Hands down the best tacos I’ve had in LA! I would say the best tacos I’ve ever had but I’ve had a lot of tacos in my life and that’s a lot of contemplating. I will say that they were probably the best tortillas I’ve ever had. Thick and delicious. Was going to go for the sampler but the boyfriend and I instead decided to try several of the full size ones and double up on the ones we assumed we both would like. I started with the pescado and it was delicious! Loved the beans and the fish was delicate and meshed well with all the other flavors inside. The chicken tinga was my absolute favorite. I like spicy and it was the perfect amount of spice for me, a little hot for my boyfriend’s taste but he said he loved it as he was sniffling from the heat. The steak picado and bistek were both very good but tasted pretty similar. I decided to skip trying the chicharron because he said I wouldn’t like the texture but he said he enjoyed it. We also got the horchata with the shots of cold brew. I highly recommend it! Sometimes horchata is chalky tasting to me but this one was delicious. With the coffee added it tasted similar to an iced chai tea. Will definitely be back!

Don’t come here on a big day like Pride cause it’s a mess! First, they don’t have much seating which is not smart giving its prime location. Second, the day of Pride, they weren’t offering their taco sampler option. So I had to fork over too much money for their minuscule tacos a la carte. The tacos have no real distinct flavor between them and would not even leave a newborn baby full. Me and my friend were still hungry after dropping $$ on these street tacos. My friend’s quesadilla was not an actual quesadilla but their street taco folded. I know LA is big on small and stingy portions but cmon for the price point I want to feel full not empty like my online shopping carts. Customer service could’ve been better as well. Blah!

Was at pride and we were hungry and we happen to walk by here and was so happy since I’ve always wanted to come here or the location in DTLA. The tacos were just what we wanted and they tasted so good! Fresh and not skimpy. Flavored were amazing. We were lucky enough to not wait in a long line like everywhere else but they told us we missed a huge line they had for hours so we were all pleased. Definitely recommend this for your taco cravings!

About time I made it here… I have several friends on Facebook that post pics of delicious looking Guisados tacos like once a week. I had the steak picado and the camarones tacos. I enjoyed both but next time I would do TWO of the steak picado… that was the clear winner for me. My SO got three of the vegetarian options — the Hongos con Cilantro(mushroom), Frijoles con Queso and the Calabacitas(squash/tomatoes/peppers/corn/onions) tacos. We were going to share the Hongos taco but turned out to be our least favorite of the bunch. Her top pick was the calabacitas(mixed veggie) taco. We also split a melon aqua fresca — very refreshing! Service is fast and friendly — order at a counter and they bring it out to you. Tiny little bathrooms but relatively clean. Options to sit outside on the patio, inside/outside under a roof or inside. The tacos are a little drippy and messy — so don’t wear something white and get plenty of napkins. Will definitely go back. Good, super cheap dining option. And I can already tell I’m going to be craving these tacos soon.

While I think that Guisados is a great place, I am more accustomed to having Mexican street tacos since I grew up near the TJ/Chula Vista(Mexico/USA) border. I think that the tacos here are unique in that the meat is stew like and cooked to obtain a flavor that slow cooked. Since my boyfriend lives walking distance from here it is our go to spot if we just want a small snack but are too lazy to make something at home. I’m going to list some of my favorite tacos and provide some notes. Cochinita Pibil: my favorite. it has so much flavor and my goodness it is spicy. I still don’t understand how their spice scale goes from 1 – 10 because I had a 4 and I was dying. I think next time I’ll go for a 2 or a 3. Better to be on the lower end than having your mouth on fire. Also it seems like the spicy level is inconsistent because I had a 5 before and it was spicy but not too bad as the most recent time I got a 4. Steak Picado: your simple steak taco with a little bit of bell pepper. no bells or whistles Tinga de Pollo: this chicken taco has a nice zing to it. I like that it is topped with a slice of avocado. I really enjoy the tacos where they have the meat on top of a black bean bed/spread. It adds a nice texture. Also, their tortillas are amazing. I love their tortillas a million times more than the tacos itself. I wish I could buy a fat stack of them. They are the perfect texture and thickness with that really authentic corn taste. On a side note, if you order a bunch of tacos to go they give you this nice container to carry them so you don’t have to squish them or worry about the juices leaking everywhere. On a final note, get the horchata WITH the shot of stumptown cold brew. I love horchata and while I am not super into the coffee scene, I’m a big fan of stump town.

