What a wonderful place to spend Cinco de Mayo! There were tons of festivities for the kids and fun decorations. The queso blanco is delicious and addictive. The margaritas are nice and strong. And the chicken burrito was excellent. I would recommend this to anyone looking for good Mexican food in the area.

The best Mexican restaurant in the West Monroe area. They’re queso dip is to die for! I make sure to stop here every time I visit Louisiana. My favorite dish is the nachos Texanos. I love the friendly environment and genuine Mexican feel. It’s the closest you’ll get to Mexico in West Monroe.

Avoid. The family’s second visit enroute back from beach vacation. I’m rating so I remember next year to avoid. Beef is of the lowest quality I’ve ever had. Guacamole is straight out of a Sysco foods plastic bag. Better ‘Mexican’ food at McAlisters Deli.

Ok so it’s hard to get to.(Off the beaten path) Menu is large … The name of the place is Chile Verde. Funny, since they don’t even offer chile verde as I was hoping after a 10 hour trip on the road. Saw it on Unilocal and decided to give it a try … Now the good news, get over the ho hum service as the server wasn’t Mr. Personality but he nailed our order and was very accommodating . I ordered the carne asada(holding my breath). It was excellent, tender and very well marinated. They make their own tortillas and hot sauce. . I’m pretty hard on restaurants … The food is fresh and good, Above average for all the crap Mexican food dives that are out there … Beer is very very cold . Give this place a try … I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely come back if I’m in the area.

This place was just ok. We were just in town for the night, and decided to eat here. The hostess who seated us wasn’t very friendly. We had a party of 8 and she gave us two menus, didn’t say anything and never came back. We had to go up there and ask for 6 more– again she didnt’ say anything. Weird. Our server was friendly enough and fairly attentive. The prices are a little high for the quality of food. They also seem to charge for every little thing. Chips were good — salsa had no flavor. Overall, we left full but can’t say I’d recommend this place. Maybe I just have higher standards for Tex-Mex fare being from Texas.

Best queso(white cheese dip) in the area. Food itself was also good and you get more than you pay for.

The one on sterlington rd. is the only one I will go to. The one in West Monroe is very dirty. But the food is good at both locations.

Great food, drinks, and chill environment. They are slacking a little bit on the customer service though.

My wife, a Northeast Louisiana University alum, is a Chile Verde loyalist and enthusiast. With a dash of sentimentality, we hit either this locale or the one in Monroe whenever we are in this area. I really like all locations, and I can truly appreciate their very reasonably-priced lunch specials, priced for a ULM student tired of binging on Ramen, but waaaaaay affordable to those with full-time paychecks. We don’t have Chili Verde in Shreveport, dagnabit! But if we did, I would hit it and hit it often! It is for this reason, that I enjoy our occasional jaunts to the northeastern part of this fine state of ours… that, and to traipse the beautiful University of Louisiana at Monroe campus and trip down memory lane with my lovely wife!

Ugh! Maybe ok for those who like their Tex Mex on the bland side. But if you know anything about this style of food and cooking, PASS on this place. Chips ok, «salsa» is more like bad jarred spaghetti sauce. Guacamole and refrieds are

Salsa and chips were not good. Salsa tasted like tomato sauce but when I asked for something hotter, they definitely delivered! It was too hot but combining them and adding pico helped. The fajitas were great as they were served with homemade tortillas. I could have eaten nothing but the tortillas and been quite happy. If I were traveling through again, I would stop in for another go.

Oh my… I love love love Chile Verde. Rice with queso. The enchiladas with BOTH sauces… It’s a little dirty, but all of the locations are. Great prices, lots of college kids. Fast service. Don’t forget the queso. Please put it on your rice. For me? Please? I used to eat here twice a week. Sadly, no more, as I don’t live there anymore. This is my least favourite location. The one on 165 in Monroe is better.

I’m surprised that both places I ate Mexican food at in Louisiana were surprisingly good. No joke I ate here 3 nights in a row. Carne aside was awesome it was moist and tender, the stuffed punjabi was very cheesy and the rice, beans and salad were just right. They do put a lot of cheese in certain items which was a bit overboard. The service was great and the waiters all seemed very concerned with us every night. Their drinks are huge and even when I asked for a refill the waiter could tell we were leaving and gave me a huge to go cup. The chips and salsa are great as well. As you walk out don’t forget to grab a free soft serve ice cream cone.

Chili Verde is a good place to stop and get some chips and salsa and a pretty good burrito. The décor is a little outdated but this is the type of place you come to for the food.

The ambiance is kind of nifty in a fancy restaurant in Tijuana kinda way. What really turns me on is their chicken nachos. They are considered an appetizer but it’s a meal I tell ya.
