Teachers are good for the most part. The front office staff are nice yet not on top of their billing (random and accidental charges) and terrible with responding to emails and phone calls. If you can avoid putting them on auto-​pay, you’ll avoid a headache.

Not a fan of the parking… There’s 6 spots in their lot that is shared with other businesses. You could park on Fairfax or Santa Monica but make sure to read the signs carefully to check when the meters expires.
The split levels throw me off a but I’m sure the more I go the more familiar I’ll get with the layout.
I’m not a fan of bringing your bags into class but it’s not hot yoga so I guess it’s not a big deal. And no water but then again it’s not hot yoga. Guess I’m just a fan of hot yoga?
Level ²⁄₃ classes are no joke! You are doing arm balances and pretty challenging poses so be prepared to sweat!

I came to a couple of beginners classes, and was fairly unimpressed. I am active and fit, so I did not have any issues getting into or holding the poses. However, the instruction was minimal. The instructor didn’t demonstrate the poses, and simply called them out. I had to constantly watch the people around me to figure out what I was supposed to be doing and try to keep up. I would have enjoyed the class if it was treated as an actual beginners class instead of expecting that everyone knew what to do already. The staff was mostly unhelpful as well. They told me class was upstairs, so I found the room. No one told me where anything was, what else I needed (apparently you are supposed to grab some sort of blocks and straps?), or where I should go. If you are a beginner, I would not recommend.

This place is a first class rip off. YogaWorks is the McDonalds of Yoga. They run it like a chain of Bally’s Total Fitness gyms. Really, all they are interested in doing is getting your credit card on file to bill you. Didn’t order the online subscription? That’s ok, they will bill you for it anyway. This place has no soul… and a yoga practice needs a little soul, at the very least…

This is a review on the Saturday afternoon prenatal postnatal yoga class. It is phenomenal.

I was in town for the summer and this place was a real haven. I took Kate’s prenatal class each week, 2 – 3 times. She’s an incredible and inspiring instructor; she organizes her classes in such a thoughtful manner. She’s innately calm, knowing, warm and attuned to her students. The environment felt welcoming, safe and fun. This was not my first experience with yoga but my first prenatal and I’m so grateful for everything I’ve come away with! Sharon’s restorative class is also a joy. My husband and I went together several times. She manages to give individual attention to everyone even when the room gets packed. So come early! And often! The nights I went I slept like a log. It was delicious. The staff here is great too. Friendly, kind and always running deals and specials on membership and in the shop. They seem to take feedback/​comment cards very seriously. Not to mention the quality of the studios, which are beautiful. Particularly upstairs, but downstairs has its charm too. Thanks yogaworks!

I like this studio for a good vibe and a medium hard class with good atmosphere. I attended a vinyasa class with tibetan singing bowls, cool idea.

Just grading the studio itself… there are much better choices. Parking is terrible. Last time I drove 40 minutes to take a class with Marla (great teacher) and drove around for 20 minutes searching and missed the class and drove home. Plus it smells really bad in the stariway entrance.

I love this place! Jenn Abel is the best yoga teacher and you should go just to try her class. Alain Benetar is outstanding too! The classes are not jam packed with loud music blaring in your ears as you try to balance. Instead you get a calm, connected feeling throughout the whole class which is the point of doing yoga. Parking is easy enough because there are lots of residential streets around that you can find parking.

I’ve taken prenatal yoga with Kate Eales for the last 6 months or so. It’s been life changing. Kate is knowledgeable, caring, nurturing, and I’m so thankful I made the decision to do this during my pregnancy. The staff at Yoga Works are so sweet and lovely to me. They all know my name and want to make sure I’m comfortable. Shout out to Charley and Anna, (I’m horrible I don’t know the other girls’ names.) I will for sure continue with postnatal classes, and I’m really hoping that Kate will get a permanent Mommy and Me yoga class on the schedule. All of my mommy friends would love it. I’ve met amazing friends in class and I will miss coming to Yoga Works while I’m recovering from child birth. 5 big stars.

