What a nice surprise. A short trip down memory lane with delicious breakfast. Our waitress greeted us warmly and upon hearing that it was our first time, she brought us out some fresh preserves to try. Thy were not too sweet and tasted authentic. Our order came out fast. My mom and I both wanted to try the Belgium waffles. So we shared an order. It was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and cake-like on the inside. Then, we had omelets with grits. The grits had a very unique flavor that I personally loved. However, my mom is more traditional and liked them a bit less. Also, they were room temperature(Which is a cardinal sin in my Mom’s eyes). I didn’t mind it though. They were just about warm enough to melt butter, so I’m okay with that. Overall, I had a very pleasurable experience at Howleys and I saw several things on the menu that I would love to try next time. So, I will definitely return.

The retro décor is great. Open late which is nice. I only wish that the service was as good as the food.

Howley’s is one of the best local restaurants that stays open late nights). The atmosphere is chill, with vintage-style décor and rotating local artwork on the walls. This is definitely where local artistic-types gather; it’s difficult to show up here anonymously! The staff is very cool. Although Howley’s presents itself as a ‘diner,’ and they serve diner-type food, their prices are not diner worthy(higher than average). However, there always seems to be coupon floating about, and I don’t mind paying more to eat in a cool, reliable place. I have often ended up here with a group of friends after an art show or a music event in West Palm Beach.

My friends and I stayed at a nearby hotel. Wanted a quick bit after getting into town; after a long 5 hour car ride. After looking at the menu and we decided to eat in instead of carry out. The ambiance on the porch was great. Food was cooked correctly and served with perfection. Iced tea is sweet, need a little of unsweetened tea to tone it down. However very tasty. We had great service and our meals were so scrumptious !

I can’t say enough about this place! We go every chance we can and sometimes more than we should! It has been our«what else can we try on the menu» place. Because, honestly, EVERYTHING, we’ve had has been out of this world! If I lived in the homes behind them they’d be sick of me! My five stars are based on excellent service, quality and variety of food choices along with a cool vintage vibe that will knock your socks off… literally…the drinks are potent in this unsuspecting diner! My is owned by this place!

Despite the fact that we arrive to the restaurant around 2 a.m. I was more than pleased with the overall food and service. I ordered the howleys version of the Big Mac with Tator tot fries and split the nachos with chili with my girlfriend. The food came out with speedy service and very fresh even at 2 a.m. I definitely will be back for future visits when I’m back in the West Palm area!

I wanted to love this place. It’s old, fun, totally comprehensive menu, open late, and the music is awesome. But then, i found a dark hair(I’m blonde) deeply embedded in my Philly on my first trip there. Didn’t say anything, because it was 4am and I didn’t want to think about it, just abandoned my sandwich. I gave this place a second shot for breakfast this morning. The fresh OJ is awesome! I ordered a goat cheese omelette… which was greasy, by the way… and a few bites in — ANOTHERDARKHAIR. When I suggested hairnets to the manager, she said everyone wears one. Well. Maybe they need shower caps. SOGROSS. I have to think that two errant hairs in two visits is not a coincidence. Not willing to go for the third strike, they are already out. So disappointed.

I love this place! The ambiance is perfect for meeting up with friends and the food is like anything you will find at a classic NJ diner. I’ve tried working remotely from there a few times, but it is a little too noisy for that type of dining experience. Adi Starr of

If you’re from West Palm Beach you’ve probably been here at some point. Whether it’s for brunch on the weekend, or stopping in at 3am after the club to soak up some of the booze. Everyone has been here! For the most part the food and service are good. Actually I should say that I’ve never had bad service… and most of the staff has been there for awhile. The food can fluctuate at times if you’re not going for breakfast. Breakfast is consistent… eggs, omelettes, pancakes, etc. So if you haven’t been I would suggest going early, and if you go late… well it doesn’t really matter because, let’s be honest, we know why you’re there.

This is about as good as diners get. Great kitsch atmosphere with mostly really good comfort foods. I love that they use real ingredients(like olive oil, real butter and whipped cream etc.) in their made-from-scratch menu items that I can get late at night! They are open until 2am Sun-Thursday and until 5am on Fri and Sat nights… yay…Gourmet late night food! I’m addicted to their matzo ball soup! It has a nice, light broth and fluffy, light matzo balls! They also have great crab cakes and a crab cake benedict that I crave. Come before noon to get their Benedict dishes like eggs florentine with their great made-from-scratch hollandaise sauce! Yum! Other favorites of mine are the turkey sandwich and the turkey pot pie(that are made with fresh in-house roasted whole turkeys), the devilish eggs(like gourmet deviled eggs with real bacon bits on top), the pan-fried hand-breaded mozzarella cheese patties with homemade marinara sauce, the reuben, sautéed spinach, brussel sprouts, the key lime pie and the carrot cake! I didn’t give them 5 stars because they can be very spotty on kitchen consistency. I’ve gotten the shrimp salad croissant that barely had any shrimp salad on it(that I should have complained about) and a turkey sandwich that didn’t have enough turkey to cover the bread(which I did complain about and the manager did fix it). I also do not recommend their mushroom soup; it was a thick, bland, pasty mess that I returned and they took it off of the bill. I got a blackened grouper sandwich once that was overcooked, way too spicy and just not good. The sautéed veggies I ask for cooked soft(but they usually come half raw and I have to return them to get cooked more)(with butter pats on the side to add). And the service can be slow and spotty as well, since many waiters, like at most places, haven’t grasped the concept of surveying their tables every other minute to notice when you need their attention. But all in all, this is a fabulous place that I love to come back to and wish I lived in WPB so I could get their matzo ball soup and other favorites more often!

