Great old fashioned bike shop, very carefully maintained and the prices are on the higher side but the services on the bicycles is always excellent, Be sure to ask the owner the best bike routes in the area, whether your vacationing or commuting

I recently moved to West Hollywood, and wanted a basic bike to just get around town, so I ordered one online from Amazon. I opened the package with some sort of stupid confidence that I would be able to put it together, and 15 minutes in I knew I was not going to trust myself alongside crazy LA drivers with a bike that I questionably put together. I walked it over to Mike’s shop. He had quoted me that a check-up would be $ 90, but when he saw what I had already done, he said he would only charge $ 40. In an hour, I was able to pick up my bike, fully constructed and ready to ride. Mike went over the pros and cons of my frame, the brakes and the derailleurs, and made me feel confident that the thing wouldn’t fall apart on me. Long story short, Mike is an honest guy and he will make your bike road ready for a fair price!

First off, the only reason I’m not giving this a 5-star rating is because I tend to discount them when I see them from other reviews. I live in the neighborhood and stopped in to say hello when I noticed the shop was open. Mike seemed like a good guy and I like to patronize local businesses when I can, so I asked what he would charge to give my bike a «tune-up.» It’s been sitting for almost a year now and I was pretty sure it needed some adjustment. He said he could do it for $ 20, so I took it in today. It ended up needing very little adjustment(front dérailleur only), so he only charged me $ 7! I hope Mike’s business takes off — I certainly will take my bike there whenever it needs anything!

What an honor to pop Mike’s Unilocal Cherry! I needed a tool for my bike that I don’t have. I was aiming for the hardware store on Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood, and noticed a bike frame hanging on a repair rack in a window. I’m a sucker for a naked roadie, so I pulled in to check out her fork(if you know what I mean). I met Mike, the owner, and told him what I was after. He couldn’t sell me the tool I was looking for; but offered to help me figure out the size I needed to make it easier when I went to the hardware store(#8 metric, duh!). Before I knew it, my bike was hanging on Mike’s rack, and he was unscrewing her crank(if you still know what I mean). Ten minutes later it was«wham; bam; thank you, Schwinnie.» It cost me less than twenty dollars. While I waited, I got to check out some really cool old road bikes he has hanging around. Thank you, Mike; and welcome to the neighborhood.
