Another small diner but with great food. Road trip consisted with us driving through so we decided to stop on the area again. With the trusty help of help, I decided to choose the cinnamon roll pancakes and was extremely satisfied. So delicious!

I know 4 Aces is a big deal in the area, but I actually preferred some of the other diners over this place. 4 Aces definitely has a ton of variety and it’s amazing how creative some of their breakfast options get. I kept it really simple and just had two eggs with white toast and bacon. The eggs were fine, but nothing spectacular, the toast was hardly toasted, and everything else was meh. They tend to have a line here at all hours of the day… unless you come absurdly early, so be wary of that. Prices are fine relative to Lou’s, but certainly higher than Shryl’s right down the street. Service is definitely very friendly. It was a little slow, but the place is always packed so perhaps that is to be expected. Overall, I thought it was an okay diner experience, but definitely nothing to write home about. tldr; another okay diner, though has the most variety of dishes relative to other options in the Upper Valley — maybe I went wrong because I didn’t try one of those more creative options?

We had breakfast and wow, was it wonderful. We started with a hot popover maple butter. Yum. My husband had the traditional eggs benedict — he raved about it. I had an omelet that was outstanding and served with the most delicious homemade rye bread I have ever had. And we both agreed that the potatoes were so much better than the average spot. This is our new favorite breakfast place!

It is an adequate diner in an area without much to choose from. That goes for a lot. That said, we didn’t care much for the really thick soft home fries, which were more like steak fries, nor for the hash — much better at Eatons. But the eggs were solid and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The donuts looked amazing although we didn’t get one. I’d go again sometime.

TL;DR: long waits if you don’t sit at the counter, snappy service, but excellent food. Food: eggs Benedict are awesome, omelettes are meh. For vegetarians, the eggs florentine are delicious. Their home fries are huge and crispy. Prices much better than Lou’s($ 11 for my florentine). Basic, hearty breakfast food Service: we sat at the counter, so it was super speedy. Ni friendly warm Lou’s service here; their goal is to get the food to you and getting you out. It’s fast and efficient, which is by no means a bad thing. Who comes to a diner for Michelin service anyway? Don’t be offended when people are direct and crisp Atmosphere: a basic diner. Parking is hard to find and lines on the weekends are usually a 20−30min wait. Pro tip — don’t wait outside, go straight to the counter where you can just grab any available seat

Absolutely insane, fresh food with a creative menu. My wife and I stopped hear on the way back to Boston after being in Quechee. I had homemade hash and eggs benny. I customized it with fresh baby spinach and whole wheat toast. Wife had a special. Eggs Benny over Polenta and shrimp with fava beans. This place is unique, and it’s damn good.

Classic hometown diner that is bustling with patrons who clearly come for the great grub and familiar feel. Despite it being a busy Saturday morning, we only had to wait a few minutes before they could seat us. Service was super quick, in and out in under an hour. We opted for two items on the specials menu. Waffles with peanut butter, vanilla ice cream and fudge. The perfect adult breakfast. The waffles were crispy, light and the ice cream cut through the richness of the peanut butter perfectly. My husband got the eggs served over pouting with jalapeños, salsa, sour cream and cheddar. It was messy and fantastic. The perfect concoction. My biggest regret was that we didn’t have any gastronomical real estate so that we could try the donuts that I’ve heard so much about. Maybe next time…

Nice All-American breakfast fare! Stopped over this place just by chance while going to Montréal. Don’t miss this if you’re nearby and in the mood for some nice breakfast.

I have frequented«The aces» over the past years. Breakfast is what it’s all about. If you are looking for the local breakfast dive, this is the spot. Here are some quick hits: *don’t miss on the Port muffin *real local maple syrup *local cheddar on your omelette *hash is house made — so good!

This is the best diner, hands down, that I have ever been to. Love coming here for breakfast on weekends. Great staff. They’re always super busy, so getting up earlier is recommended! Their weekly specials are creative, wicked different, and always good. Parking can be a bit tight, lot out behind the building is not small but the 4 Aces is always hoppin!

One of the regular places my friends and I like to eat for breakfast/brunch. It can get pretty busy for a small place but the line moves pretty quick(no waiting area in a diner car). There’s a donut as big as your head called the«big D» but only eat it warmed! The Florentine Benedict was delicious. There was a Lobster Benedict that was filling and tasty, their special benedicts are usually good as well. The Sausage and Biscuits is tasty and my other favorite. My friend likes the Breakfast Burrito and orders it every time. If it is available, I recommend the Jalapeño Cornbread. But pass on the Popovers, wasn’t a favorite in our group.

I can’t believe it has taken me so long to write a review of 4 Ace’s. I drove past this place daily for months before finally stopping in… And what a mistake that was! We have been at least a dozen times now and every time: friendly & speedy service, delicious food, very affordable. Plus, oh man, the«stuffed» French toast? Yum! A hidden gem of the Upper Valley, for sure.