After a long trip from Catalina island, I just wanted to come back home and enjoy comforting food. I’ve been meaning to go to Guisado’s since its opening in WeHo and I’m so happy I did. As a first time customer, I decided to get the sampler. 6 mini tacos on a plate. The order consists of the first 6 on the restaurants menu of tacos. I also got the horchata. Traditionally, horchata or rice milk drink, is sweet and has a touch of cinnamon. This horchata was unreal. It was creamy, not too sweet, and perfectly balanced with the rice and cinnamon. 6 mini taco sampler review: 1. Steak Picado: meat is soft, flavorful, kinda like stewed meat but with more robust flavor. 2. Bistek Roja: kinda like pot roasted meat with red peppers and tomato. It reminds you of a comforting bowl of home made meat without potatoes. 3. Chicken Mole: perfect perfect Mole! Not too sweet and not too bitter. Beautiful taste. Nicely paired with sesame seeds. 4. Tinga de pollo: shredded chicken in light tomato sauce also like a stewed chicken. Very soft, very flavorful and is creamy when eaten with the avocado. 5. Chicharron: simple amazing. Soft, fatty, a flavor bomb in your mouth. It’s so savory. You would want like 100x more if you could. 6. Cochinita Pibil: giving chichen itza a run for its money! Amazing taco! The pickled onions pair with the pork nicely. The pork is soft, shredded, and oh so flavorful! I recommend putting some of the habanero salsa with it for a nice kick!

Was in LA for the weekend for the Beyonce concert. I knew i had to make time to eat here. Parked in the Pavillion parking lot and walked. Me and my ordered ordered the Sampler and the cantelope and limon drink. Tacos was so delicous and full of flavor! My friend thought some of the tacos was a lil too spicy, but i thought it was great. I wished they had a Guisados in Sacramento. I would definitely come back whenever i’m back in LA. Overall… Great food and good prices.

Guisados has the best tortillas in the game, hands down. I buy two dozen every time I go so I can have them in my freezer for egg tacos on the weekends. They also have some preeeeeetty good tacos but none that I felt really deserved 5 star status. Everything is good, don’t get me wrong, but they need to work a bit on the flavors of their chicken tacos(Tinga) and pretty much all their pork tacos. They all tasted a bit one dimensional to me, and I’m all for simplicity when it comes to tacos, but I felt the meat could have been better marinated or sauced. I’m still looking for them to deliver a taco that figuratively punches me in the face. Service is really excellent there though, so make sure you check this awesome place out!

I ordered Guisados from Postmates and was so impressed with their tacos! My favorite tacos were: Mole taco — shredded chicken with a rich, earthy mole sauce Pescado taco — a lovely piece of white fish with black beans, cabbage, avocado, cilantro cream and pico de gallo Chicken tinga –shredded chicken breast with tomatoes, cabbage and chipotle chili. My least favorite taco: Calabasitas — squash, tomatoes, bell peppers, corn, and onions. Served with queso fresco and mild chipotle cream. This one was mushy and lacked flavor and texture. Tacos are priced around $ 2.75 and it usually takes two tacos to fill me up and three for my husband. How many places can you have a tasty, filling dinner for around $ 8 a person?! Not many in West Hollywood! This is going to be one of my weeknight go-to’s!

The tacos here are really good but none of the ones I had are«the best taco I’ve ever had» status. I tried the fish, shrimp, Verde, roja, chorizo and mole. They all had good flavor but lacked a little something to push it to five stars. I’d say the chorizo and roja are my two top choices. The melon drink was also really good. Great flavor and sweet but not overly so. I really liked the corn tortillas. You can taste the quality and the texture is firm enough to hold the filings and soft enough for an easy bite. Very solid and we are already planning to come back.

Super consistent. People who want an intro to good tacos here in LA should peep this place. How convenient that they have a branch in west Hollywood. The breakfast tacos in Boyle Heights are so good tho. Guisados maybe a chain but the handmade tortillas and good quality ingredients won’t fail you. The sampler is a great way to get introduced to their repertoire. My personal favorite is the Chicharron. There’s just some kind of unexplainable magic in the way those ingredients all mesh together in your first bite. I remember their horchata iced coffee being better tho. There was a weird sting everytime i took a sip like it was spiked. Somebody enlighten me if you can explain it.

