Philly Cheesesteak House

Visited this diner on Saturday morning. Service started out politely and patio seating was a nice option, though the loud hum of steady traffic on Bergen Blvd was a bit rough. I ordered the Lumberjack – excellent, and the people I was with ordered the the Denver omelette and the Athens omelette. The Athens was supposed to be made with egg whites but it arrived with regular eggs. The error was corrected quickly and done to perfection. The Denver was pretty good – a bit on the small side. Service was very good and drinks were refilled to our satisfaction. Total for these three breakfasts and coffees was $ 33. We’d definitely come back!

Food was really good. Atmosphere was so so. I ordered a phili cheese steak with whole wheat bread and American cheese. It was really good. Perhaps one of the best steak sandwiches I’ve ever had. The staff were friendly too. The atmosphere is not that great. So if you want a quality steak sandwich, it’s a really good place to ace one.

Stumbled upon this place on Unilocal while looking for something to eat but didn’t know what. So you can’t go wrong with a PHILLY CHEESE STEAK. The reviews were boarder line I decided to take a chance. I am happy I went. The philly cheese steak was really good. The bread was fresh, the meat and cheese and peppers were superb. Server was attentive. Now that the good stuff done moving on. The atmosphere was kinda shady. I was looking a menu in the window when the patron from inside the store told me I wouldn’t regret my decision (very loudly)…being put on the spot I walked in. He then told me it was BYOB and you can buy a bottle next door. I just felt a little uneasy and out of my element. The place was empty for a Friday night. Anyway the food was great. Take it to go.

Live in the area and went in for the first time and loved it. Was going to have a traditional cheesesteak and asked about a wrap option. Loved it on a wrap. Service was nice and polite. Can’t wait to go back.

Stopped in for dinner with my husband one night we ordered two cheese steak sandwiches, then we were offered the special that came with steak fries. To drink we got 2 snapple ice teas and an order of mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, I was disappointed that we got charged $ 9.00 for 4 mozarella sticks, and also when our sandwiches finally came we were shocked to find 3 steak fries each on our plates my husband and I looked at each other… our bill was close to $ 40.00. The cheese steaks were very tasty wish they hadn’t been so stingy on the steak fries.

Ok this is a nice little place but I always wonder why it’s always empty. We usually get the same thing which is the skirt steak and that’s our favorite dish. I’ve tried a few other things but it just didn’t do it for me. The staff is fairly friendly and most of the time attentive.

Decent cheesesteak, but not in anyway, shape or form remotely like a «philly cheesesteak» i know a lot of people in Hudson county might call these Philly Cheesesteaks, but stop adding Philly’s name and endorsements, its just a decent steak with cheese,

I ordered from seamless, it took about an hour and 15 maybe 30 to get it. But it was definitely worth the wait. I got the half Philly cheese steak in a wrap, my brother and mother got the full philly cheese steak with fries and onion rings. There is a 20 dollar minimum on delivery, which isn’t hard to do if there’s multiple people. Everything was incredible. The full Philly cheese steak was HUGE. Definitely enough for two people if you don’t eat much. It was perfect. The fries were just the right amount of crispy. The onion rings were a bit soggy, but still very good. They were nice and thick. Overall it was great, the only thing was the delivery. Was a bit slower than I would like.

Great Philly cheese steak sandwich in West New York ~~~! Only problem is that they are becoming a bit skimpy on the meat more and more. I guess the business is not as booming as it used to be. It is a big restaurant but I have seen not it packed yet. Actually it is usually just me and my buddy the entire time.
I have not had a better sandwich than this joint in the area so give it a go. You have nothing to lose.

