Back when I was into cars and had gotten my first one, I realized I needed to upgrade from my crappy stock radio/tape deck and paper speakers to something more robust. At the time I worked for Sears which had SOME halfway decent car stereos(Sony, JVC, Panasonic) but pretty mediocre to horrible speakers, and Best Buy had opened next door. Checked out their selection, in addition they offered Rockford-Fosgate to my surprise, better but not best. So on the unanimous advice of friends I headed to Electronic Superstore to check out their top of the line car electronics. Alpine Alpine Alpine everywhere, this is what I wanted. I opted for all-Alpine — head unit, two 6.5″ Type-R component speakers and two Type-R 6×9’s. Since it was a large car I opted to have Electronic Superstore install it for me. Took them maybe a half hour. Total cost? $ 500, way less than I figured I’d have spent. And the system sounded amazing, completely worth the money. Unfortunately the same day I got into a minor car accident right outside the store! But that’s immaterial, I sent other friends to E.S. and they had equally good results. Easily the best car electronics store in the Upper Valley.
