Yuck. –old fish –no speak engrish Service was decent, communication was hard but they stayed on top of it for the most part. The fish on the other hand, it was terrible. I ordered a few pieces of nigiri and it tasted like old fish smells. So disgusting. Go to sushi palace.

Stay away from sushi X! This place has the worst policy towards eating all of your food, although they give you mainly rice. If you don’t finish your food, they basically charge you double, so $ 46 to eat a pile of rice and a itty bitty amount of actual fish. Also, the service is absolutely terrible. The waitresses mean mug the hell out of you and are extremely rude. I had a horrible experience and will never ever come back to Sushi X. If you want a good experience for all you can eat sushi in this area, you need to stay away from sushi X and go to sushi palace or sushimizu. They are both cheaper and have way better service and food.

This place has completely gone down hill. They don’t deliver half of what you put down on the sheet. You have to wait an hour or more. It’s absolutely awful. The kitchen in back is disgusting and I saw rat droppings in the back hall. Do not come here!

Bad sushi. The worst customer service. Rude to customers. Overcharging for leftover. I traveled 45 minutes to try them because I heard good things, but I will never come back.

First time trying this place after hearing positive feedback about the food. Overall, food was mediocre could get this in many other ayce places and sushi had too much rice. They were charging 50 cents per rice not consumed! The service sucked horribly. They did not know I understood what they were talking about, and boy did they talk shit about the customers that come in. My friend and I had to forcefully consume couple pieces as they were going to charge $ 12 for 5 pieces left. Really wth? The manager lady was so rude and she won’t let us get away with it uneaten. Not coming back!

Very enjoyable sushi. All you can eat price of $ 20 is a great deal. Fish is fresh. Some of the non sushi choices are really good and worth going for. Gets knocks for plating and creativity, pretty basic.

Still really good. We went on a Saturday night at 7:30 and had excellent and fast service, and fresh delicious sushi. My new favorites are the gyoza and the x-roll.

Good food, but not great, bad service but not the worst. Except for this one girl who couldn’t be nice if it was her fathers last wish or whatever. The apps were good and the $ 8 bottomless saki is a good deal. Honestly I might give it one more chance… But I might not mostly because of the server issue. I wouldn’t want to judge the owner or the business overall because it was obvious that the owner wasn’t there

People are a little put-off by the idea of «all you can eat sushi» but I assure you, I’ve been coming here for years and will continue to do so! They also have all you can drink sake for $ 7.99. You can’t beat that! The sushi is fresh and delicious and the food from the kitchen is excellent as well. Other than a super busy night, I’ve not had a bad experience here. Two big thumbs up!

I’ve only gone here two or three times in the last few years and that’s because the service and quality of food has gotten progressively worse every time I’ve been back. They’ve shortened their menu quite a bit, leaving out a lot of the basics, as well as some items that set them apart from other AYCE sushi spots in the area. Quality has also decreased. pieces of sashimi are significantly smaller, rolls have more rice, the usual cutbacks you’d expect to see when a restaurant is doing downill. From what I’ve seen on more than one occasion, as well heard through the grapevine, the staff is treated like absolute garbage by management. On top of that, a significant portion(significant as in almost the entire amount) of their credit card tips are actually kept by management. So! If you do come here, I’d say tip in cash if you want your server to actually benefit from it. Based on principle alone I won’t be back, there’s plenty of other AYCE options nearby with better quality food and less sketchy management.

I have been coming to this place for several years now — never a bad experience. Price is higher Fri-Sun. Excellent kitchen(hot food) menu, and nice selection of suhi, sashimi, and other items. Very quick service, especially with kitchen food. Free desert(ice cream). Nice environment, back section can be family friendly. Ample seating, but it gets packed at night and on weekends! They accept reservations :) Is this the best sushi place you’ll find in the New Haven /New York area… no, there are nicer, more upscale, and more expensive places around. Is it really good for West Haven and an «all you can eat» restaurant… yes.

Visited this establishment with a couple of girlfriends on a weekday night around 8:30pm. We partook in the all-you-can eat deal for a little over $ 20. My conclusion is that this is slightly better-than-average Asian buffet. The sushi wasn’t impressive, but appetizer items like the tempura and Korean spareribs were okay(albeit pretty fatty). The sushi was fine, but definitely not like a real sushi bar, pay-per-roll, empty-your-wallet-for-sushi-delicousness. This place had tactics like use of krab, as opposed to crab. Also, some items like their peking duck weren’t good. Nevertheless, for a bit over $ 20 I had more than enough to eat and ice cream for dessert(I recommend strawberry and coconut). Their kitchen items are fried/fatty but are alright, just be forewarned that a huge feeling of self-induced guilt will likely follow your meal. Verdict: Though disappointed in their sushi, I would likely visit again to give this place another shot.

All you can eat for $ 20(weeknight price)…can’t beat that. I have eaten here a bunch of times, the most recently last night. It’s your typical sushi restaurant… small sushi bar up front with a long and narrow area of dining tables. They have lots of sashimi, sushi, apps, and specialty rolls on their all you can eat menu. Waitstaff was very attentive in refilling our green teas and waters throughout our meal. My sister and I each had miso soup, 2 tuna apps and shumai. We also enjoyed a bunch of sashimi(unagi, salmon, tuna) and a few specialty rolls. I have enjoyed all of the rolls here, even though some are more simple. I
