It really is phonomenal!!! Service is fantastic and the ingredients are top notch. My friend from out of town showed me this place. He always comes here every time he’s in town. I will definitely be making my way back

My go to phở spot when ever I come to Hollywood! Good prices and even better food! Super friendly service and the outdoor seating makes it that much more enjoyable! Get the veggie phở and take advantage of the bottomless mimosas!

My favorite phó spot in LA! Adorable outside garden dining area. Bottomless papaya mimosas. Fresh and delicious soup, and great service to top it off. Definitely coming here next time I’m in town.

BESTPHOINWEHO(maybe even LA). I adore this restaurant and will literally find any excuse to come here. They always treat their guests well and their phở is amazing. I am a bit of a phở snob and absolutely do not mess around with my love of this phở. The broth is delicious and always on point. The actual ambiance of the restaurant is another reason I come time and time again. Super chill and sweet courtyard to eat in, complete with trees and grand water fountain. Always nice mellow music playing. Inside is nice and cozy, but spacious. You will love this place.

We actually made plans to eat at the Shake Shack across the road. We went at an odd time(4PM) thinking we could score a short line at the Shack. Aaaaaaand we were wrong! We even paid for the parking(there’s $ 4 I’ll never see again). We decided to walk up and down the street for food options, and decided to try Phenomenal. Walking In: The place wasn’t at all too inviting as we walked in. You walk into a courtyard. I could, however, imagine it being lively on a busy night with the gardens lit, and the place loud. We were the only ones there, we opted to dine inside. As we looked and looked for someone to greet us, a lady in the back kitchen saw a glimpse of us and turned her back. A bit odd, maybe she was looking for a waiter to come and greet/seat us. As one of the guys in the back came around to seat us, another followed to give us two cups of water… We’ll get back to that later. Inside/seating area wasn’t clean. Maybe it was because we were the only ones in there, so it forces you to really be meticulous about every little detail. Chairs are fine, tables were small, and ¼ of it(like most vietnamese places) was already taken up by sauces/spices and utensils. As we sat down, we couldn’t help but hear the loud booming music that filled the place. Oddly, for a vietnamese place, we were hearing techno music. Nothing gets me going like vietnamese vermicelli and Avicii(sarcasm). We wouldn’t have minded it, but again, it was loud and we were the only ones in there. It was also 4PM and we weren’t about to go clubbing immediately after we phở it up. Food: Back to the water. These glasses looked like they’ve been washed up and down the mississippi river. As we first glanced at the water, the lady and I both looked at each other and immediately looked at the beverage section. We opted for the vietnamese iced coffee. Yes, we know it uses the same water, but at least visually it looked safe — plus we’ve been trying to stop carbonated drinks(which they offer as well). We placed an order for vietnamese spring rolls at first. The lady then ordered beef phở, and I opted for the grilled pork(dry) vermicelli with fried spring rolls on top. The peanut sauce was terrible. It looked like they were looking to cut cost so a good amount of water as added to the sauce. It looked like wet poop, but tasted like Jif(yea wrap that around your head). Shrimp tasted fine, vegetables a bit old, and the spring roll rapper was tough and chewy. Needless to say, we couldn’t wait for our entrees to come. Especially since the Vietnamese coffee was at ¼ level high. As we received our foods, I give it to them, the presentation was actually«phonomenal». In the world of Unilocal, where decisions are 90% visual, then yea I can understand why people would be enticed to try this. Phở looked good too, we couldn’t wait to try it. The park was amazing. It was marinated well and had great texture. It mixed well with the vermicelli. The spring roll on top of the noodles was actually my GF’s favorite. Hey, if all things go south, might as well deep fry it. Her phở on the other hand was bland. I trust her reviews on these, she grew up with Vietnamese food fed to her daily. Service: Mediocre to non-existent. Maybe a couple of times, the guy would ask us how we’re doing. But in a forced corner type of way. Instead of asking us how everything was(which gives you an opportunity for an open-ended responded), he asked us, is the food tasting amazing? What do you say, yes/no? We just said thank you, it’s working. Parking: street parking. Be careful with the neighborhood parking across the street. If it’s not metered, you need a special parking permit/tag. Overall: Probably won’t be back here. LA has too many options. If we do, we’d have to try it when it’s night time and filled with people.

