start to finish excellent atmosphere, food and service. this is the best Italian cuisine I ever had. I would give my highest recommendation to this restaurant.

Walking into Café Toscano is always like walking into your Grandmother’s dining room for a holiday meal. The tables are set beautifully, lighting and ambiance are soft and scream class; if you go on the weekends you’re in luck as they offer live music :) The owner Ann Marie takes personal interest in her guests and offers an extensive wine list that includes my favorite Italian wines. My favorite dish is the Grouper Toscano I substitute with angel hair pasta it is delectable! Don’t even get me started on dessert menu it is all good I’ve tested for you!!! Definitely give Café Toscano a try it won’t be your last visit I promise!

Possibly the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. We read all the bad reviews beforehand, but had a gift card so we decided to give it a try. As others have said, prices are significantly more expensive in the restaurant than they are online. To begin, each entrée«comes with» soup or salad. HOWEVER, when I ordered a side caesar salad instead of a side house salad, I was charged a $ 5 upcharge for the«upgrade». This place really nickel and dimes for everything. Salad came and was very below average. We then waited almost an hour for our entrees to come out on a night when the restaurant was nearly empty. When our food finally did come, it was very clearly and obviously frozen food. My eggplant Parmesan came out warm on the outside but freezing cold in the center. Next, we tried to use our gift card, but were told by the owner that we could not use it to cover the tip. We were not given a receipt for our meal to see how much was left on the gift card. When I asked, the owner scribbled the balance on a sheet of paper and handed it to me as we walked out the door. She was very rude. Save your time and your money and go somewhere else!

This is the worst restaurant I have ever frequented. It took 90 minutes just to get the stale horrible tasting bread. The entrees were reheated frozen meals and were extremely overpriced — 15 dollars for spaghetti and meatballs — salad or soup was extra. We ordered the 22 dollar jumbo shrimp with vegetables and were served a small bowl of small microwaved tough shrimp with nothing else on the plate. We were told they were out of vegetables. The eggplant Parmesan clearly previously frozen was inedible. The prices listed online are significantly less then in restaurant.

This is a real review by a real person, unlike the fake reviews that the owner got by giving out free appetizers. This place is awful. The owner is rude. The menu prices are significantly higher on the restaurant menu than the online menu. The special prices are outrageous. You would think you were in a 5-star restaurant, rather than a fake Italian restaurant with Olive Garden quality food. No wonder the place was empty when we went. Why go here when there are so many good authentic Italian restaurants around, like DiPietro’s a mile away?

Decided to make second visit after several months. Place was empty, except for noisy party in back room. No prices were given on the specials, which we were forewarned ran very expensive. Salad was mostly rough greens. Wine still is terrible and expensive. Porcini veal was delicious, tho veal should have been pounded more. Chicken Francese was tasty. This evening there was a male vocalist that did his best to entertain with no feedback.

The food was really, really good. Our waitress was spot-on and attentive, one of the better waitresses I’ve had in recent memory. I was impressed. The only reason they don’t get 5*, even though the food and service were awesome, is because the 8 oz veal stuffed with ricotta, spinach and mozzarella on saffron risotto was $ 39.95 and that price was not disclosed when the specials were given. That price is outrageous. Yes I could have asked, but that price point was out of whack and is the only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth. Everything else was on point given the fantastic quality of the food. All in all, a great experience and we might return, but that price gouge on the veal was disconcerting.

Though it’s not the cheapest Italian restaurant in town, the food was tasty and tasted fresh. The Italian wedding soup was especially good, with big pieces of tender chicken and a flavorful broth. The décor is «eclectic», but the live music was a nice touch. Good service, too.

Over priced($ 15 for chicken parmigiana that had 1 lousy small breast and crappy corkscrew pasta), sauce is absolutely flavorless and meatballs were very average. I should have stuck to my gut feeling(owner outside chain smoking is a red flag) and never tried it. Yuck.

Worst ever. Stuffed grouper special was frozen and not fully cooked. How this«restaurant«is still open I’ll never know.

Great service, Good food, reasonable prices, and an atmosphere that is inviting and friendly. If you want a great dining experience that you will remember — try this place! The owner was attentive and accommodating and the server was great. I plan on becoming a regular for sure!

UPDATED4−9−15: Review is from a visit a few months ago… apparently when they were still selling frozen pizzas… which they apparently don’t serve anymore…(believe me, that’s a plus for the guests!). I can’t believe this place is allowed to operate. The food is nicely presented but after that I can’t find anything positive to mention. The prosciutto tasted previously frozen, buffalo mozzarella was mushy and crumbly not at all what one would expect. The Chicago style pizza(no longer on the menu!), which was ordered as a «flatbread», was dry, over bread-y and disgusting, while the fried mozzarella was cooked well but still lacked seasoning. Everything tastes like it came from a frozen dinner package, thus way overpriced for the quality. Never again!

My family and I tried Café Toscano for the first time tonight. The food, atmosphere, and service were amazing! I would highly recommend this restaurant to others. The Grouper special and homemade deserts were delicious! Great place for Italian!

I have to say, it’s a weird vibe and décor, and they were playing a full-on Christmas music station in February… food was mediocre typical Italian fare. Salads took 20 minutes to come out, then table bread came about 25 min after(stale). My 2-year old was going to eat my side of pasta as her meal and it came out 10 – 15 min after the adults got their food(she just ate our food and we boxed hers up). Cannoli filling tasted like whipped cream instead of ricotta/mascarpone cheese. Got the bill and saw the«Special» that the server described was $ 45(It was veal, and overbreaded/fried). Now, I completely understand that we should have asked for the price to be sure, but the menu prices were in a completely different ballpark(~$ 20)…it was a bit of a shock. We paid and noticed the server mistakenly rang up a Heineken and and Iced tea on our tab as well. When I suggested they state the prices of specials when describing them, I was told that they«didn’t give quotes at the table because it makes people uncomfortable.» I could understand if you were at a 5 star restaurant on Palm Beach where that would be appropriate and high prices are expected, but you are in Village Commons shopping plaza. It just leaves the guest with a bad taste in their mouth and you are hurting yourself more than you are helping.

Food was awful. Owner was rude. And service not that great. The owner was standing outside the restaurant on the phone and when we entered he followed behind us and asked what we wanted. I asked when lunch ended and he stares at me blankly and says 5 so we asked about the lunch buffet. He hangs up the phone shows us the buffet which was spring mix, tomatoes, cucumbers and 4 entrees that didn’t have signs on them. Then says they have soup so I lift up the lid to look at what kind and he grabs out from me and shuts it and says they are making it now. The food had way to much oil and butter in it and did not taste good at all. The best part was the salad. As we were leaving the owner was standing outside again and yelled at a server. Very rude owner and the door was left open so i was fighting the gnats off my food.

We went here for lunch and it was absolutely delicious!!! The buffet is a great value and the chicken and veal parm were delicious as well as the grouper. The apple pie was also amazing! Café Toscano gets an A+ for me! We will definitely be back!

Appetizer portion of the shrimp cocktail was inadequate and chintzy. Ambiance and lighting were poor although the Opera singer was enjoyable but loud(go figure). Manager was uncooperative. We won’t be back.
