It’s super casual, a tiny place with a few tables. They sell some Asian snacks there too. Like a little market. I cannot say it’s the best quality sushi. However, the owners are nice and welcoming. Because of that, I’ve gone back on days I want sushi and do not feel like going out out.

Let me start by saying I WAS not a fan of sushi. This place turned that all around. The minute you walk in the door the husband wife owner duo are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. The husband was giving chopstick lessons and is hysterical. The place is amazingly clean. And inside is a little Japanese food area where you can find many things most notably my favorite item Pocky! The food is on point and delicious! I had the shrimp shumai which are shrimp dumplings. Absolutely awesome. Then I picked a safe option as I said im just broadening my horizons and went with the hi sushi special roll. Crab tempura shrimp out of this world I highly recommend. The restaurant is so clean and I will def be telling everyone about this place and I highly recommend it to any sushi fan. Thank you hi sushi you have def helped me on my path to sushi. And have recieved a great 5 stars.

They have great deals for lunch: 2 veggie sushi rolls, soup, salad, and tea for under $ 8. Good crab shumai(dumplings) too! It’s not the fanciest atmosphere or food, but it definitely does the trick for lunch. Very filling and a great deal. The couple who runs the restaurant is super-friendly!

I just had take out from Hi Sushi this week and unfortunately it was not as good as it used to be. There are too many amazing sushi places in Bay Shore & Babylon to accept mediocre sushi. Sadly I will no longer go to Hi Sushi.

I’ve been coming here for years for take-out. The owner(who calls himself Sushi Steve) is as friendly as they come! The only issue is trying to understand him with his thick accent — but as a regular customer, I’m treated like gold every time I come in. With a little tip and my take-out purchase I usually leave not only with my food, but with a little dessert snack as well(some kind of Japanese candy, cookie, or gum) But you want to know about the sushi. Well, ok… The chef’s special rolls are quite large and the rice is tightly packed, so they will fill you up. The spicy rolls are not very mayonnaise-based and VERY spicy, so proceed with caution. The«cunch» flakes are more like corn flakes than little tempura flakes… so watch out. I happen to think that the Miso soup is quite good and I always ask for it, but the portion is very small. I’m not a fan of all of the types of fish that come with the sushi deluxe platter(it includes surf clam and squid, when I really prefer tuna, yellowtail, and salmon) but the fish is of fine quality. It’s not the BEST sushi in the area, but I enjoy it and there is great variety.