The atmosphere is great. Restaurant is clean and nicely decorated with good background music. The service is below average. You have to ask to get the bill… that’s if you are able to spot a waiter in the restaurant. The phở is decent. But small portion for a $ 10 bowl. It comes in a large bowl but the bowl is half full. It just doesn’t feel right when your bowl is not at least ¾ full. You’ll get 2 slices of jalapeños on the side. A small portion of basil. 1 napkin. Need to be a bit more generous if charging $ 10 for a small bowl.

We have been coming here for years and always have a good experience. We ordered take out yesterday and it was just as good as dining in. We had the beef combination Phở, royal rolls, & the fresh spring rolls. Everything was solid.

Visiting from out of town, and had a phở craving and this place really hit the spot. Came for lunch, service was great, my waiter was friendly, and the beef phở was out of this world.

Really only writing this because I feel like it is my public service to do so, the food here was practically inedible. Had 2 bites of my phở and I was done, BF felt the same. Not sure about the rest of food but don’t come here for phở, no flavor at all, meat was awful, you can tell came right from the fridge, barely heated, noodles were basically plopped into the soup from the package. Also don’t come here for calamari, that was bad too. Just paid for the awful food and left it there. Didn’t even want to take it to go and give it to a homeless man because I found it might be insulting to give such awful food.

Best tasting phở ever! The broth is so delicious! Also recommend the vegetable spring roll! It didn’t look as good but the taste was awesome!

I ordered seafood phở and vegetable phở through Postmates. The seafood was so undercooked the shrimp were still translucent and blue. The vegetables were raw and bitter. When I called to tell them it was undercooked, the man who answered told me they purposely send it out undercooked because they don’t want to overcook their shrimp. He said that the hot broth will cook it when you put it in. I explained that the broth was not hot enough to cook anything. He said it cooled during delivery, and that I should cook it myself. Um, that kind of misses the point if delivery. When I suggested that he either a) cook food he is going to send out for delivery or b) not offer delivery he got very mad. I probably won’t go in to see if it’s cooked when you eat in the restaurant.

I am so happy to have a decent phở place that is walking distance. Portion was huge and it was pretty good. Also ordered summer roll with the phở. I rarely find a phở place that has the summer roll with pork so I was pretty happy. I love how it’s a little court yard with a little water fountain in the middle. Definitely doesn’t feel like I am at a phở restaurant!

Not sure about these mixed reviews but when I went the phở was an awesome bowl of hot goodness. A few weeks earlier I had phở in a popular west los angeles restaurant and was disappointed by a luke warm broth which left the meat uncooked. So I was really excited when Phonomenal presented me with a hot bowl of phở with perfectly cooked noodles. I asked the owner if the bowl is always this hot… cuz I’d be coming back for sure if it was… I got an affirmative yes. The cha go and the coconut dessert was also stellar. Definitely looking forward to going back. I forget his name but the young guy that’s part of the family that runs the restaurant made his way around the restaurant to be sure everyone was happy. Nice out door dining area, with great service and an awesome bowl of HOT phở!

The fact that they have an outdoor dinning that is so soothing to look at, sold the deal for me. I was hooked! Service was fantastic, my dishes came out quick, and I came at the right time where I almost had the whole outdoor dining to myself. It was a great zen dinner especially after a long day of work! –PS, they are very dog friendly so make sure to bring your pooch with ya! Until then, ~ Cheers! :p

Love the garden style patio seating, very romantic. However, they didn’t know what I meant by tai rieng(rare steak on the side)… Kept throwing it in my bowl, got it all cooked. Had to really explain. A shame because hello! Vietnamese, right? Overpriced and skimpy on everything from meat to noodles. Sucks because the broth was good.

I really liked this place. Everything was incredibly fresh, full of flavor and delicious. We got the Spring Rolls, the Royal Rolls, some grilled pork vermicelli and the beef combo phở. It was all wonderful! It was also a lot of food! Really a great price point for the portion size as well. BF was happy they had a Tahitian beer that is hard to find and the sip I had made me think I would get it next time. We sat outside in the lovely courtyard patio and listened the fountain which muffles out the sound of Santa Monica Blvd. Excellent, friendly service and they are dog friendly, which is nice. Not that I can take my crazy dogs anywhere, but I enjoy seeing other pups out. I’ll be back. Parking next to Leash & Collar, although we(inexplicably!) found street parking with no issue. This is rare, so it’s good to know they have a lot.