Guisados can make you great tacos! Though we didn’t order all the tacos on the menu, but by just tasting 4 different kinds, we already knew that Guisados can make tacos that would just make you wanna come back for more! We ordered 2 Mole Poblanos($ 2.75 each. Chicken braised in a nutty poblano-style mole. Served with queso fresco, cream, red onion and a salsa seca), a chuleta en chile verde($ 2.75. Grilled pork chop diced & simmered in a homemade chile verde-served with salsa verde, chile arbol & cream atop black bean; camarones($ 3.00. shrimp, onions and bell peppers grilled fajita style served with chipotle sour cream; and pescado($ 3. Grilled white fish atop black beans served with cabbage, avocado, cream, chile arbol & pico de gallo. Basically all tacos are $ 2.75 except the seafood ones are $ 3 each. Seriously Unilocalers, if you love tacos(I love tacos), you’ll want to try Guisados. It’s just that good! Parking can be a little bit of a challenge here in Weho, but for great tacos and excellent prices, I am sure you can manage.

Probably wont be back. Flavors were good enough. Service was friendly. I got my side of habanero salsa but not a green salsa. Not sure if they even have that to give. I got the sampler of 6 plus a shrimp taco. Shrimp was good. Three large shrimp, tasty but not screaming Mexican flavors that much. Tacos in sampler: First taco I had was very sweet tasting. Strange but whatever, I’m hungry. The mini tacos are very small. Smaller than one dollar food truck tacos. My second taco, which I believe was molé and some protein, was just chunks of soft fat. Not cartilage or gristle, just a bunch of chunks of slimy fat. WTF? I was so confused I had to spit it out. There was no evidence of cooked meat, it wasn’t like they put chicharron and it got soggy, it was straight. Up. Fat. Seeing as it was the mole taco that was supposed to be chicken. I don’t recall any chicken or anything other than a slimy texture in this taco. I was completely sober during this experience too. That nearly ruined the experience for me. I didn’t see much variety here, but the place has a solid location and is open until midnight. However a day later, I am CRAVING real Mexican food because this sure as hell isn’t it.

Guisados is my favorite TACOSTAND of all time! I’ve been to their Echo Park and DTLA locations, but this new WeHo location totally rocks. Very casual, edgy industrial artsy interior décor with both interior and exterior seating in covered patio. I’ve tried almost all their different flavors: beef, chicken, mushroom, fish, and shrimp tacos. I have even tried the corn tamale and cheese quesadilla($ 2.75−3.00/each). Everything is tasty, but I still prefer their signature taco items. It adds up quickly, yet it’s worth it(aver $ 10−16/person). I wanted to notate the Unilocal complaints that they are overpriced for the small portions, but the quality and taste are distinctive — especially with the handmade thick chewy corn tortillas. Luv their fresh Melon & Jamaica hibiscus half & half combo(customized request) — order with no ice to get higher fresh juice concentration, and tangy tart flavor. It’s a lot of sugar, but worth every calorie. My absolute FAVORITE is the chicken mole poblano with its complex flavors and nutty notes, so next time I will get 3 chicken mole poblanos! Soooo delish.

This place is great! A very simple menu: tacos or tamales. In our case, both. They’re super fast. Staff is informative and fun. Tables are comfy and clean. We got three samplers so tried a bunch of their tacos and each was more delicious than the next. These are not like traditional tacos piled with salsa and fixing but instead are simple fresh tortillas with the meat/seasoning mix and a single garnish. Different. But awesome. PROS: horchata(w/espresso shot, if you want); great deals; clean facilities despite being so busy CONS: be warned when they say spicy, they mean SPICY.

I’ve been wanting to try this taco place forevs! I know the other location has way more reviews and hype but I was closer to this location and I’m sure it’s the same great food. Are you craving some bomb tacos? Are you drunk? Lol jk you don’t gotta be drunk to love love this place! It’s soooo yummy! I got the chicken taco, this was has a kick to it! I also got the steak picado taco. This one wasn’t as spicy but still yummy. I also got a quesadilla. It definitely didn’t look like what I was expecting, but it was sooo good! It basically just had a cheese cube in it! So weird, but so good! My friend got a chicken taco, the mole, and fish taco. The mole was also really delish! Each taco was $ 2.75 and the fish one was 3 bucks. I paid for our entire meal and it was like 18 bucks all together. Not bad for really great tacos! I could have eaten way more cus I was sooo hungry and a little intoxicated. I love the location! It’s in a very popping area. It’s great to sit out and people watch while you eat. There are bars on either side and across the street and just everywhere. We got there around 1 am and there was kind of a line but it was quick. The employees were also so nice! They were helpful when I asked questions about which one to get. I will definitely be back! I want to try the other location just cus of the hype. I don’t think there is decent parking, we ubered it. But they don’t have their own parking or anything. I think just street parking. Come get tacos! I’ll be back really soon :)