An iconic landmark and a true diner that’s been around for around 60 years, Howley’s is a great place to get some home cooking. Their Reuben, Deviled Eggs, and Chicken Fried Steak are definite highlights as well as their milkshakes. Whether you sit at the counter or in one of the booths as you bask in the vintage 50s style the diner oozes, Howley’s should be an essential stop for locals and out-of-towners.

I’ve been to Howley’s twice. It’s been around for many years and still going strong so something must be working right… THEGOOD… –easy to find parking(may depend though on time/day) –atmosphere is pretty chill –servers have personality and are nice –decent many with options for all –vegan burger is tasty –peanut butter chocolate pie is super good –tater tots are good –reasonable prices –open pretty much all the time THEBAD… –shrimp Creole wasn’t anything I’d order again Overall, Howley’s is a cool spot in WPB. I’d return again when I’m down visiting…

This wasn’t my first visit to Howley’s, but it is the first time I am reviewing it. To start, their parking lot is atrocious! Pot holes everywhere and very unorganized spaces. There is no direction and it is hella chaotic. Also, the smell of the dumpster and trapped oil in the pot holes makes for one hell of a nasty stench! It can really ruin the appetite right before eating, which is not good for Howley’s business! Their food was decent. It tasted fresh, but I would have preferred it to be hotter. The cheese on my melted tuna melt was just luke warm. The server was very nice but we were squeezed into a tiny booth/table that wasn’t very comfortable.

Pretty laid back joint, with an awesome mural by Amanda Valdez! Parking is a pain in the ass around lunch time, the lot behind the diner is entirely too small. Lots of small tables in the second seating room, or you can opt to sit at the bar. Decent service, but our tatted up waitress looked like she was miserable the duration of our meal. Only until it came time to pay, paid cash, and no change needed. Damn gold diggers. I ordered the seared sesame crusted Ahi salad, and I was a little disappointed. The fish was pretty fresh, but the salad could’ve benefit from a quality mix of fresh greens. I don’t care much for yellowish ice berg lettuce. The lemon vinaigrette that came with the salad more closely resembled straight oil; completely lacking the actual acidity I expected from the lemon in the dressing. My husband had the Ahi burger, which was fresh but nothing to write home about. I’ve heard great things about the chicken fried steak. If we return, it’s on!

After a show at the Perfect Vodka Amphitheater, I browsed Unilocal for a spot to grab a bite. Being that I don’t get up this way that often, I was stoked to try a WPB fav of Unilocalers. Fried fresh mozzarella — comes with 5 pieces, great app. Their twist on moz sticks this was pretty delicious. Country fried steak with mashed potatoes and Mac. Whoa! The steak was incredible, the Mac was great but the mash was disappointing. It didn’t taste like anything at all. The steak and Mac though made this a solid dish… just get a diff side. The place was a little loud especially with the massive table of drunk college kids shouting. We asked for dessert to go and the server disappeared — waited about 10 mins and finally got up to wait for him. Still waited a bit more till he finally brought the bill and dessert. The banana cream pie was a pretty tiny serving and not all that great — especially for the price. Overall it’s a good spot, but some of the dishes are hit or miss, the service could of been better… but that steak!!!

I must say. I really really really wanted to like this place! Same owners as Hullabaloo and Dada, in a late night diner setting, how can you go wrong? From the moment you walk in, you notice the super cute décor with lots of style, personality, art, and young people all around enjoying themselves. The hostess and server were very friendly, everything was relatively quick. I think I just ordered wrong. The Belgium waffle said it was a 1950 recipe, but it was simple and quite blah. I opted for a side of Mac and cheese to fulfill my savory tooth. It was good, but had a layer of grease that made me feel a bit too guilty as a midnight snack. My husband really enjoyed his turkey club sandwich and I think I should have tried the fried mozzarella, the pics looked great. The banana cream pie also intrigued me. I don’t make my way up to West Palm that often, but if looking for a late night place after a concert in the area, it’s first on my list. I enjoy not having to park downtown and fight for a parking spot like their other locations. Until next time Howleys…
