Omg!!! This place… is…sooooooo… BOMB! I haven’t even left the restaurant and I can’t believe how amazing every piece of sushi is here! Melts in your mouth sushi. I can’t even describe how ecstatic I am right now that I came into this place and that I live up the street from here!

I really enjoyed this place. Great sushi. Great service. Great ambiance. I especially liked the live scallop. Shoei is very good. Make sure you sit at the bar with Shoei.

I generally hate trying new sushi spots. I like to stick to my same spots like sushi gen. Wow. So glad I came here. Fish was very fresh and tasty. I highly recommend them. Close by my place and very convenient. Doesn’t get any better. Much better than Jinpachi.

So lucky to have this place close by. The live scallops were so delicious and I’m still having dreams about them. The tuna sushi is excellent. The fiesta albacore is a great appetizer– very light and acidic. And I love the Jazz poster décor.

Best sushi I’ve had in a long time. Although the first place in LA that tried. Delicious quick lunch. Large enough to split a bento box with my boyfriend.

Great little sushi joint in WeHo! The sushi is excellent and the caterpillar roll literally melts in your mouth. Shout out for the crispy fried tofu salad and agedashi tofu, those were both excellent!

So disappointed and appalled by my experience here. As soon as I came into this cute little space, I found a certain bug in the restroom. I let them know that it was alright since I didn’t want them to feel bad. But it was a disconcerting matter. The dinner was decent. Nothing too spectacular but not terrible either. We ordered two orders of uni, black cod, and a caterpillar roll. But, imagine my surprise when the bill came out to a hundred dollars. I was shocked and asked what the cause was. They had charged us $ 20/uni order. I’ve eaten uni more than a thousand times probably and never have I heard of such a ridiculous price surge. Even when uni is scarce. At that point, my experience was officially bad. Not only did it seem like there was absolutely no remorse for the cockroach at the beginning of the meal, but the owner/manager wouldn’t even bother coming over to the table to discuss why there was this crazy price hike on the uni. In short, left feeling completely ripped off. Would never go back and will warn others from going to this establishment. This is not an upstanding business in my book.

On recommande chaudement. Les prix restent corrects pour un sushi dans weho.

My colleagues and I stumbled at Ajisai for lunch during our exploration walks to WEHO. Just like a tourist with our trusted smart phone map(minus the fanny pack of course), it pointed us to Ajisai. In fact, Google review surprisingly directed us here for their authentic Japanese cuisine and excellent service. Sure enough, it did not disappoint. Our sushi rolls were fantastic, service was excellent, and this tiny hole-in-the-wall restaurant, in the corner of nowhere out of sight from Santa Monica Blvd, was packed for lunch, just like any day of the week. I’d definitely come back again if I am in the area. Until then, Cheers! ~ :p

3 stars for lack of parking and most of the reviews are for the bentos. Uni is $ 20 for an order. You go figure! Don’t get me wrong, the food is fresh here, but that to me should be a given right? I am not a bento or roll type of customer so I’m sure you can figure out the rest. Maybe my expectation is a bit out of whack but I’ve had the same fresh stuff just down the street in BH that’s not this price. So more power to you WeHo people! Peace out! So 5 star for the fresh fish. minus 1 star for tough parking and 1 star for the prices of the raw sashimis!

There’s not much of a choice here if you come in for lunch. Besides sushi you either get teriyaki chicken or shrimp tempura. Korean short ribs was only for appetizer meaning it doesn’t come with rice or anything… And it’s too pricey to order as an addition. I thought that was pretty lame. I ordered lunch box A with chicken teriyaki. It was a bit pricey for what you get but it didn’t taste too bad.

One of my favorite sushi places in West LA, which is saying a lot, considering how many bomb sushi places around the area. Very small place(7 – 8 tables and a sushi bar) with tasteful and subtle 1950s hollywood movies décor. It reminds me to of sushi bars in Tokyo. The restaurant only has one executive sushi chef(a couple of sous chefs) but boy, how awesome is he. Fish is always fresh and presentation is beautiful. Pair your sashimi dinner with a miso soup with manila clams and a large Otokayama sake… life just doesn’t get better than that.

Came here on a Friday night with no reservation, luckily they were able to seat us at a table which was reserved for a 9pm. We had 45 min to eat — no biggie, everyone just wanted raw fish anyway. They never rushed us at any point of our dinner, sashimi was good and so was their service! I do think they are overpriced. However, if you are near the area and crave sushi, it should get the job done. Parking in rear(no WeHo jokes) or try your luck on the streets.

Ajisai is a lovely gem in the middle of bustling WeHo! It’s also convenient for those who love easy parking and restaurants that take reservations like me. There is an easy pay to park lot behind the restaurant, and just call ahead to grab a spot. The restaurant is pretty small and intimate so it’s a good idea. Because it’s so small, it can get pretty noisy, but you also are signing up for dinner in one of the busiest nightlife areas! The food is great, though slightly on the pricier end for good quality sushi. We tried the agedashi tofu and each got a dinner set(one sushi, one chicken teriyaki). We also shared a the Mr. Rock roll, which was heavy on garlic in a good way. The fish tasted fresh and all the flavors were right. Would definitely recommend for a great sushi or date night spot!

This is my favorite sushi place in the area and has quickly become a weekly staple. First of all, the environment is great, homey, and perfect for an intimate but casual date. The servers are all super nice and service is great. There are only about 10 tables in the whole restaurant but I’ve never had trouble getting a seat. They have a combination of «American-ized» sushi rolls and authentic nigiri. After much experimenting, I only order their nigiri and handrolls now — their fish is so fresh and delicious that it would be a shame to cover it in sauce. I only wish that they would start serving chirashi! TL;DR — Come here for an intimate and laidback experience with some of the freshest fish in LA.

I eat a lot of sushi… And by a lot I mean that I eat it almost everyday, by the pound and in over ten countries including Hong Kong and Singapore(sadly not Japan…) and Ajisai was honestly and incredible experience for me! My usual go to is Café Sushi on Beverly but my friend asked if we could try somewhere different tonight for dinner– he knew about this cool little place tucked away on Santa Monica that I would just adore and man, was he right! A very intimately set restaurant Ajisai is perfect for both the casual diner and romantic dinner, the décor is basic and they seem to only play smooth jazz but it works. Although everything on the menu looked incredible we settled on some salmon sashimi rolls, the spicy tuna cut rolls and two specialty rolls– the Mr Nixon(beware of the eel!) and the Mr Johnson. The rolls were expertly made, the ingredients fresh and the flavours absolutely delightful! I wanted to eat more but my belly was saying it was a very bad idea. I highly recommend coming here and bringing friends! Delicious food and I will definitely be coming back again soon.

I’ve had this place bookmarked forever, FINALLY got around to giving it a try! great quality, friendly service, quaint atmosphere, and a lot of regulars which is always a good sign. Shoei was funny and super laid back, which set the tone of the restaurant. let’s talk about the goods! Ajisai roll — salmon, crabmeat & avocado wrapped in cucumber served with a citrus ponzu(?) very tasty, pretty common at higher end sushi places, but the freshness of the ingredients combined with the sauce made it a winner. Salmon Citrus sashimi — again, super fresh, wish the cuts were a bit thicker tho =B Mr. Shoei roll — prob my favorite, super tasty! Baked crab handroll — good amount of crab in there, do yourself a favor and get the soy paper so it doesn’t smash down when you bite into it. overall, really good, but at a weird price point. I felt it was a bit high for the smaller portions, but the quality was definitely there.
