My visit to the West Newton Bicycle Shop occurred while cycling the Great Allegheny Passage/C&O Canal from Pittsburgh to Washington, DC. A cabling issue on mile 10 of a 340 mile trip is not the ideal start. I arrived at the shop about 25 minutes before close and they immediately went to work on the repair. About 15 minutes later, the bike was in tip top shape and I had all my gears back. The repair cost was ridiculously low so I gave the guy a nice tip. If you’re biking through West Newton(the shop is right on the GAP trail) or in the area, the West Newton Bicycle Shop is a good option.