A few months ago I would’ve given this place 4 stars because of the delicious food.
However, they have been getting progressively greedy. My husband usually gets the chicken with mushroom sauce, white rice and French fries + 1 can of soda. They’ve been charging him a little bit more each time he goes to pick it up. They usually ask for $ 17 – 18. Then he once paid $ 19. And recently they charged him $ 25… for the very same thing. When he inquired about the high price, he was told that it was because he requested extra sauce (which he’s been doing every time we’ve ordered from them.)
Charging patrons who visit your establishment several times a week variable amounts for «extra sauce» is outrageous. And the person taking the order didn’t even inform him prior to preparing it.
The other problem I have with them is the quality of the food. It used to be pretty good. But the quality has declined. The last time I ordered from them, the chicken was undercooked and tasted like rubber. It was literally pink in the middle. So I threw it out. The French fries were squishy and «wet.» And the rice was hard as a rock… as if it’s been sitting out for a few days.
I MIGHT order from them again in the future… but I’d rather explore different options in the neighborhood.

Places like this should be barred from using the moniker «Philly».
Note to sub/​hero/​whatev shops in New Jersey:
Chicken cheesesteak meat is NOT chunky; repeat: chicken cheesesteak meat is NOT CHUNKY. You cannot chop up a regular grilled chicken breast, toss it on a sub roll and call it a cheesesteak.
If you are looking for an authentic cheesesteak, with deliciously seasoned, very thinly sliced meat, à la Philly or other parts in the lower Northeast, then please do not waste your time, or more importantly, your money.

Their food is delicious and affordable! I usually get the chicken cheese steak combo and have never been dissapointed. My husband has also tried the Turkey burger which he said was great! They also have yummy desserts, I usually get the chocolate milkshake. Definitely worth going to if you’re in the area

Great spot … They have breakfast lunch and dinner. Though I cannot speak on the breakfast, the rest of the menu is full of great choices. The Philly cheese steak is ⁴⁄₅ stars. Usually very tasty. The plants no appetizer is yummy… Though it should come with 4 instead of 3 for the price of 7.50 $,. The meat is very good… Nicely flavored. The servers are nice too. It’s also BYOB… Definitely make a stop by here

Best philly cheesesteak ever!!! I got the Philly combo for $ 1.95 which comes with a soda (your choice) and and a side of fries! You can choose whatever you want on the sandwich! Go there!!!

Well it’s not Pat’s or Geno’s, but you don’t get any attitude either. The bread is fresh
& you get a large choice of toppings.
They have chicken & pork too.
If you can’t make it to South Philly,
then give this place a try.

Solid lunch choice. It’s not a truly authentic Philly cheese steak but still very good. I had the beef cheese steak with cheddar, cooked onions, mushrooms and green pepper. I probably should have gone with another cheese choice because the cheddar didn’t get very melt-​y. The onions and green peppers were diced; just personal preference as I like these vegetables sliced. The bread was not as dense as I would like. The onion rings were good but soggy when I got home. My order did not receive the complimentary fries and soda but maybe that is a lunch special thing?
The interior was interesting … kinda like an inner city diner with a coffee/​snack bar on a couple folding tables.
Manager was very friendly. Parking is challenging (have some quarters on hand to feed the meters) but she said she could deliver to my complex. Pricing is a tad bit higher than it should be but with free delivery, that could balance out.

Oh. My. God. My girlfriend and I moved to this area recently from Philly. She grew up there and I lived there for about six years. As a result of this a good cheesesteak was something we’d have a couple times a month. They’re just SO good! Moving to where we are in Jersey has been disappointing as far as finding a quality cheesesteak is concerned. Every place just sucked, that is, until a coworker told her about this place. Everything is just as good as Philly except the rolls – although these rolls are pretty good. We will definitely be ordering from here again, especially with their fast delivery!

Went here for breakfast after a long night out and got the order to go. Food was alright but my main complaint was that they only had a coffee pot that was ¼ full. It barely filled ½ of my and my friend’s cups. I was too hung over to wait for more, you would think they would have a full pot or two for breakfast!

They deliver to us in Port Imperial (total bonus since almost NO ONE delivers to us). Everything was SUPER hot and fresh. We ordered 2 cheese steaks & an order of onion rings (batter was pretty darn good). Much to our surprise, the order included complimentary french fries and Coca-Cola’s (one with each cheese steak).
They accept credit cards and the delivery service was prompt.
