Valiant effort was made here, but I’m sure by the time I finish this review this store will have seen its last day. My recent visit here will be my last. They were having a Store Closing sale and everything was up for grabs. Right down to the fixtures. This has been a staple at this mall for years, but I assume that it was a store that had declining sales and therefore ended its run. If rumors are right, this will be replaced with a movie theater in the near future.

2nd extremely bad encounter with Sears at Century III and we will NOT be going back. 1st encounter was a little over a year ago when we ordered appliances for a rental property. Every day for a week someone called to verify order, delivery times, etc. Except on the day of delivery NOONE called or showed up. My husband had to call hours after the missed appointment time to find out what happened. We ended up cancelling the order. NOONE from Sears called asking why or how they could help or keep our business. But I gave them a 2nd chance and we went last week to order a mattress from the store. We had researched the week before and tested out so we knew what we wanted and returned last week to place order. Different sales person this time, but both gave us the same prices. The mattress was to be delivered today… GUESSWHAT… no delivery. There was a mix up with the order as the sales person didn’t get it right… now it will be nearly $ 1,000 more and we still won’t get it today. I am livid, so we are cancelling the order. BUYERBEWARE I will not be spending one more penny at this or any Sears.

I been hearing that the company that is Sears is essentially on its deathbed. You wouldn’t know it as this Century III Mall location, however. This is the one that served me well as a kid when shopping for school clothes year after year until I was granted a diploma. I needed a few pairs of longjohns for the winter ahead, and with a Sears gift card in hand from X-Mas Day, I stocked up. They not only had what I wanted but were also offering a special«buy one get one free» deal that I exploited to the fullest. The employees were surprisingly cheery and helpful. Eerie foreshadowing? I suppose Sears will be another casualty of Wal-Mart’s decades-long retail rampage. I’m sure I could have gotten what I needed at Wal-Mart for less money, but I wanted to flip off the Waltons in my own way.