This Guisados maintains the high standards of its DTLA location, which I’ve been to more often. Got to try some new things so I figured I’d review this one too! SAMPLER($ 7.25): I always recommend the sampler for those who are new here. By default it comes with smaller sizes of the first 6 items on the menu, aka 2 beef(picado and roja), 2 chicken(tinga and mole), and 2 pork(cochinita pibil and chicharron) tacos. These are great to start since they give you variety without going crazy. However, you’re welcome to choose your own 6 tacos from any of the options(with the exception of the chiles toreados and seafood varieties). I stuck to the cochinita pibil, chicken tinga, and mole, but i switched out the other 3 for chorizo, hongos(mushrooms), and calabacitas(squash). This was probably my favorite combo so far. The vegetable options were flavorful and held their own against the meats. If you like mushrooms, I highly recommend the hongos taco which comes wth creamy cilantro salsa and queso fresco. In terms of meats, I tend to find the cochinita pibil pretty spicy but also a must because of its intense flavor. And even after many times here, the big winner for me is always the chicken tinga. It’s spicy without setting your mouth on fire and a little bit tangy from the tomato-based sauce. PESCADOTACO($ 3): I’ve been curious about the seafood options here for a while, and since they aren’t included in the sampler, I ordered a regular size pescado taco. I expected fried fish but was pleasantly surprised that it was grilled instead. Topped with cabbage slaw and fresh pico, it was a nice change of pace from the rest of the tacos. I was definitely full after having this alongside my sampler. Given that, I’d say 2 or 3 regular tacos here will fill you up. HORCHATA + COLDBREW($ 4): I’ve had their horchata($ 2) before, but this was my first time adding a double-shot of cold brew for an additional $ 2. I was pretty excited because they use Stumptown coffee, and they didn’t disappoint. The creamy, super cinnamon-y horchata goes very well with Stumptown’s smooth cold brew. My only wish was that the coffee flavor stood out a little more, since it gets easily overwhelmed by the cinnamon in the drink. Overall, I’m very happy with this location and with Guisados overall. Consistently a great bet for tacos. Yes the prices are a bit higher than your average neighborhood taco stand, but the value is still great given the quality and portion sizes.

I was craving the typical late night taco and I heard how amazing this place was so I decided to try it out. I didn’t really expect Guisados to be as it was. Me and my friends kept on saying how it was a hipster taco place. One of my biggest complaints would be that the tacos were pretty overpriced, each small taco was almost $ 3 each. I think the best option tbh would be the sampler plate which I think was about $ 6 – 7 for 6 smaller tacos. If you’ve never been here before, Unilocal doesn’t really help because all of the taco names are in Spanish and I didn’t really understand what was inside each of these tacos. The website is really helpful because they give you a clear description of what is inside each of these tacos. I got the chorizo, shrimp, and chicken tacos. My favorite was the chorizo one. I think the chicken taco was called the tinga(?) taco which I would like to warn you is a bit spicy. This place is good, but I don’t know if I would come here often considering how expensive it is. When I’m craving tacos, it’s usually for a quick and cheap meal. I kinda like the authenticity of taco trucks.

After reading about Guisados being one of the best taco spots in LA, I had to go try it. Finally got a chance to go last night and ordered their horchata and taco sampler. Taco sampler($ 7): the employee said this is equivalent to 2 ½ regular size tacos. I was expecting to be blown away by the tacos, but I thought they were just okay. I wasn’t a big fan of the tortillas, they were too thick for me and made me feel like I was only getting full off of them. Horchata($ 2): it was really grainy, not sure what was in it but that texture wasn’t too pleasant. Overall I think this is a good spot for drunchies, but that’s it. Average, overpriced tacos to me. The cashier was very friendly though and provided good customer service.