I am a big fan of this studio. I did my teacher training here when it was City Yoga, over a decade ago. Now I come for one teacher in particular — Jenny Aurthur. I sometimes make it to this studio for other classes but I live closer to Center for Yoga on Larchmont so I mostly go there except when Jenny is teaching. She is amazing!
Also I think the studio itself is totally charming and sweet. It’s not a über new high tech glossy studio, but a place with warmth and grounding energy of the older building it’s located within. Reminds me of some of my most beloved studios in NYC over 20 years ago when I started my practice.

I like this studio as the staff is friendly, there are changing rooms, and lots of various level classes throughout the day.
There is a small parking lot across the street or street parking.

Great instructors and a relaxing, quiet yoga studio. I’ve only been in the large white bricked room so I’m not sure if there are others. I’ve tried a restorative class and one regular class. Both were excellent classes. I recommend this studio to anyone.

I want to like it here. I really do. I’m struggling to find my new yoga home since I’ve moved back over the hill from Da Valley. I’m currently in a 30 day unlimited trial at Yogaworks. They were very nice about getting me registered on the day I redeemed the Groupon. No issues there as I truly was a new student at that studio.
I am an urban person, I want to walk to as many businesses as I can, but there’s no yoga studio w/​i walking distance from where I live, so I have to drive. The parking situation at this location is beyond horrid. They have three parking spots allotted to them in the lot across the street and that’s it. So you’re stuck with trying to find spots in the ‘hood (mostly permit parking for residents) or paying for meters. Their class prices when you’re not on a Groupon are pricey, so to have to spend $ 3 on a meter every time you attend class is just insult to injury on top of high class pricing.
The classes I’ve experienced so far have been crowded, like wall to wall people. However the teachers are great and make you forget how packed in you are.

Great yoga lousy service.
Like other reviewers, I too faced the situation where staff gives you erroneous information — you get the full smack down/​denial when you arrive at studio. Additionally friend couldn’t even get a description of the difference between level 1 and 2 classes.
You just have to wonder WTF! Either hire more competent people or train them better — this kind of #$%$# never happened when it was City Yoga

this review is about their service, not about their classes.
My cousin visited from Korea, and she wanted to see how yoga was here compared to where she’s from. Seeing the 1 week free trial coupon, i called in on Tuesday to see if they can accommodate her even if she wasn’t a local resident. A guy answered, and after explaining my situation, he said my cousin will be able to drop in for free for a day. He mentioned that he’ll leave a note for the girls who will be working the next day so we’ll be able to complete our registration. When we did pop in on Wednesday, the girls at the desk did not honor the request and told us that they have no idea whom we talked to. Although I had no problems getting my free week trial, they charged my cousin $ 60(?) for a week. I told her we are literally taking just one class, but she still charged us $ 20-​something for a day. We decided not to pay, not because we are cheap, but because they told us one thing on the phone without any intentions of honoring the request. It would’ve been fine if they told us straight up from the beginning that she’d have to pay since she’s from elsewhere. We even told them the time I talked to the guy on the phone and what he told us, but to no avail.
Next time, please be more straight forward with your customers so I dont waste my time and my money (i put in full 2 hours at the meter).
I wont be coming back.

