relatively cheap). Overall, really disappointed and won’t go back. If you’re in the area and want pizza stick with Harry’s or Joey’s.

Jimmies = a Farmington Avenue tradition going back to the 70s. Nick & Marella run a nice restaurant with good food, competent staff, providing an enjoyable lunch or dinner. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak times but always worth the stop, Jimmies is a West Hartford landmark popular with many generations.

pros– clean, good service, really friendly. it seemed like everyone who came in was on first name basis with the owners! cons– i didn’t think the pizza was that great! the crust didn’t do it for me. too much cheese. maybe I will give it another try

Pizza. Real pizza. Best sauce. Very cheesy. This is the pizza I crave. It’s not fancy, just good pizza. Been there a few times. The salad is basic but exactly what you want on the side. Love that they have the part pizza but order in advance. The ziti was not my favorite but still worth ordering if you wanted something besides pizza. I’ve gone for pizza lunch then ordered ziti and salad to go so dinner was done!

I live right down the street. Jimmy’s definitely lives up to the hype. This was the third pizza place I’ve tried since moving to CT(joeys pizza pie and Harry’s pizza). Haven’t been back to those other restaurants since

Had a pizza once here before and wasn’t wowed… Two years later I thought I would try them again, and it was good! The sauce was flavorful and they put large amounts of the toppings you order on your pizza. Although, they need to do some updating on the inside– very old looking and the deer heads freak me out! Lol… Overall good pizza but I prefer brick oven.

Over the top chef salad, pizzas with fresh veggies and artisan mozzarella, drab interior, reasonable prices, fast service, friendly and familiar faces — this place is exactly what a small pizza shop ought to be. A classic West Hartford hangout. Memories of Uconn basketball games on TV, high school pizza parties. In fact, I think I’ll watch the Uconn sweet sixteen game there this Friday.

Back on the east coast again this week, I was craving some really good pizza. A quick Unilocal search led me to Jimmie’s. The photo looked promising, so I decided to give them a shot. Walking in and ordering for take-out was easy enough. The price was reasonable(about $ 16 for a medium meat lover’s), and the wait wasn’t long(about 15 minutes). Back at my hotel, the pizza certainly looked appetizing, but after a few bites I realized it was merely average. The cheese and crust were the high points… The cheese was plentifully gooey, and the crust was substantial, buttery, and crisp; just the way I like it. The sauce and the toppings were where things fell apart, though. The sausage in particular was bland and boring. On top of that, the sauce was completely un-memorable. All together, it wasn’t a bad pizza, just one that I wouldn’t go out of my way to seek out again. If anyone out there knows of a truly great pizza place in CT, let me know. Otherwise, I’m afraid the search will have to continue…

Live right around the corner from this little gem. Eaten in and taken out for over 15 years now. Absolutely never had a pie or sandwich from them that we did not love. I almost always order the same pizza, because I love it so much. The sausage and mushroom is wonderful. They make there own sausage here and it is quite delicous. The place is always clean with tv’s to view sporting events, as well as music boxes that you can put a quarter in and here what you want, old school but still cool to offer. The owner and his staff are always so very friendly. I know we have many pizza joints around town, many excellent as well, Jimmies is just a wonderful place to enjoy dinner with the family, oh it has some great parking in the back as well, a plus for this part of town.

First time here, based on the reviews I decided to check it out for a late night snack. Pizza is a surprisingly big deal in CT, and Jimmies lives up to the hype. I got the special, which was 2 slices of cheese+soda for $ 4.95, great deal! The slices were a little smaller than I expected(docked 1 star), but they were absolutely delicious and also filling! High quality ingredients, deliciously crunchy crust, freshly made sauce and cheese, all around great! Service was excellent too, prompt and courteous. Will be back!

Jimmie’s is part of West Hartford’s «Trinity» of Greek-style pizza, with the other two members being South Main and Park Street. And really, you can’t go wrong with any of them — which one is best for you might simply come down to which is more convenient. This is great, unpretentious Greek pizza, cut in squares, with that perfectly crispy crust and guilty pleasure grease factor. My family and I go here when we need a break from the super-trendy, more expensive pizza more fashionable among the West Hartford elite.

Greek style pizza, but surprisingly, I like it, even the crust. We got a split mushroom/sausage pie. I’m here recently from NYC and a thin crust fanatic. BUT… the grinders. Our 2nd trip, we got chix parm and an Italian grinder, and it hit that spot. Yar, there are grinders around(sub sammie, tossed in the oven to crisp), but seems its been decades since having had one I’ve liked. Size of sammie is moderate, goodly amount of stuff therein, and reasonable in price. Standard ambiance; on the nicer side. Service has been very friendly. Specials include ceasar chicken wrap, and will get a salad next time. Small lot in front, and one in back. GREAT for kids. Not only are the workers child-friendly, but the diners have been as well.

Very good consistent garlic bread, salad, and pizza. I can’t comment on anything else because this is all I ever have and it’s quite delish. I highly recommend the buffalo chicken pizza with sliced fresh tomatoes. AMAZING!

The pizza here is pretty delicious. I wouldn’t put it on the same level as Harrys or Lenas but it’s very tasty and the location is also great– right on Farmington Ave.