Visited the 4 Aces with my daughter and husband and was quite taken with the décor, staff, and food. Food first — I had a «Benny» a breakfast special at $ 6.99 which was a banger, bubble & squeak, and two eggs Benedict. I asked them to hold the English muffins and put the eggs on the bubble & squeak. You may be wondering what Bubble & Squeak is, I’d never heard of it before seeing it here(I’m from the South), it’s a hash made with cabbage, onion, potatoes, ham, and bacon. The coffee was great black. My husband had the Joker, and was very pleased. Everything was great and the service quick and friendly. Loved the Magic Eight ball on the table. Easy to talk, not too much noise.

Hunka hunka burnin deliciousness. It was hard for me to choose between all the tempting choices so I opted for my default choice — a bacon cheeseburger. It was phenomenal. My mom got hash and eggs, which she said was great — hash consisted of big chunks of real corned beef. The scenery is also great. They got this kitchsy biker vibe going on. It works. There’s a really cool Elvis bust near the bathroom that I would have stolen if I could have gotten away with it. Go to this place. You will not regret it(unless you’re on a strict low-fat diet).

The only bad thing about this place is having to choose from such a huge and varied selection of great things to eat. No mater what time of day or what else you are having, make sure to get a crock of their baked beans, BESTEVER!

For starters, this place is definitely easy to miss if you aren’t familiar with the area. There’s ALWAYS construction around the place so it doesn’t have the most scenic surroundings. I came here with some friends for the first time for brunch. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a quaint diner with bar and booth seating options. The menu seemed pretty typical of diner food: something for the health nuts and something for the hungover. MYORDER: I got the corned beef hash egg benedict — the actual name was less of a mouthful… It was a big portion! I thought that the English muffin would be the standard size you find at the grocery store, but they were huge! The dish came with a side of a few potato wedges which were mediocre, but the corned beef hash was the star of the show so I didn’t really mind! Price is around $ 9 – 10. My party also got«The Donut» to share. It’s basically a gigantic cake donut cut in half, warmed/toasted on the stove, topped with whipped cream and drizzled with maple syrup(I think). I thought it tasted a bit stale and my friend agreed, but then he thought it tasted better with each bite. Wouldn’t really recommend. I like the salty better anyways! SERVICE: The staff was great — friendly and prompt!

Came here last weekend with my mom on Christmas eve, we got a seat relatively quickly. The last time we came here the line was out the door, but what I didn’t know was so little extra space inside for waiting! The line appeared much longer than it was. I got the cinnamon roll pancakes, they were pretty yummy. Surprisingly filling! My mom got a big breakfast with pancakes, bacon, sausage, home fries. She liked her meal as well. Our service was friendly and prompt, busy but there was no show of stress or hurrying. A few cons: Apparently the bathrooms could be better, my mom mentioned that they weren’t great. I didn’t take a look so I can’t really elaberate, I’ll update when/if I ask for a little more info at a later time. Also after eating(about 15 minutes later) my mom’s stomach started to get upset, not sure if it’s because of eating too much or just not agreeing with her, but it’s worth mentioning either way. I would come here again to try out their lunch menu! Food and service is good, prices very reasonable and it’s a fun, little place.

This place is the definition of a hidden gem. It’s easy enough to miss driving past if your coming from Vermont, as I was. The diner is completely hidden from the road as it is situated behind a rather seedy looking tattoo parlor, marked only with a small sign which looks like it was put up as an afterthought, and entering the parking lot involves executing an abrupt turn off a winding and inclined Rt. 4 immediately after you have crossed over the Connecticut River. I am being completely serious here. I was I actively looking for the 4 Aces yet still missed the entrance and had to turn around a short while up the road. I presume that only locals(or very persistent through-travelers such as myself) frequent the place! Anyways, that small hassle was well worth it as the food and service were both excellent. I ordered scrambled eggs with kielbasa, home fries, and whole wheat toast and it did not disappoint. The kielbasa in particular impressed me. It was just the right amount crispy, salty, and spicy. I thought they provided a good amount of food for the price, too, although somewhat small by diner standards. The waitress was courteous and attentive and the décor of the place was a real throwback. Not only is the diner housed within an original Worcester diner car but they have an assortment of posters and advertisements that looked like they dated back to the 1950s, as well as old-school New England products for sale. Seriously, when was the last time you saw a restaurant selling a can of Moxie? All things considered, I will definitely be stopping by the 4 Aces the next time I am in the area and I look forward to another great meal there. My curiosity has been piqued by the Bubble & Squeak listed on the menu, which I later found out is an old-time English specialty, so I will definitely be trying that out. I lived in the Upper Valley for 4 years and regret that I never tried the place until after I moved away. I would definitely recommend the 4 Aces over Hanover’s Lou’s as it is not only a better value, but serves better quality food, and without any pretensions.