This review is a bit bias, so I’m going to start with a warning:
I live in a sweat box. I don’t mean like, it’s 70 degrees and a little breezy but still warm, I mean if you came into my apartment you’d think there would be a bunch of old men in towels sitting around and pouring water onto coals to create steam. It’s HOT in my apartment, my landlord is too fucking cheap to put in an a/​c because «Oh it’s Santa Monica, you get the breeze from the ocean,» blah blah lies lies lies. Also I do Bikram Yoga voluntarily.
My ability to withstand the heat is like, legendary to some people, including my boyfriend’s family, whose house is kept at a cool frigid 5 degrees year round (alright it’s like 60 but STILL). When his sister asked me to do yoga with her, naturally I accepted. I do yoga, sometimes. Most of it these days is standing in front of my boyfriend and dictating/​correcting his every movement while he stretches, because if I don’t he’ll die from forgetting to breathe.
I did a beginners class with her because she’s never done any yoga, ever. I still consider myself a beginner, and still like to refresh some techniques, so I went happily. The place is hard to find because I am a dumbass who can’t read signs, and it’s upstairs, and they’re very hippy here, which is nice and welcoming, with the exception of all the overpriced things on display. That’s not very hippy.
The yoga instructor was funny, welcoming, and obviously very good at her job. She helped me to finally get into Downward Dog (god I hate that asana), after five years of on-​and-​off practice, and she was trying her best to keep the class going despite — and here is where my warning makes sense — the studio being a sweat box.
Everyone was uncomfortable, except me and her, it seemed. Maybe a couple people were fine, but I wasn’t paying attention to them (and neither should you! Keep your attention on yourself!). Although I was paying attention to my boyfriend’s sister to make sure she was okay, and she was not, because she is a penguin used to the arctic and I am a reptile who requires sitting under a heat lamp to live.
If you are also a reptile, I suggest coming here to at least try it out.

Get your om on at one of the top yoga studios in Los Angeles. Lots of my favorites teach here, like Vinnie M.
While parking is annoying to find since it’s all street/​neighborhood parking, it’s still a great place if you can bypass that hurdle.
Try romaine or south of that.
Studio is pretty clean and sanitary. Highly recommend it!

I came a few times when this place was City Yoga but was unimpressed with the premises. When it got bought out by YogaWorks I thought I’d stop by to see if any improvements had been made. Unfortunately, all is the same as I remembered it except for the pack-‘em-like-sardines corporate mentality.
This studio is shabby; that’s all there is to it. It’s located in two small rooms of a dilapidated building off of Santa Monica Boulevard. Think of the cheapest walk-​up apartment you’ve been to – it’s like that. The walls need painting, the insulation (and sound-​proofing, which we all know is important when we’re trying to meditate!) is non-​existent, and there’s no room to stick a couple of fans. In the summertime you’re basically coming for Hot Yoga whether or not that’s what you anticipated. The two tiny bathrooms aren’t nearly adequate for the volume of people that come through the studio.
When I visited during its YogaWorks incarnation, the teacher was so late that the manager had to step in and teach instead. It now has a bit of a corporate feel – they charge you to use their mats and there’s hardly any elbow room during the classes.
That being said, it’s still yoga, which is always wonderful.

I really liked this studio during my recent stay in LA. They had a lot of early morning classes and the instructors were great. They also offer a ton of different classes throughout the day giving a student flexibility on when they would/​could go. I always like that.
The classes weren’t huge, so you had plenty of choices of where you could lay out your mat. The room was nice and open, the ceilings were high and the exposed brick just made it that much cooler. The instructor is up on a podium for everyone to see. I’m guessing that is really helpful when it’s jam packed, but it was 6AM, and not that many people had showed up for the classes that I took.
Because I went early in the morning, it was cool to have the sun beam down on your while you practiced. When you were working on sun salutes, you were actually doing them in the sun.
Warning — Parking effing blows on Thursday mornings. Everything is pretty much off limits because of street sweeping and the next closest place is a couple of blocks away. I came early, circled for 20-​minutes without any luck. I was too late by the time I found a spot and missed the class. Every time I tried calling the studio, nobody picked up, so I wasn’t sure if there was an easier method. The parking spaces behind the business were all reserved for the gym in the same complex. They should definitely open those up to anyone that visits the center!
Tip: Sign up online and get a free week to try out any of their studios, otherwise it’s $ 22 per class.
Bonus: it’s right across the street from Starbucks so you can refuel on caffeine after your sweat session.
Downer: The man at the counter is kinda cranky. It was 6AM, so I definitely gave him the benefit of the doubt.
