I likewise stopped here on the Pittsburgh-DC bike trail. They were friendly enough but didn’t really accommodate bikers – no place outside to lock, for instance. The prices were reasonable, and the food was good(but don’t expect anything too gourmet). It was basically just what I was looking for – a diner populated by locals where I could get a meal.

I had breakfast at the Chuck Wagon recently while taking a break from riding the Great Alleghany Passage bike trail. Just across the river bridge from the trailhead, the Chuck Wagon was very convenient to reach, and also about the only place in town open on a Sunday morning. The people inside — staff and customers — were exceptionally friendly, engaging me and my girlfriend in long, amiable conversations. And the breakfast — pancakes, eggs, sausages, bacon, toast, and endless coffee refills — was delectable and fairly cheap.
